Current owner of the new NTTD Bond watch here.... This watch is amazing! I was lucky enough to order it direct from Omega when it was available on its website for about 72 hours. Used to own the 2531.80 (bought in 2001) and I feel like this watch is the closet Omega has come to replicating what I’ve been looking for during the past years. Totally agree about the candy statement!!!! Love that they used aluminum again and love the matte look of the titanium. The watch doesn’t feel like it has faux patina but rather it just seems like a color scheme to me. I’ve owned subs, SDs and other divers and this (say my 2531.80 b/c of a personal connection) is my favorite watch! I’ve felt like I’ve been waiting for another Omega that I could truly enjoy and Omega has done it with this watch! Keep up the great content Timeless Watch and screw the dress watch - get the Bond watch!!!!! 😉
Overall I think Omega did a damn good job with this. When I first saw the promotional shots I was very skeptical because of the heavy faux patina, but the real world shots show it to be more of a khaki/fatigue color which I think is fitting for this watch. I 100% agree about the caseback. IMO unless it’s something like a Blancpain a dive watch should not have an exhibition caseback. The bracelet looks absolutely epic and I love the matte dial and aluminum bezel. The red text on the dial really pops on this one.
Damn that is an awesome looking piece wasn’t a huge fan of the bracelet at first look but it grew on me with the vintage look would love to get one eventually.
I bought this on the NATO back in August. I think it’s stunning & can’t wait to get to grips with it. I’ve bought 4 Tudors from this AD and they were good as gold & gave me a large discount: BUT, it’s now wrapped up for Christmas - can’t wait to get it on Xmas morning :)
About whether the faux patina will itself patina: The browned vintage dials are all radioactive (radium, tritium, occasionally promethium), and get their discolouration from the zinc sulphide "phosphor" breaking down from the exposure; while modern, light-activated lume is non-radioactive, and uses strontium aluminate - which is very stable. LumiNova has been in user for over 25 years, now, and even those older dials are still pretty much white. That said, there are potential ways in which modern lume might yellow. The phosphors used tend to oxidise when exposed to moisture (certainly zinc sulphide and strontium aluminate do), which could be an issue for a diver. I'm not sure how oxidation affects the colour, but I'm sure it gives some sort of patina. Another way modern lume might yellow is the binding agent used. Again, I don't actually know what they use for lume - but it's not unusual for those used in traditional paint to yellow over time (such as linseed oil).
Just received mine today...WOW Omega hit a Grand Slam with this watch. From the 100% Super light Titanium, Fantastic mesh bracelet, complete matte finishing, Full lume dial and bezel is stunning, beautiful matte finish tropical dark brown dial that really shows off the red Seamaster, the faux aged markers, great deployment, red tip seconds hand.....hmmm did I miss anything?? Ahhh yes super comfortable fitting and thinner than any other Seamaster Potential Future Icon watch? 😎
A comparison to the previous bond watch would be interesting. They both have that same toned down, warmer vibe. Either way, ignoring that outrageous price, it's a beautiful looking watch.
This is super cool. If you don’t know the bezel is aluminium and the crystal less domed than the standard Seamaster. I have the standard one in blue and the moment is unbelievably accurate. One second a day off every three days if that. This is common with this movement. This one will be so comfortable and light. If you’re going down this road you obviously have to get the titanium mesh. It’s the best bond watch yet and will be a keeper 👍🏼
Maybe a watch company will invent a dial without any fauxtina but one that ages very quickly and develops true patina in about year. Keep up the interesting content.
That watch will be very comfortable and very light with the Titanium. And strong if you want to do a 007 and jump off the balcony at the theatre in April! Curious to see how fast these sell. Great review 👍🏼
My Seamaster doesn't have an exhibition back and no reference to James Bond. It is however, a special edition Seamaster Chronograph America's Cup edition that my lovely wife bought me in 2004 for an anniversary. Think I'll wear it tonight for dinner...
For the price point I don't know if it is worth it but I do like the vintage look. If the price will ever come down close to the previous model I might pull the trigger.
A VERY nice piece to upset the traditionalist.. This is on the right track for Omega , a winner for sure ! Presented well, with an accurate description of the true value of a Luxury Investment
Man Omega couldn't have chosen a worse time for me. Just picked up the new black wave 3 months ago. And my next watch was gonna be my first Rolex. This is a stunning watch!! Hopefully in a year secondary prices will be a bit more reasonable. The no date might throw me off. For whatever reason I check it multiple times in day in my watch.
Excellent review... for an incredibly elegant but manly watch which has a jaw-dropping visual appeal. I don't get why watchmakets are not offering a VINTAGE FAUX PETINS version for every one of their top flagship watchs. I think that the inverted CROW's FOOT representing the Ministry of Defense (MoD) on this 300M is a very good Mi6-Military-Bond connection. You may also see that on many Government-Issue equipment. Its both refreshing & good to see that Omega has the ability once every decade to design a supremely classy Seamaster, or Speedmaster, or Moon Watch model to remind us all that Rolex is not the only Super Spy watch around. Since you currently reside in Italia, please let us know your favourite city "outside Rome" 😉 Cheers.
Thank you for the 007 New Seamaster Diver 300M video, certainly impressive with the vintage look and the milanese bracelet blows it out of the park, the price is certainly up there and is something to serious think about as I walked into my local AD yesterday and bagged first in his queue for it.
Revisiting this one, man what a year. No one could have predicted the movie being delayed due to covid until Oct ‘21. I wonder if any of them made it out for sale before the clamp down.
..tried one on . Just can't get passed the bezel action on a piece at this price point , I was expecting a smooth , solid feeling action with a consistent feel to it but this felt tinny and under applied pressure it felt like it would possibly fail. Part of the vintage experience? Loved everything else about it! So conflicted ! Damn it!!!!
I want to like it so much but I can't get over the heavy looking hands of the Seamaster. It's partly what makes it look like a younger man's timepiece as mentioned. Lacks elegance for me and gives me the same feeling of the heavy snowflake (hammer) hand of the Black Bay. I would love this with a slightly broader but simpler Speedmaster hand. I'm nick picking what is otherwise a fantastic piece that I'm sure I would fall in love with once on the wrist. Now I'm talking in circles with wanting to love it again. As always great videos. Cheers
This is #1 on my bucket list. The 2023 however...they have gone off the reservation and made a mockery of the Bond watch...in my humble opinion of course.
Enjoying your content Oisin. I bought a Seamaster 300 Professional back in 1995 and it now has genuine honey coloured patina and the second hand tip is a nice faded orange. Like this new Bond release I've worn it on a mesh for the last year or so which I have grown to prefer over the original bracelet as it shows off the lug shape better and is slightly lighter. I agree that the price of this new release will certainly test brand loyalty!
I love this new Bond watch! The shark mesh bracelet gives it such a different and vintage vibe. The shout out to Metallica was awesome! They were “the” band that got me into playing 🎸
I once worked for the MOD, and yes that crows foot is stamped on everything that moves. I'm wondering what former MI5, MI6 operatives used to wear? 🇬🇧.
Private purchase G-Shock if SIS is anything like the army, getting a G10 watch out if the QM would be like getting blood out if a stone. However Breitling did a special addition watch for MI5 or MI6 in 2009 (for private purchase) for staff.
Jay Burgess that's very informative. You would think it wouldn't be that easy to ID an operative by his watch. That Daniel Craig has a lot to answer for, lol.
@@latonbuzzard2386 The Casio F-91W was used as a red flag in the ME. Apparently the F-91W was given to AQ recruits who passed their basic training and was also used as a timer in IED's. Watches are a great "tell" about a person as they are a very personal item. From WW1 to present day watches have been used as red flag identifiers. Such a beautiful watch. Made out of Titanium with a striking patina appearing dial and bezel. Aluminium was used for the bezel as opposed to ceramic to ensure it didn’t look too shiny and reflective and it absolutely works. I couldn’t stand the cheesy Seamasters with polished steel this masterpiece is brushed titanium and it just looks like a watch that can hold its own against a Rolex Submariner now. Worth every penny and one of my favourites in my collection.
I started off buying mostly Omega watches when I got into the luxury watch market but over time I have gravitated more to Rolex and sold all of my Omegas. That being said I think this is the best looking Seamaster they have done for a while. I'm not keen on the Titanium strap though. I think it looks loads better on the striped brown , grey and beige NATO strap.
Although 7000 isn’t ‘limited’ per se, apparently the previous Bond watch still has a huge backlog of potential customers asking Omega about it. Bond is a huge driver for Omega so it’s possible they thought, why limit the revenue from Bond fans? It’s certainly a winner from a design standpoint
Beautiful watch! Question for you - I'm starting to form a higher end watch collection and was considering a BB58, Speed Master, JLC Reverso, and maybe a Hamilton Field watch. And then I saw this Seamaster...so beautiful! I could get get a Speedy and a BB58 for the same price. Do you think it's worth the price bump? Or is it just a personal preference. Thanks!
Hello friend , my first time to see this Omega Seamster Diver 300 Bond Theme in your channel. I agree , it is absolutely a nice looking watch. But for the price, it is stepping to the Rolex territory . I would rather buy first the 114060 even if the Submariner Date is in my collection. So sorry, But please, to those who like the watch, buy the watch . Cheers
never was a biggest fan of 300 ( although i was obsessed with everything goldeneye as a kid. from jotter to premiere of Z3, not to mention DB5, iza and miss onatop. ) untill this popped out. no date makes it way more attractive and that bracelet with straight ends is just to die for ( almost got nomos 37 for that reason. well inhouse movement helps with its appeal too ). i wont splash out for it just yet though. ill wait till some of you guys will drop it on the second hand market ;)
Love the new James Bond Omega, especially because it has the vintage look but I do not like the Nato strap nor the Milanese bracelet, I would have preferred the Seamaster style bracelet. Keep the GREAT videos coming, it's the ONLY thing that keeps me sane in these INSANE times!
I know I am late here but in terms of the aging of this watch, Omega have used a paint on the dial which is meant to fade and age over time. I think the bezel is also meant to fade over time.
Hey love your channel! I have a smp pro 300 2018 and put it on a “Bond” nato strap rather than the bracelet. It reduces the bling factor and I’m simply smitten by it now. Thought you might want to consider that since you think this version has too much candy. :)
Hi Oisin, Did you pick one up ? Did you do the detailed review from London ? I arrived in Paris last week and I collected mine. It is an awesome watch. I love the mat understated finish and colours scheme very much as it makes for a rather discreet under the radar watch which is an aspect I prize when I buy a watch.
@ I just went to the NY boutique on Madison and they have a non-working example on display and it looks absolutely incredible, much better than the regular version. Super duper light too. They're taking deposits for the full amount with delivery estimated for Feb or March. Tempting...
I agree with you; I prefer the 1993 version of this diver to the larger 2018 models. The quiet man look is what I go for too plus I do not like the larger size.
Metallica in top hat dun laoghaire 1988...all wore metallic t-shirts .... Love the watch vintage vibe...great to see the broad arrow. P.s Happy Xmas from Ireland.
I always thought the watch with the rifling in the center of the dial was cool looking. It probably looks better sitting in a watch box then on your wrist though.
Great video love watching them keep up the great work. I am looking to purchase this watch when it comes out, all I get at the minute is pre order. Do you think it will sell out or do you think they will make plenty and there will be some available in the next six months of the shelf?
Great looking watch, back to the time of military toolwatches. Pitty of the large helium valve aka totthpaste cap. The white "Broad Arrow" sign has almost 500 years usage to mark objectspurchased from the monarch's money, or to indicate government/militaryproperty. Any idea how Omega got the possibility to use this ? Even it's only for the vintage military look ?
i believe patina was an effect of the radioactive materials used in the old watches ... as i understand it, luminova (yellow or white) shouldn't change -- ?
Henry Rose I believe it replicates Tritium paint used back in the day usually indicated with a ‘T’ on the display. This was to indicate to watch makers/repairers to be careful as Tritium is radioactive hence why luminova was later used. Watch makers actually died when constantly hand painting Tritium paint, licking the brush to keep the bristles thin and accurate...
They'd have to remove the crowsfoot but I would prefer the date at 6. The crowsfoot is on the back, so kinda silly on the dial. Great Milanese bracelet.
I do like the look of this watch. My issue with Omega is their major depreciation. A friend of mine recently bought a brand new Blue side of the Moon from an Omega boutique which retailed for 13,7k. They did not give him any discount and he paid tax as well. Within a month I was seeing this watch brand new for less than 9k! It’s a stunning watch but man that stings! He said he’s no longer buying an Omega brand new from a boutique and I don’t blame him. I wouldn’t either. Seems the pre owned Omega would be the better long term value move as it would be with this watch as well. Keep us the great videos man!
Wow. Amazing piece. Not a big fan of the over done stripes on the new model. Brings back the classic lines. Solid case back. This is why I kept my 2017 seamaster. Another great video. 50000 subscribers at end of 2020. 👍
I prefer the Rolex submariner. No glide lock possible in the omega bracelet and the bracelet clasp will be at the side of the wrist when you have a small wrist.
Why the high price? And what's with the aluminium bezel? Should've gone all out and went with a matte ceramic bezel considering the price its going for. Will i get it? Yes, but I'm not gonna pay full price for it. Will get it preowned. Good thing it isn't a limited edition, so the price for it won't go up in value like the Spectre one has.
Subbed and I cannot wait for this 007 review.. I love this watch too. Also it's apparently thinner than the current seamaster..same movement obviously but slimmer case I think? Aluminium bezel insert on the titanium bezel and am I right in saying the 2018 seamaster doesn't have a lumed bezel like this seamaster?
I have the reference 2254.50 and quite honestly I still think it is the most beautiful Seamaster ever produced. I do like this model as well but still think the 2254.50 is king. Prices are going up on it every day as not a lot of people bought them when they first came out in favour of the bond version. Never been a fan of the Bonds Hands and dial. Each to their own.

Really great review! I own a 2008, 36mm, 300m chronometer, with a electric blue dial and love it! Still my favorite watch :-)
Stunning watch - worth the premium - a sports watch you could wear with pride on a special occasion - so two watches in one.

They black bay 58'ed the seamaster 300. Smart move! It looks great👍. Look forward to your survey of the watch, loving your vids!

It truly is quite a stack of money but you're absolutely right, Oisin - Omega have totally nailed it with this one

Luminova is always patina-proof. It will never age and that's why I don't mind the faux patina look too much.

Agreed. Same thing on my MOTM. Love it!
@ I just went to the NY boutique on Madison and they have a non-working example on display and it looks absolutely incredible, much better than the regular version. Super duper light too. They're taking deposits for the full amount with delivery estimated for Feb or March. Tempting...
It's lovely but I have never been a fan of a branded watch, either car or character. I'll stick with regular 300M, but damn that bracelet is nice
Few ideas stolen from the Tudor Pelagos LHD here I think. Would like to see a review video of the LHD if you fancy it?
I agree with you; I prefer the 1993 version of this diver to the larger 2018 models. The quiet man look is what I go for too plus I do not like the larger size.
Great review. You should also do the Spectre Seamaster 300. I’d love to hear your thoughts
Metallica in top hat dun laoghaire 1988...all wore metallic t-shirts ....
Love the watch vintage vibe...great to see the broad arrow.
P.s Happy Xmas from Ireland.
your making me buy OMEGA, darn''it,, cheers mate!! Speedy
Had to watch this again. Think I’m in love with this watch 💕 🕶
I always thought the watch with the rifling in the center of the dial was cool looking. It probably looks better sitting in a watch box then on your wrist though.
The colour is an omega special edition “Donald orange “
Make Bond Great Again!!
Ph MWU I thought it was still in use?
Wonderful Video, wonderful watch, and a wonderful Bond-movie ; thank you, Sir . No time to wear bad watches ;-) Tom/Germany
I put my name on the list at my AD and a down payment for the Milanese version. Then I’m going to sell my amp blue wave dial.
Did not see a video if you actually bought this one. Watching this in Feb 2021 so much has changed around the round in the meantime .
Love it! And am looking forward to your review of it. Thank you for making such great videos!
Just had one on the wrist last saturday - awesome!
i believe patina was an effect of the radioactive materials used in the old watches ... as i understand it, luminova (yellow or white) shouldn't change -- ?
Love this watch, but not so keen on the bracelet, great assessment of the watch
New to your channel and I really dig your delivery! On a side note, what sunglasses are you wearing? I really like the shape and size.Cheers!
I prefer the Rolex submariner. No glide lock possible in the omega bracelet and the bracelet clasp will be at the side of the wrist when you have a small wrist.
Just got mine and love it!
Why the high price? And what's with the aluminium bezel? Should've gone all out and went with a matte ceramic bezel considering the price its going for. Will i get it? Yes, but I'm not gonna pay full price for it. Will get it preowned. Good thing it isn't a limited edition, so the price for it won't go up in value like the Spectre one has.
wow thats one brill watch.... i want one ... cheers
This has me wondering about the aging of the feaux patina as well. Nicely done, sir!
Like the watch, I would get one if they got rid of the helium escape valve, make it more flat or like the deep sea
Very nice review, wonder how many will wear or just put away these pieces unlike a submariner that people wear right away. All the best.
Oh I noticed the Titanium/Sedna Gold limited edition 300 has no date either.
I own this watch . It’s a bloody gem !
