Finally someone who doesn’t “over talk” a subject. Great job!
Thanks, Dennis! It’s taken years to hone that trait in, I am Italian after all. 😂
2 minutes, done and ready to go. No plugs, no extra story blah blah. Jenny will be my go to do this stuff forever.
Awww, thank you! I am Italian and by nature talk a lot so I’ve had to really concentrate on getting to the point in my videos.😅
Finally someone who just gets to the point! Thank you for the no bullshit quick run down 🙏
Lol, welcome!
Best explanation i've seen yet. So simple, why do guys have to make it complicated? Thanks for making it simple.
Lol, thank you! 🙌
Couldn't agree more. I spent all day with some very serious, heavy machinery. Chainsaws, jackhammer etc but I couldn't figure this out for the life of me. Thank you kind person the rest of us still belong in caves.
Saw at least 7 of these videos. None of them were that simple.
Thank you 👍
Very simple and easy-to-follow instructions. Thanks!
Finally, someone who explains things in an understandable way. I have always made my husband do this. It was frustrating! This was easy peasy! Thanks Jen
Thank you! It took a lot of filming and editing videos (prior to this one) to learn how to keep it short and simple. Glad to help!
I could not find my instruction booklet for this task, Thank You Jennifer.
Thank you, after hours of trying, you made it very simple. Thanks again.
Glad it helped!
Thank you so much I accidentally bought an attachment that was to big for the whacker but with your help I just cut off the string and reattached it to the smaller one. Thanks again!
You made it look really easy to insert the string through. That is my main issue right now.
Did you remove the cap? That will allow to to see if all four holes are lined up. 💛
Before this video I did this the hard way. This was the best re string video I have found. Super easy, thank you!
Thanks so much for watching! Glad it helped. ❤️
Thank you Jenny. I love DeWalt tools.
Welcome, me too!
They are more my home tools. I'm an Ironworker. On the job the only cordless stuff is Milwaukee. I'm invested in DeWalt batteries over time, so the tools are cheap/good. What state are you in? I live in Indiana, but work in Chicago. Metabo is our normal corded tools here in my trade. I love them. I look forward to seeing more of your videos. I hope all is well. @@Jennyfromtheshop
The reason I picked this video was because it was the shortest. Straight to the point, thank you.
Welcome! Thank you for watching and leaving a nice comment. 🙌
easiest instruction video on this subject to follow
Thank you!!!
I’ve just bought one of these De Walt Trimmers. What a super simple way of fitting the line back on. The instructions were not particularly clear on a number of things, including replacing the line, so thank you!
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching!
Very easy to follow and understand. I just finished adding string to my DeWalt weed eater after watching.
Thank you!
Happy to help!
You’re a BOSS! Thank you, Jenny. 🍻 ❤️
I didn’t have the patience to “figure this out through guesswork.”
Omg you made it so easy. I have never replaced line on a weed eater and this was so east after watching your video. Thank you!!!❤
I’m happy this was helpful! Thanks for watching and commenting. 💛
This was truely helpful. Thank you!
Welcome!
Thankyou so much Jennifer. This video is so easy to follow!
Glad it was helpful!
I guess that is why your video is the first one to come up on a Google search. Thank you! Great video.
It is???? AWESOME! I didn’t know it was first, thanks for letting me know and for watching. 💛
THANK YOU! I was struggling to get this trimmer restrung; no luck with all the other videos, and then I found yours...and you made it so easy. Subscribed!
Oh my goodness, that’s the nicest comment! Thanks so much, happy to have you along. 💛
Jennifer I recently bought the same dewalt weed eater and ran out of string and found a lot of dudes rewinding the spool with new line with different methods However you nailed it by putting the cap on and winding the head clockwise this is the easiest way I've seen anyone do it thumbs up to you !
Thank you! I just followed what the manual said since this was new to me. I appreciate the comment!
I agree. This is the first video that Ive seen where the cap is placed back on and then re-wound. I’m gonna give it a shot and hope it works 🤞🏻. I have a problem where the string keeps coming completely off the spool after about 5 minutes of working. It’s so frustrating that I’ve considered throwing the trimmer away and buying a gas trimmer. 👍🏻👍🏻 to you.
Let me know how it goes. How frustrating to have the line come off! I love my trimmer, I’d hate gas/pull start. Thanks for commenting. ❤️
Thanks! This was THE best explanation I've seen!
I'm smaller or weaker than you, I guess.
I discovered that I had to set it cap up in my lap, hold the top ring, and push evenly across the cap when turning. it's much easier and doesn't take much strength to turn. Wouldn't have gotten there without you!
You’re welcome, and sometimes you have to do whatever it takes! Lol Happy to help.💛
Very helpful. Thanks for taking the time Jennifer. Cheers!
Thankyou for the simple instructions.
My pleasure!
Every time I need to replace the trimmer line I forget how to do it, and I can never find the paper instructions. Thanks for this quick explanation!
I’m happy to help!
Spot on Jennifer. Your video makes life easy.
Great job Jenny
You made this look so easy! And you know what it was thank you very much!
Thank you for the nice comment!
Love this! Quick clear and helpful!
Done it!! Thanks so much, for your simple, yet very efficient instruction!
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching!
Awesome video. Very thorough explanation regarding instructions and direction to spin spool head. Thank You for clarification.
Thank you!
I'd follow you anywhere. Lovely, articulate and competent. Thanks. I'll follow your adivice now.
I appreciate that, Michael!
Thanks Jenny. I was loading it like like a standard trimmer. I should of read the manual.
Best ever!!!! Thank you Jenny! I was doing it wrong your explanation was so good!
Glad this helped! 🙌
Thanks Jen, you explained that perfectly..
That was super easy looking! I just found my new favorite tool channel!
Oh, thank you! Happy to have you along, Jessica 💛
Hi, what a great video, super simple for a job that I was finding to be a right pain. I should have read the manual, I'm glad you did. Lesson learned. 😂😊
People HATE manuals, that’s what UA-cam is for. 😂😉
Sorry, I didn't realise that I had effectively posted the same thing twice. I don't post on here very often. 😀
And yes you are so right, thats what I love about youtube, videos like this. Keep up the good work. Consider me a subscriber now.
@@SandorNemeth2023 It actually helped drive engagement on this post by having multiple comments so you helped me! 💛
Thanks All the way from Ireland. Brilliant advice.
You're welcome from the US!
I watched a different video and it didn't make sense, watched yours and now it looks simple. I'll check your videos first now! Thanks!
Oh...I read to instructions last year but I've lost them!
LOL
Lol, thank you!!!
Perfect, thank you!
Hi, what a great video, super simple for a job that I was finding to be a right pain. 😂😊
Thank you for your help! Kimber
Thanks for great instructions. Just did it. Piece of cake!😀Much rather watch video than read instructions. 😊
Oh, thank you! It’s my belief that every product should have a video for that very reason. 😂
Thank you Sweetheart! Very helpful!!!
Good job! Worked like a charm.
Awesome! Thanks for the nice comment. ❤️
Thank you! So very helpful!
Wonderful! Thanks for watching!
Legend thankyou 😊
Thank you so much for this!
Happy to help!
Excellent! Thank you!
Thank you!!!
I finally figured this out but it would be great if you did a video. I could not get the head of the trimmer to turn. I found that the trimmer head was impacted with grass. After cleaning it out it still would not move. I had changed string before so I knew I was doing it right. Finally decided to try WD40 after that the head moved without any trouble and the line threaded quickly with no problems.
Thanks for the video idea, I’m always looking for tips like this to pass along. ❤️
Good tutorial Jennifer
Thanks my friend!
Brilliant!
Nice video exactly what I needed 🙂
Thank you, glad it was helpful!
Really helpful. Thanks!
Glad to hear it!
I watched a couple of other instructional videos about this topic the other two were a couple of men that forgot one of the main points. The main point is you must use DeWalt line for respooling. It was a question I had and wasn't answered by the other two dudes. I'll give this lady three thumbs up. She's living proof that women pay attention to detail way more than men. And as a senior veteran and grandfather I have no problem at all saying that! Women need to have way more credit for the things they know and do!
Thank you so much for the nice comment! ❤️
Thank you also for serving this great Country.🇺🇸
You're welcome Miss Jenny✌
Why would you need to use DeWalt line? As long as it's a diameter that fits, it'll work
@triplemania5550 Because it voids the warranty if ever you have an issue. Plus, they probably say that so if you buy cheaper line and are unhappy with the performance, you don’t blame the tool instead.
Thanks mate
Perfect thx 👌
Thank you :-)
You are welcome!
saved me $$ here in Dearborn Mi TY

That's brilliant. What's the thickest line have you tried in this?
I only use the DeWalt line specified in the manual.
Just curious, I noticed that the consumption of line is much higher with these Dewalt trimmers. I tried the stock Dewalt line, some other brand same size line and a slightly thicker other size line. All seem to feed 2-3x the rate that my Stihl gas trimmer would use. Have not changed the pattern I am using the trimmer for in my yard. Have you experience the same? A lot of others recommend replacing the Dewalt head with a different head have you tried that?
I can’t honestly answer, this is my only trimmer. Maybe someone will see this and weigh in. The only issue with replacing heads, etc is you void the warranty should there be any issues.
how do I align the inner hole with outer???? and if they are not aligned will this affect it's ability to advance new line?
The two parts on the bottom (cap removed) should spin until the holes line up in a row. They only need aligned when threading new line through. When you bump feed it, they’ll come out of alignment, which is normal.
Good video. Next using the thing.
Me or you? Lol I have a bunch of UA-cam shorts using it.
@@Jennyfromtheshop I used it and it is awesome!! I hit a rock and knocked the top off, re watched the video to figure out how to get string right. Thank you so much for videos.
Oh good! Thanks again for watching and commenting. ❤️
Thanks for your help! If i could find the bell I would ring it..ill find it..
Thanks so much!
Fine job Jenny!!! Many thanks and I sub you... jeff
Thanks so much, Jeff!
Hello! So to get more line out I need to turn it on and press it on the ground correct? Thanks!
If it’s like mine, to self feed it you gently tap it on the ground while running. Correct. Sometimes you have to tap the grass a couple times. You’ll hear it working, it sounds different.
I couldn’t work out why the spool wouldn’t turn, until I realized it was so gunked underneath with grass. Clean it out with a blade, and voila, it turns easily. Thanks.
Yes! I’ve had that happen too. If I have the opportunity next year, I’ll create a short video of this.
I hate to tell you but my weed Wacker is a Ryobi. Works fine. String cartridge for replacements. Easy peasy
It’s ok, I still like you, Joe. Lol
Thanks
Welcome!
Hi Jennifer, I can’t get the unit to turn. Any recommendation?
If there isn’t a good reason, like something being wedged in it, gently try turning it the opposite way. If I remember correctly, the directions say “clockwise” but who knows what perspective the person that wrote the manual was looking. I found it easier to spin it with the bottom facing me. If that what you’re doing?
Cool. 👍🏻
Thanks, Mike!
DEWALT DWO1DT802 0.080 in. x 225 ft. String Trimmer Line vs Square Gatorline Trimmer Weedeater Line Professional Grade. Which one is the best????
I couldn’t give you an honest answer, I only own this one.
Should be able to put the line through the silver eyelet on 1 side and should come out the other silver eyelet and just make sure same length and then spool it without having to take the cover off
This was from their instruction manual and in my case, was necessary because the inner and outer eyelets weren’t lined up. But definitely, you’re right if all is in line. Appreciate the input. 🙌
@@Jennyfromtheshop ahhh the newer flexvolt attachment system models does okay I got ya there not lined up makes sense
I have a new DeWalt trimmer and the biggest pain I found is when the spool is full and the line breaks and the line is no longer feeding through the eyelets.
Are you using DeWalt line in it?
@@Jennyfromtheshop Yes.. brand new out of the box.
You don't have to use dewalt trimmer line you can use any brand you like as long as it's the right Gauge trimmer line
Thank you! I was reiterating from their instruction manual.
@@Jennyfromtheshop I understand there instructions say that I don't think anybody actually reads the instructions for stuff like this lmfao 🤣
@@AntonioClaudioMichael I’m a nerd. 🤣 I think DeWalt specifies using their accessories for safety and warranty reasons as well as overall tool performance and potential damage when using a component not made for their products.
@@Jennyfromtheshop dewalt will not say we won't cover the tool because you didn't use there line its just a ploy to get you to buy there brand line sad thing is most ope companies make better line then the tool brand company's ope company's have perfected there line like stihl and Husqvarna and even Echo I do understand your points but dewalt is a pain to try to warranty anything with
i did it exactly the way you taught....but the line keeps unravelling during use....why would that be..
It should be spooling up inside the housing which would prevent it from unraveling. How long of a piece did you cut? Is it good quality line? Not to ask a dumb question, but did the line feed all the way through the four eyelets?
i might come back she is cute lol lol
A little Hollywood magic in pulling that thing off at first, eh?
You mean editing? Lol I filmed this a couple years ago, but if I remember correctly I think I had to set it on the table and use both thumbs for the tabs. I don’t think anyone wants to watch me struggle.😂
Why about 25 ft ? Can it be more
This is what the manual says, I don’t think a larger string would fit in the spool and release with ease.
I dont think I ever took the cap off to feed new wire. Definitely not necessary
It’s absolutely necessary, you have to spin the inside assembly to line up with the eyelets.
@@Jennyfromtheshop like I said, works without taking it off - try it. All you need to do is spin the outside cap until it aligns with the inside, then feed the wire through and spool it up. No need to take the cap off
DewaltTrimmer
It didn’t turn. Bummer.
What didn’t turn, Dan?
@@Jennyfromtheshop when you're winding up the spool. I'm having the same problem
@@nocthemedic2951 Try turning it the opposite direction than you are. I think the directions say counterclockwise, but that’s dependent on whichever way you’re viewing. If it won’t wind a certain way, try the opposite. Hope that helps.
Nah, too complicated. I'm buying a condo. 😂
😂😂👍🏼👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Who’s here because the manual is so awful?
Pretty much everyone.😂🙌
For the last 18 months I've not let the lawn crew edge or use a weed eater in my back yard. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG I didn't like the fact that they just kept cutting the edge of the lawn further and further from the rock lining the flower beds and leaving bare ground. And the grass was trimmed or scalped several feet around trees, etc. It was a constant battle with them so I told them to just mow and no trimming. I have Zoysia grass so it grows pretty slow. Obviously after a while it could use some trimming. I'm in my 80's so I can't do much of it myself. Finally I decided that if I could find a lightweight battery powered trimmer I might be able to do some light trimming. I decided to buy the LST201 20V trimmer. And it works great for my needs. I have back yard with about 150' of flower beds and several trees to be trimmed. I can lightly trim the whole yard with a single charge! The grass I trimmed was only a few inches high but the trimmer was more powerful than I expected.
