For those Googling, it's Nixie Gear. I like how you mix and match gear. Shows you don't have to spend the $$ to get a useable kit.

Condors H-harness is solid. I attached it to my old HSGI battle belt to make a more modern set of LBE. Way better than what I was issued decades ago. 😆

I love my Condor gear, have been using it extensively for more than 15 years without fail. MCR5 chest rig, the hydration bladder strap replacement combo, battle belts, plate carriers.

Yeah, people poo poo the condor gear, I have used it for a long time and never had any problems with it. I have a similar blet set up and the same belt, I use during deer season, exploring etcetera. I have had it since 2012....hardly any wear on it. It goes really good with the Condor venture pack too. Kind of all fits together.

Nice. I use a M56 harness with just a Condor gun belt joined together with paracord. I wear it low like the Britt’s, easy to put on a pack if needs be on the fly. I run mostly MOLLE pouches on it. I use a large SAW pouch instead of a buttpack. I also use 2 GP pouches, one for robust IFAK with two Turniquets, the other with a complete GI natick Stove / Canteen, cup, and spoon. I use a dual side by side mag pouch with flap covers ( 4 mags) and a single pouch that can hold 3 mags for more ammo ready to hand or for a squad radio. And an extra 200 rd sized SAW pouch. Which can fit different items like mil poncho, gortex top, thin fleece top, or squad ammo or smoke. If I need more water I use a collapsible drink pouch and put where ever it is convenient or I can run a small assault pack with bladder. Your set up is one of the best I’ve seen. I don’t like having a buttpack being overfilled or too heavy when running or rolling over on the ground to another position or crawling under something. Just me.

Nice rig! But since you have the space in the Butt Pack, I’d toss in a Woobie in the Storm Collar. That gives you something to sleep in. The Poncho gives you something to sleep under, while the Grabber gives you something to sleep on.
Oh, I’d add an extra GI Cup to the Nalgene Canteen. That way you could drink a cup of coffee in one while eating what ever you cooked in the other. Hope this helps.

Ironically, I have literally the same setup with my condor harness and nixiework buttpack. It’s just in Muilticam. I also have the Nixieworks LFR, and I use it more than this one. Minus kit components it’s cool to see I’m not the only one that did this. I’m active Army and I’ve come to appreciate LBE setups as a medic. Not a high speed direct action operator so the small belt setups don’t sustain my mission. Nice kit.

I've started working on a setup similar to yours, using most of my OLD LBE gear from the 90's when I was in the army. I like the belt/ harness on yours better than the old LBE setup. Ironically, I have been thinking about a chest pack from Hll People gear to go along with it. Awesome job in putting that thing together

You can put a 2qt canteen with a drinking tube on the upper back panel. If you’re with a group, put your radio and pouch on the back panel, that way, your not fighting with the wires when you need to shoulder your rifle in a fire fight.

  • @TAVAAR7
    @TAVAAR7 6 місяців тому +1

I've got the same condor H harness/belt rig (no issues after years and multiple FTXs aside from some threading on one part of molle in a high weight load spot).
If you want a hydration bladders that's not inside a small backpack theres a 3L wide version from camelback thats worked well for me and fits with my set up, also no issues with durability yet.
For an IFAK I can't recommend Refuge Medical enough (for quality, organizational layout, warranty and customer service), and if your SAW pouch is roughly the same size as the Sekri IFAK pouch it'll fit the Bear Minimum inner pouch perfect. The BearFak inner fits a 200rnd SAW pouch.

Honestly I constantly hear people crying "LARP! LARP!" online these days. The fact that it's thought out and functional even if it's "LARP" gear it's good because even not the highest quality is still good if it works. That includes brands people look down on. I like the set up and especially like the inclusion of the admin pouch attached to the harness straps. I have a mini ALICE pack with MOLLE webbing that I think would probably work well on a rig like yours too so thanks for the suggestion.

On the chest pack I did something similar (I didnt make a video tho lol) and I would add bungie or something from the bottom of the pack to your shoulder straps somehow, if you needed to run or just any dynamic movement and that thing will be smacking you in the face 🤣. Sure you could just take it off but if a firefight breaks out you sure dont want to be messing with gear lol, and maybe with your rifle on it helps to hold it in place but seems like it could get wrapped up in it too 🤷. Just something I noticed that could be a potential problem but other than that great looking rig and setup 👍.

Great video❤ I have a question actually 2? First How much does this weigh? Second where do you carry your pistol?
For leaving my camp for scrounging runs in a SHTF situation I have a belt with center pouch, 2 mag pouches and a couple smaller pouches and Knife.
And also a revolver holster, with a double shoulder holster as shoulder support, for the belt.
Along with an almost empty pack for supplies I would find. But love your setup too.

Options that's all we need. It appears to be an interesting concept, but with all those miscellaneous pouches, if you're dashing through the woods in a real life scenario and you trip and fall, something could end up missing; if you need to keep moving you may not have time to retrieve it. Nothing can come loose inside a backpack, but I did enjoy the video, and having options is definitely key! Thx for sharing. keep up the good work & feel better, God bless👍

Damn dude you need to start writing a script or something. You ramble on way too much. No one cares about your head cold, no one cares to hear you repeat yourself. You could have condensed the first 5 minutes of this video down to about a minute or a minute and a half. "Hi and welcome to The Prepared Wanderer. I'm getting over a head cold so bear with me, but today we are going to discus why I chose this style of belt set up for my equipment. In the past I have used an Alice system as well as other types and forms. While each has their own pros and cons, I have found this current set up works best for me. Now lets dive in." There you go, simple to the point (even mentioned your head cold) and quick. Not over 5 minutes of rambling and repeating yourself. You are on camera, you can record over something. You can also edit. Seriously, knock off the rambling.
