Me too! I really didn’t expect this to work very well. Velocity exceeded QL by upwards of 100 fps. When I synched QL to actual velocity chamber pressure rose to almost 28K. But the primers looked like 18K load primers. Gonna play with my cast 255 slugs I used in the 45 super +P videos and see what happens. The 250 plated ran 962 vs QL est of 870 w/13.5 grns. Gonna bump that and see what happens. Anyway lil’gun seems to be worth a look with heavy pills.
Just checked case volume of brass used. 29 grns vs 25 grn used in the initial model. Pressure not as high as I thought. Just fyi - looking at model of 255 lee cast wheel weight slug. Weighs 261 grns and should clock about 1000 fps & make 600 fpe and be under 21000 psi (standard pressure). Going to try to confirm this morning. I’ll video & post later. Also I have a .452 300 grn mold. Might look at it also
Awesome! You do work fast! I appreciate you running this test. If you ever come across some Enforcer (or accurate 4100, same thing) maybe you could test it out too. Sounds like QL has done well with case fill, so probably unlikely enough Enforcer/4100 could fit to bump pressure up above what has already been shown to work?
Enforcer should work at 14.5. My best guess anyway. The primers looked so good on this test that I’m going to bump up the charge on the 250 grn. I synched QL to my velocity to see what chamber pressure is modeled. Just under 28,000 psi on 15.0 of lil’gun. That said it might be less? The primers looked great. They looked like standard pressure loads. No flattening. I do think OAL may be critical in controlling pressure. I think the 1116 fps cartridge was result of the OAL being 1.240ish versus 1.250. I had couple of rounds that were under 1.250 from adjusting my seating die. I left them in the string as I wasn’t concerned about pressure spike with this pistol. But just be aware. It appears what you heard/read about enforcer is probably accurate or at least in the ballpark.

I would have never thought lil’gun would have worked. Still don’t know that it will match power pistol but it seems to offer some strong performance at reasonable pressure levels.
@ - good morning. Went to range yesterday for quick high pressure test of lil’gun. Exceeded 1200 fps w/261 grn Lee powder coated. Unnerved me a little as I was expecting low 1000 fps and was see 1150 plus. Fired 7 shots and brought brass back. Saw about .003 expansion (max) at web. Primers were flat but only slight ringing around impact point so just slight flow. May lower charge and work up. Just wasn’t expecting what I got.
@@motorgearhead that's moving right along for such a heavy slug. Gotta cut a bunch of trees for a guy today. Hang out with the wife tomorrow since we celebrate early. Neighbors Christmas in Christmas. So definitely slammed the next couple days

I didn’t measure these actual cases prior to firing but they are about .003 over my sized cases. Cases are also mixed head stamps for what it’s worth
