- This episode finds us back at Fusion Motor Company (Fusion Motors) shooting the true definition of a "restomod." This is a fully restored 1969 Plymouth Road Runner with some modifications that make it an incredibly fun driver. Tubular A arms, big disc brakes, 707 hp Hellcat power plant, 6 speed Tremec transmission and a few other things. It looks almost factory but is so much better than what it was in 1969 so sit back and enjoy the ride...

I am 72 years young and this Plymouth Road Runner is a killer and like you guy's were saying maybe in the near future when everyone is being forced into the EV thing these old school muscle cars will be even even more cool......I just can't get into that EV car thing sorry
Rallye Green for Plymouth and Chrysler) was only available for a limited production run in the spring of 1969. The seasonal availability of the color not only made it incredibly rare, but also earned it the nickname “Spring Green”. Even at the most prestigious of auto events, you’ll be lucky to find an original, real-deal “Spring Green” car.

My dad built this car in his shop in Iowa!!! So cool for you guys to show it off! ❤️💪
That’s so great!! Please tell him I loved the look and it drove perfectly!!
Grandpa knows how to turn heads
Your Pops did an amazing job🤙🤘😎
That's cool as hell shout out to pops 💪
My Great Grandparents were from Sydney Iowa then moved West to Seattle
Then moved to Vancouver island British Columbia Canada
Your Dad built a sweet Mopar!
This is why I love cars
Why we
Ohh this is why??
Dude! This is easily in the Top 10 of cars you have featured! This thing is so damn cool! This is yet another reason I love watching your videos! Can you imagine calling a Road Runner a "Sleeper"????? Rad!
I agree Ryan!
We interact with autonomously driven electric vehicles the same way we interact with autonomous Elon Musk types. We ignore them and go about our day and way. ;-) Peace.
Love this build. The perfect mix of modern and keeping the classic looks
Pistol grip shifter!! Yes!! This is how a classic MOPAR with the Hellcat engine should be set up!!
This right here is the stuff 70s era muscle car lover's dreams are made of!♥️
My gawd, doesn't anyone know how to keep their master cylinder from rusting? Paint it, clearcoat it, clear coat matte finish it, WD 40 and hit it with a micro fiber once in awhile, Hoppes #9, something.
Well, they were highlighting it being a real driver
Call me ocd but that’d drive me nuts to have 3 headlights. I’d have to go twin turbo just for that reason 😂
I agree. If it were my car I would make those hood grills functional and have a custom air box feeding the motor cool air 😎
At least balance it out and take away the passenger’s light also.
you can have the supercharger without that
Make a wire mesh to cover the opening of the openings (I would also remove the passenger side interior headlight) and paint the mesh a silver white to blend in more with the headlights. BTW, I LOVE the white interior. My first car back in the 70’s was a 1970 Mach 1 with deluxe white interior.
It certainly is a bitchin car. However, I gotta admit…my OCD alarm was going off as well.
WOW all I can say I just hope the owner humbles a few Challenger hellcats it's at least a half ton less.
That is not only mopar-perfection, but muscle car perfection. The stance, the color, the wheels and tires, the motor. Everything! Man, there's a lot of "need and want" there :P
Whoever built that car nailed every element spot on .
I thought the same thing
Love this car, including the pistol grip. And that's the way I'd do it, even though the pistol grip wasn't available in 69.
Street raced a 68 Roadrunner with a 383 and a four speed in the mid 70's. Put a Hurst shifter and a Hurst T handle on that car and then you will really be impressed! It weighed about 3/4 of a pound so it gave mass inertia and going from second to third, well, like punching someone in the face with heavy brass knuckles.
Love the comment and analogy!
Taking me back to my childhood days with my dad's 69 road runner 440bb 4speed on the floor. Love it awesome car
I love these older cars. My dad had a 68 T-bird coupe with a short stroke 429...I totally enjoyed being pinned to the seat in it as a kid. We talk about it all the time, he's 78 and I'm 48. Wish I could find another one 😢
These cars don't need anything to improve their looks. They are absolutely awesome they way they came from the factory
Gorgeous, the way I would do one. Subtle and bad ass. Color matched rims and the dog dish caps are killer
This thing has the stance of my youth. That is how the hot rods were back in the day. Still love it today
Easily my favorite. Everything I would do to my car to make it fun and reliable the still look original. Absolutely would not have taken out one of my headlights though.
I love this build! And it drives perfectly
How's that work with 2 on one side and one on the other.
Very sexy 69! I own a 69 with a 440 4 speed manual. A lot of fun! Great content! ✌️
Don't know what's cooler, the paint scheme, the red line tires or the hunk of iron and aluminum under the hood. Terrific build on every level.
I’m right with you. Absolutely love this build
This car is perfection to me, I love the original look with modern drivetrain and suspension
...and the builder or owner didn't go for goof ball 22" "pro-touring" rims. Respect.
Beautiful ride, shame the cold air intake sticks out like a sore thumb. Throws off the whole aesthetic of the car, given that it looks like a busted headlight..hate if you want? But with a price tag I'm sure is north of 250 grand, a better solution should have been considered.
I get it yet personally love the look cause you know it’s supercharged
Sweet car would like to see some more mopars...super stock cars
69 roadrunners are beyond awesome, had a 383 4 speed car in high school.
Absolutely stunning car awesome color and love that the car pretty much looks stock but has all the goodies hidden 👌👌👌 so tasteful
MOPAR MUSCLE 💪🇺🇸💪🇺🇸💪
Cruise Control was available from the factory in 1969, my 383 automatic Sport Satellite had it. The option code was N88 if I remember correctly. It stands out in my brain because it was an uncommon option, especially in a Plymouth.
That said, given the choice between an original, numbers matching Road Runner and this car, I'd go for the original. But then, a Pistol Grip in a '69 sticks out like a sore thumb to me since it wasn't available until the '70 model year.
You have a good memory. N88 it is.
This is the look I'm going for with my road runner. That hell cat motor is just a dream though. I'll be sticking with the 383 😢
Yeah it’s a helluva car right ? It is a dream but my 71 RR is still a 383 with a pistol grip. It works fine for me on my budget…
@richarddevoe5871 71s are Wicked too. I miss the 72 we had. I want to own a 71 with a 72 grille and taillights. I hate the cheapo standard raised side markers Mopar went with across the board in 72. The 71 marker lights are a thing of Beauty. 👍
I am a Mopar guy. Sweeeeet love it. OLD SCHOOL
This, Hellcat and 6-speed, and LSA 6-speed swap Nova are the vehicles I dream of being able to afford to restore and build one day.
One day. Gotta keep busting my ass and it’ll be a reality
Dodge could get vinyl roof also , the reason Plymouth had vinyl for its roof vs the Dodge Daytona was because they wanted to hide the unfinished body work. The Plymouth came about from Richard Petty wanting to come back to race for them and leave Ford but wanted Plymouth to offer a winged warrior.
That car is a perfect example of mixing old with new. It all looks and works great together.
Luv a tuff MOPAR shoot.. thanks Shawn 💪🏻
Nice car. The Pistol Grip shifter wasn’t available until 1970 though.
Didn’t know that about the pistol grip but I sure love it on here
Pistol grip was 1970 but cool though!
Definitely got my attention 😁 clicked on instantly!!!! What a beautiful ride ✊
MOPAR OR NO CAR!!!! BAD ASS CAR!!!!!😎👍👍
When I had my 69 RoadRunner back in the day when you would see 5 or 10 of them on the streets every day I was running Cragars at all 4 corners, then later around the mid 80s I took the Cragars off and put the black steel rims on it with the dog dish hubcaps like this but said Plymouth on them.
Beautiful car, love the build! Not everyone will will be able to afford electric cars, and I'm in the oil & gas industry, we're not going away anytime soon. Cheers!
That's how a classic car has to look
now this i love, old school looks with modern engine and stuff
Me too! Such a perfect combo on this car
Very cool really enjoyed!! 👍👍
Really cool car didn't know about the Superbirds having vinyl and the Daytonas not having them. Big fan of the steelie style rims.
This roadrunner is absolutely stunning in that green
I love it, I just wished he would of took the other head light out, I think it would look more semetrico other than that it's bitchin. Good 👍 sound, just enough 👌 Thanks again Shawn. TCB
I saw this car in person on hotrod power tour in 2021. Pretty sweet car.
This would be an awesome road trip car
Back to Tuesday Friday videos luv it
This is where I’m going with my Duster. The over all look. Don’t think it’ll be a Hellcat though, a 392 in a little A-body should be the balance I’m looking for. I’m torn, I have black steelies on it now that I love but I’ve been considering Trans Am Engineering Superlites in a magnesium color. We’ll see. Finishing some projects on my old Dodge 4x4 for a Moab trip this October. Then I can turn to the Duster.
Cool ideas. 392 is plenty to have a great driver car
I owned a 69 Road Runner 383 4spd, and I miss it when I see another one. 69 is my favorite yr. I do not like vinyl tops but when you put a HEMI in one I could fall for most of them. I love the whine and giddyup Thanks Shawn you made my day. I hope the clutch pedal is softer than my old 69, mine was like a very heavy spring and made a sound of its own. I let some folks drive it and would giggle if we had to set at a stop light too long lol. You could see their leg shaking anticipating the release. Fond memories.
Beautiful car
Looks..."stock", heh heh heh...and will flat murder 99% of cars out there, while looking great too.
Gorgeous car.
Best damn channel out there...glad you survived your previous crash (saw that episode too).
Thank you and glad to still be here. This is such a well done build. Looks like that and drives flawlessly!
This video made my Year. Absolutely Love this Roadrunner.
I need to add this car to my collection..
That's a real sweet car. I love old school sleeper muscle cars, just like what I grew up with. Perfect. 👍🏻
Sweet Ride..Pistol grip with modern technology..Nice!!
Every week I wait for this program, Shaun; I never know what you'll have on it but I know that it will be cool. Love everything about this Roadrunner and am presently asking myself why in hell I ever sold mine. Little things make the car.....subtle, like the pipes running clear of the back bumper. Hey, if you're getting rid of exhaust fumes; get rid of 'em! The dog dish hubcaps, white striping, white vinyl top all coordinate to make this car stand out in a way that is different and one of a kind. Keep the Faith, Buddy. Tom P.S. More Mopar, if you please.
I saw 6 speed manual and clicked so quick
The cold air intake gives it more noise not smaller pulleys. Even with the stock airbox they still whine good.
Absolutely NOTHING cooler than a hellcat swap while leaving the vehicle looking original
Agreed and this one is really well done
As subtle, stock, looking this vehicle appears, IMO this is one of the coolest builds on your channel to date. Can't wait for your upcoming episode of Fusion Motors. Getting a up close view of all those bitchin cars in their shop, would make me happier than a fat boy at a pie eating contest.
Ha"guys"I'm"Elliott"from"dc""it"called"rally"green&it"also"came"on"the""1968z/28&ss"Camaro"s"ok"
One of the nicest cars you guys ever had.
Stock Sleeper,. New factory parts
Vinyl Roofs? Everyone hates them because they are all black. Black destroyes the roof line. White Vinyl is another story. Imagine that white on white combo on just about any Mopar muscle car,. And with those colors Mopar offered??? The car is perfect. Not my choice in green but that's my point. It still rocks with wht on wht.
Love the color 👍👍
I would not ever buy an EV even if I could 😂😂😂
Lol!!
Yup, you can stuff your modern electric cars up the chimney for all I care - this is absolutely GORGEOUS! As Steve McQueen once said, "New stuff is NO good!" This most certainly IS!!
"Looks stock" DON'T FEED ME THAT. The missing headlight is going to appear stupid to some, and telltale to others, and MAY JUST GET YOU a ticket in some situation. 69's never had pistol grip shifters ("they kept the pistol grip in there so it feels correct??")
My license would be suspended prolly within a week. Sounds great and looks unassuming great build
I Really Really like this car its just right in what I like in style looks right off show room floor with a very very nice surprise 😊 👌 ☺ 😀 😄 THOSE WERE THE BADASS DAYS ROADRUNNER,GTX,DAYTONA SUPER BIRD
I don't think enough people will buy into the autonomous vehicles man. I know people that are complete squares who wouldn't trade their drive to work for anything. I know Im no square but, I'll hold on to my single turbo sn95 like I'll hold onto my firearms. You can pry them from my cold, dead hands.
Perfect Plymouth Road Runner, Rally Green sweet mopar. Excellent looking car so original.
Beautiful sleeper. But I do wanna say something here. All of these car makers that have and will be coming out with electric cars... too little, too late. Our ozone layer is already screwed. So why not continue with the gas powered motors that all of us car guys LOVE?
I'm not a fan of a pistol grip in a '69 or the console neither was available in RR's until '70. I knew a guy that had a Roadrunner with that exact color combination brand new in '69.
I had a green 69 GTX 4 sp, 4 motors 2 4 speeds and 3 parted out Chargers 1 was a t boned RT with a 4 speed in maroon and i parted it out after the 4th motor blew up at 95 mph in 3rd gearwith 4 people in the car.Got thrown in jail for a few months parted the cart out.Everything got ripped off.I swear i will never own another green car again.
Perfect combination. At least for me cars from the 50/60/70s are way better looking then the toys the build today. Sure the tech you get in nowadays cars is more convenient, reliable and has more creature comfort.
If you have the money you can have the best of both worlds. The way better styling of the old cars with the way better tech from the new ones.
Great Looking Car Thanks Another Fun Video
Ok the hellcat swap is good
BUT. Dodge went old skool built the hell a phant
The 426 hemi was brought back all the way to 526 hemi
This car deserves one of those
I luv the whine of a SC early in the morning
Nothing like it
Insanely amazing ride!! You guys are great together. Talk about being on the same page! great show, great car!!
Thank you. Yoel is a good friend and has an amazing business. And yes…I love this car!
Their so brave their not making gas cars...Screw mopar, making the same mistakes they did in the 70's when they almost went bankrupt.
Luckily it has modern suspension components. Original suspension wouldn’t be able to handle the power of that motor
Such a sick Modifikation🔥😎🤩
Mopar or No Car😎
Sick!!!!!
God I'd love that engine in my 66 el camino oddly enough it didn't have any lettering or insignias on it so I bought the letters that spell out on the back now, Hell Camino666
It’s a Road Runner, how is that considered a sleeper. Back in the day a plain Jane car was considered a high performance car.
Dammnmmn I’ll take it as a donation. Only 707hp lol. 707hp means a lot of speeding tickets 😂
The white stripe takes away from the body contours. Please remove it. Thank you.
Very cool build. Cant go wrong with a supercharger EVER!
EF6 Bright Green/Rallye Green, In the spring of 1969, both Dodge and Plymouth debuted one of the first and arguably one of the rarest High Impact options. Only available on a limited production run, Dodge named it Bright Green, while at Plymouth, it was called Rallye Green. No matter which name it goes by, EF6 is a rare and desirable color.
Thanks for the spot on answer…I read some of the same info but didn’t know for sure. I appreciate and hopefully others see and read this comment for accuracy
Saw that car on the 2021 Power Tour. It's a killer machine...
Let me buy it.MOPAR OR NO CAR...
I could go for that. 69 Roadrunner is my favorite. No extra frills.
Very nice car well done except there reasoning of leaving the headlight out, just doesn't look right
Crap, it sold already.. I wanted it bad.. that is perfect.. great job keep bringing great cars.. thx
Thanks and yep…went quickly
@@AutotopiaLA Great content.. Keep it up.. Im heading out that way soon im gonna stop by. I have few cars out there you would love to drive.Dan
I thought the music at the start was the exhaust note… sounded like a mean straight piped 1.6 liter 4 banger
For the love of all things holy, please turn off the music when there's glorious exhaust to be heard.
Damn what a car, it looks factory especially with the steelies and then you hear that Hellcat whine but the cherry on top of all this build is the pistol grip shifter, this car just blows me away.
