Had no idea how much goes into making the videos. Whole new level of respect for you John. Thanks for everything you do to bring us this content.
Glad you like them!
Thanks John for all you do for the world to see its greatly appreciated 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Amen.
I've been watching your videos for years and everytime I see one that highlights the "behind the scenes" process I am amazed and thankful for all the time (not to mention money) you put into your channels. It must be humbling to know how many people you reach and inspire. Please keep it up!
Ditto that! The production time effort and investment is mind blowing!

I really love all the little shout outs for Tim
Very cool video today John. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Forge On. Fab On. Weld On. Keep Making. God Bless.
Mr John, this has to be the very best video covering the entire range of THINGS a Day in the Life encompasses! Top quality and great inspiration beyond doubt.
Blessings Sir

Thanks for sharing with us John. We do enjoy your videos here on youtube. Stay safe, Fred.
It’s good to see some behind the scenes work so people can get a better perspective of how it’s all put together . My neighbor , a mechanic , has a YT channel and his wife will sometimes go over the comments so he can work on cars or make content for his channel . I remind him that blacksmith’s were the first mechanic’s , Lol . Thanks for all you do
I've seen this before. But I don't mind enjoying things more than once. I liked it John...
Wow! That looks like a bunch of work! I had no idea it was that involved. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks John! You do really have a nice blacksmith studio!😮
John I appreciate all you do. Thank you
Great eye opener for those of us who are UA-cam viewers rather than creators. Blacksmiths have to do more planning that most people realize. Obviously, UA-camrs do too.
I'll watch it again it was good.
There's nothing better than your well-organized workshop where every tool is easily at hand; rather like my (somewhat cramped) airborne surgical instruments are kept. However, I caution you never to disclose personal info because you could be hacked. I always watch the YT ads because it helps bring you income. I love your videos, John. Have a lovely weekend. Wendi 🌻
Truly appreciate the huge amount of effort you go to just to film your work. never knew it was so intensive, and invasive ! all that gear wouldnt fit in my shop ! I now know why your video's are so good. love your work John, Thanks.
Love this style of video just as much as the usual Black Bear Forge videos!
Thanks John ,800 videos, wow, that is alot of time behind the computer. lol,, just seen I wasnt subscribed, but then ,I didnt realize I was on BBF 2. Looking forward to seeing what you make out of that cable.
What a great video.
So many insights.
Thank you John, for the extra hard work you do for the community.

Interesting. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
Whew! Blacksmith shop and film set all in one. I don't have enough room for my next tool buys, so allocating space for all the cameras and lighting would be a challenge. Can't imagine how awkward it must be to move around all that camera gear with hot steel in tongs.
It can really make it awkward to work sometimes.
John, I absolutely love what you are doing here. I could watch this every day. Thank you again for doing this, I didn't realize how much work went into making videos. Dave.
my favourite blacksmith.
Thanks for taking the time for quality videos. Thank you for sharing as well 👌
John, your editing with all those jump cuts was good work.
You're a man of many talents John , I enjoy all 3 of your channels . (:
Great video John appreciate your time and content👍
Knowing you read a lot of comments and all the work you put in means a lot, I've been interested in black smithing for a few years now, I haven't made anything noteworthy yet, but I am working on a fantasy book about a blacksmith and videos like yours and from channels like yours have been so helpful in the process. for example something I took inspiration from from your channel is learning how to find a way to properly heat treat a mystery metal. Thank you for your hard work sir.
Thanks John from Portugal.
Thank you for sharing I have a whole new level of appreciation for your videos
I appreciate that!
I’m still watching your videos from 5/7 years ago, quite impressed with your videography improvements.
I can really appreciate this video. As someone who runs a business and a UA-cam channel together. I can definitely understand and appreciate where you're coming from. I Really appreciate the video and the channel.
hope this comment is one you see with your morning coffee. Thank you for your videos i am going to be getting into smithing here soon and your videos have been a great help.
Following your channel a while now and love the videos, great to see behind the scenes!
Thanks mate for taking the time to invite us into your life. Been watching you for years and have learnt a lot from you John. Lot of work doing all this. Bless you.
Much appreciated
Love seeing how the sausage is made. As someone with zero filming experience, it always astounds me how much lighting it takes!
I truly love your videos they r just you being real and sharing your knowledge and experience. Thank you so much for doing what you do
I’m sure impressed with your ability to manage all that, I doubt I’d have the patience to fiddle with lights and cameras constantly while working in the shop!
That was a terrific and fun video John, really easy and enjoyable to watch mate - good stuff!!!
Thanks 👍
Looks like a great life John!!! You are truly blessed!
I hope you're doing well today, Switzer! Cheers to you
In my late 30's and just venturing into the world of blacksmithing. I love your approach to blacksmithing and your respect of the craft. Your videos have been such an inspiration and a big help for me in grasping so many different techniques.
The background was fuzzy but I’m sure what I saw in the computer clips background was your old climbing gear. I know I saw chocks and maybe a couple cams. I have some 40+ year old gear hanging in my office.
Im 15 years old and have am just starting to build my own backyard forge and I just wanted to say that your videos on the main Black Bear Forge channel have taught me so much and that your work is greatly appreciated. Thanks for making such great content and keep up the good work!
Glad the videos help
Love your work John, really love your snow videos in the skid steer and the cabin on the hill! Im so far away but would love to help out! You have a vision, part of that vision is doing what you can to preserve history no matter how small your contribution is! Its a passion not many have, you and I share a goal, our craft being preserved into the future! We strive to be as good and as knowledgeable as those before us but mostly we are looking back through past times recollections of those who were there! We do our best, the best we can do!
I really enjoyed getting to watch this it is amazing all the production that goes into a video. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for your commitment!
Thanks for the video!
this video has made me know more about blacksmithing as allways. thanks
John you are a all around tough guy godbless you and thank you for your hard work.
Well I learned I’m hitting my welds to hard and they are too cold from this video so thanks!
Thanks John. I'm learning about making My own tools for paintless dent repair ( PDR ) Thanks for Your expertise .
Another excellent video sir. Thanks for the behind the scenes peek. If nobody else wants that axe head, I’d happily give it a home. Ever thought about trying a Kentucky Belt Axe head?
That one is already sold, but thanks
I like this content :) very cozy
Fig newtons & coffee so tasty together
Очень интересно было посмотреть что за кадром. Спасибо за видео
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
John, you bring up the topic I’ve been debating with myself for the last couple of weeks. What is the purpose of my sharing my enjoyment of this craft and does that purpose benefit from having a larger presence. The headaches that come with that seem like they may be greater than the benefit. At the same time, I would love to know that my enjoyment is contagious and others pick up the hobby, too.
Thats an important question. Documenting your work is one reason and if you enjoy the process its probably worth the effort. But it can also be a business decision to help market to potential customers or actually earn a little from the videos. In the end its just a personal decision based on what you feel is right.
Thanks for this
Don't eat the camera, John! 😂
All the lights! I have a couple led lights over my anvil and it tends to create a glare on my work piece. I have use my head to block that half the time. Maybe I need to move them over so it is more indirect.
The lights are all for video production.
Good morning
Morning
you are the best jhon
You never can tell how much work it is until you go through yourself. I just started making video for you-tube a month ago. (my videos are nowhere as complex as yours, and I struggle every time. Especially with editing.)
The main thing is to enjoy the process and you will get better over time, just like blacksmithing.
Good morning John! I would it find it so easy to forget to move the camera. Getting completely absorbed in the forge work, I’d lose awareness of the camera
Personally I find I simply forget to push record way too often
@@BlackBearForgeII 😊
John, like most all of your videos. I am starting out making knives for a hobby. I have learned a lot from watching your videos that i can use in knife making. Black smithing and knife making go hand & hand. You put a lot of time in making your videos. you stay safe. Spring is around the conner.
I swear I have a coffee mug made by the same person
Hey Jon great video. Quick question on the comments… Does it help you when people comment? I began commenting thinking it would benefit you and your channel since I am unable to support financially. Just wanted to help you in some way. However it seems like a daunting task to have to go through all of that so if that’s the case I will make sure I only comment when really necessary but will continue to “like” the videos as I know that helps. Have a great day!
Do you still climb? Noticed the equipment in the background.
Очень круто!!!
👀🍿❤️
I have seen shirts & coffee mugs available here on your channel. Do you happen to have hats too? The Mrs. says i need another hat like i need another hole in the head lol
Sorry, I haven't done any hats.
Couldn't help noticing the chocks on the wall behind you. Do you still get out to do any rock climbing? Cheers.
No. I am at an age where I don't recover from injuries as fast as I used to.
Is there mountain climbing gear on the wall?
Yes, from a past life when I had more time and energy
Hey I'm one of your subscribers I hate to ask but I know I played the video back several times and I couldn't understand what you said you use for your video editing if you manage to read this and wouldn't mind sharing in the comments i would greatly appreciated it love all your videos thanks
Davinci Resolve.
Hey John, what did you do for a living before UA-cam? I assume this is a retirement passion? Thank you!
I was a Firefighter and Paramedic. But I was starting to learn blacksmithing way back then and slowly built a business until I could retire early and work in the shop. I talk about it in the video - ua-cam.com/video/9KsvwSPOn9Y/v-deo.html
Why did you become a blacksmith? As a college student, I wonder why I chose to go the route of a cubicle dweller instead of a more creative passion.
Here is a video I did about 5 years ago on that subject - ua-cam.com/video/9KsvwSPOn9Y/v-deo.html
Hey be careful showing the e-mail address you use for your channel.
People don't have your password, but it's already one piece of the puzzle.
Quite an interesting day.
edit: You should hiding the e-mail better 1:45, it's very visible.
My back hurts for your sake 😂
