First story: if my mom did that (I'm glad to have such a strong and loving mom) I would call out her out on the "support" and ask, "What did I get surgery for if you were supporting me?"

First story: I would also cut the sister out too. Because it's clear that she will do whatever 'mommy dearest' will ask of her. As evidenced by her setting the OP up by not telling him that his mom was waiting at the hospital for him, and then taking mom shopping instead of coming back to the hospital.

I used to have a downstairs neighbor like that. She flat out told us to stop moving around out apartment and even accused of of *gasp* using the toilet. Her excuse is she was a nurse and needed to rest. That the previous tenant managed to not make any noise so we can to.
Here’s the things; manager had overhauled the place, doing everything he could to reduce noise, the previous tenant never moved in for their entire lease, and this neighbor was a loud talker that often had late night guests that were loud talkers. We could hear every word of their conversations even with the windows closed.
Why do people with sensitive ears and light sleepers get bottom unit apartments?

I feel so bad for OP in story 1. I've also had 15 surgeries. My last was 2 years ago when I was 45 to have my aortic heart valve replaced. My 1st surgery was when I was a kid. All the others have been as an adult. My husband has been there for all of them. Most were at a hospital an hour from where we live. He'd go home at night to take care of our pets, and neither of us could sleep. He'd come in the morning and we spent most days trying to hold hands and sleep. After heart surgery I wasn't eating and they were just about to put in an NG tube, which I hate, and he brought me sushi. Which I scarfed. He's been there for post care. He's watched me cry as the pain was unbearable. I wish I could be there for OP

I can relate sooooo much to the second story.
I lived with roommates for two years with a crazy old lady down stairs.
she would complain on every single noise, once me and other girls were laying in bed just talking and laughing until we hear banging from the floor.
because God forbid we can't even talk in our apartment🙄

First story - reminds me of when I ended up in the hospital for 10 weeks due to an infection that cost me my right leg. My girlfriend at the time couldn't be bothered to drive me to the hospital, so I ended up having my neighbor take me. Once at the hospital, I passed out and was in a semi-coma state for 14 days. When I woke, I was alone. I called my girlfriend and she was busy shopping as well but eventually showed up a few hours later. But you could tell she'd rather be anywhere else. I finally told her to go home to feed the dogs. This was when she tried to take the dogs to be put down because they always irritated her. Thank goodness I was a friend of the employee on duty at the time she tried this. My friend took my dogs in until I finally got home.
Finally, I was told the antibiotics that was keeping the infection from spreading wasn't working anymore and the medicine was killing me also, I had no choice but to have my right leg amputated. When I returned from surgery, literally TWO MINUTES after being rolled back into my room my girlfriend dropped the keys on the bed and said "I didn't sign up for this, to take care of a worthless cripple the rest of my life." And she walked out, the last time I saw her.
Thank goodness now though, six years later, I have a woman in my life who is very supportive and encouraging towards my recovery, so the story continues on a higher note. But I feel for OP because I have dealt with a similar situation.

For the first story, I'm so sorry for the OP. A mother shouldn't be thinking of herself and lying about support. That's just wrong. I wanted my mom to be in the hospital for me when I had my gallbladder removal surgery, but that happened in 2020, when the virus was going on, so she couldn't. I hope OP puts their mom on low contact when they got the chance.

Funny thing is, I live in an apartment and have a portable AC in my bedroom. If I didn't run it when I go to bed, I would never be able to sleep. Helps drown out the apartment noise from the neighbors. Nothing super loud usually. Just normal talking, tv, basic noises from living, etc. Except one woman that cranked up her music after midnight and ran it until 5am and was constantly screaming at someone on the phone from the bathroom, which is litterally next to my head while I'm sleeping. First time I ever talked to her was when I went over at 2am and asked her to turn the music down. She yelled, "who the F is knocking on my door at 2am?" Then slammed the door in my face after I asked. Second time she was banging around and yelling in the bathroom to someone in her living room at 3am. I just knocked on the wall a few times, not hard. And she basically punched the wall repeatedly back. At that point I raised my voice through the wall that it's late and I'm trying to sleep. She them screamed back how much she paid in rent and that means she can do whatever she wants. Well I pay more rent....but ok. Every time she was loud I just recorded it and sent it to the landlord. After that 2nd time where she screamed at me through the wall, she got kicked out. Now the person living there usually has their tv up kind of loud 24/7, but it's manageable. With my AC on I don't hear it. Just use the fan function during the winter.

Holy cow! I think the second storyteller is my stepdad from an alternate universe. We used to have a crazy lady like that who lived under us. For some reason she insisted that we were playing civil war and world war 1 music. At the time, it was just me age 11, and my little sister age 8 at the house. And we had just gotten home from school. Not even 10 minutes before she was banging on her ceiling. We thought she had fallen or something and went around to look in her windows, but she was only pounding on the ceiling with a broom. She said it was still playing when we knocked on her door, but we didn't have anything turned on at the time

I'm so glad I live in the South. Every house is required to have a AC unit. Majority of it is central AC. I've never lived in a home without it and I can't imagine living somewhere where there was a huge heatwave without it.
I'm the crazy person who doesn't wear a coat with snow on the ground and opens their window in 40° weather.
Now my family is Korean and I've spent some summers there. Most homes don't have central AC. I believe most apartment buildings do. Me and my cousins would be on the floor gasping for air. there were times we literally begged my aunt to turn on her "aircon"which was a portable AC unit that looked like a locker and it would be so blissful. I couldn't live there permanently though, as much as I love it

She had me at her house drugged pretty bad on pain meds which I'm allergic to just to feel like she's doing good. My wife was furious and reported me missing when I didn't come home. Took 3 days. And nope nothing was done about it. Now I make sure no one buy wife and I know about my medical. It was scary. Barely remember any of it. Was so sick and on heavy pain meds. Didn't even have my phone.

I had a similar story from the second story. I really didn't know what a Karen was at the time, however she was one. She kept pounding on her broomstick, pounding on our door, getting all upset as soon as she saw us (my mom and I), because we drop a can or make a loud noise during the day. She called the police on us when we made one noise after 11 pm. She made a note saying to stop banging on the wall by the stairs. I took a picture of poorly-made note from her on the wall, gave the picture to management, took down her note because, well, I know it was her. She came to us one time saying that she had problems, aka "trying to be the victim", however I didn't believe her because I knew she was going to do it again and again. She tried to get someone on her side just to get her way as well, however the other neighbor refused and called management. We called management after every incident she made on us. Finally, after many attempts with us and other people complaining about her, management finally told the first-floor lady that she would be evicted if the other people in the building make a complaint about her.
After all that, we moved because my brother was going to have their first nephew and things have been peaceful where I live now. We don't know what happened to her, however I don't really care anymore. She done and over with.
If you are on UA-cam, my former neighbor (yes, I know your name as well), I am going to say this: You should have lived on a one-floor apartment so you can live peacefully along with your nasty problems. However, I know that you are an entitled Karen.

Last story: honestly just never expect to pay less for the same thing, bc you pay less and you get less, it's like an airline-ticket, you can go ahead and book first class if you wanna drink your expensive champagner, but don't expect it in economy.
Here in germany it's actually better comparable to train tickets:
There is first class, self explanatory, than a ticket where you can take any train to your destination at any time.
Then the one, where you have to take the same route, but again at any time. Lastly there are the ones where if you wanna go earlier or miss your train you have to take the slow af regional trains, which makes 3 hours into 8

The last story about the hotel:
I work in a restaurant and we offer 3rd party delivery from DoorDash, Uber, grub, etc. You won’t believable how many calls we get asking for refunds, complains about “our” delivery drivers, and where’s their food.
Where I work we not responsible for the food once it’s picked up. Also we can’t give refunds because the order wasn’t made though us but thought the 3rd party. Heck, the 3rd parties don’t even pay for the food until the end of the month and they will only pay for the food if it wasn’t cancelled or refunded.

First story: as a teen, I had a random night where I could not get any sleep. I fell asleep at 6 am and woke up at 615 because my grandma called my mom at her dad's house where we were staying. He was severely sick and in the hospital. I went to the hospital and tried to sleep in the uncomfortable chair for a few hours but never complained. My grandmother came to get me and I tolerated shopping with her because I needed clothes and she always has to go shopping. I did all that, without complaint despite no sleep. Though I did collapse on her bed when we got to her house. I was 17.
Second Story: my mother in law used this to frighten me out of getting an apartment even though this was why she was yelling at me. She had a headache and was in her room. My son had a doctor's appointment that we just got back from and needed to eat, but we share a kitchen with them. My sister in law starts yelling at me because my two year old is stomping in the kitchen and he's being a kid not doing any damage so I didn't do anything about it. I told the sister in law to stop trying to tell me how to parent my child, I could tell him to stop but it would work as well as her mom telling her to stop. Her mom comes out and starts yelling at me for all this and basically threatening to throw us out. I hurried through feeding my child, holding back tears because in the current economy I can't afford to live anywhere else. But unfortunately I've been forced to live with my mother who isn't much better while my husband lives with his.
Third story: would have never agreed to this. I regret driving a coworker home once because she thought it was going to be a regular occurrence for us. She gave me COVID which gave me the space away from her to ensure she never could ask.

First Story: I'm sorry to hear that, that sucks.
I'm lucky that my parents didn't do that to me especially when I had to get Brian Surgery in 2007 because of how bad Epilepsy was affecting me, now when I was getting my knee surgery dealt with, it was just my Dad, because my Mom had other things to deal with something else, I was fine on the knee since I only had 2 chipped Bones, but when I was getting Brain Surgery in 2007, that was really important to me because of where the problem was located, I had a High Risk of having a memory lost, even if surgery didn't happen, the memory lost would've completely hit me (complete memory lost) by the time I turn 25 (according to the doctor) and now I'm about to turn 27 in February 2023
So basically if I didn't get the surgery in 2007, I wouldn't have any memories by now, and I'm happy that they didn't leave the hospital when I got Brain Surgery in January 2007.
Second Story: That reminds me of the time where I had to stop at my friend's apartment before his Wedding.
So my friend and the others were already in a different city (about an hour drive away) for my Friends Wedding, I was asked to deal with his cats before heading over, I said yes and went over to take care of his 2 cats. While I was doing my job before heading to the Wedding, I took a step on the floor where I found a squeaky spot on the floor, when the squeak happened, the neighbor below me yielded "KEEP IT DOWN UP THERE, I'M TRYING TO GET SOME SLEEP"! (BTW this was in the morning) so I've tried my best to not hit the squeaky spot while I finished the job but it ain't easy, I did finish the job with the cats and then Traveled one city to another for my Friends Wedding.
Last Story: Good thing I've just heard the story or else I wouldn't have known, so last year I did book a Motel for the first time because my uncle and I went to Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada for the Grey Cup Final (CFL 🇨🇦🏈) and our Motel that we've booked was in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada.
It was a fun event and when I was finding Hotels or Motels online, I normally check the reviews and price before booking. Apparently when my Uncle and I arrived, to the Motel, they gave us a heads-up that the Furnace stopped working on the Day we arrived.
Luckily they added a heater in the room just to help us stay warm while it was going to be below 0'C during our trip.
They said sorry, and I said it's ok, so for our full trip, we had to deal with the electrical heater, and by the time we were leaving, the repair guy arrived.
Now since I'm planning on going to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada for the 2023 Grey Cup Final, I'll give Hotels/Motels a call for some questions, if they have a pool but it's suddenly not working, that's fine with me, as long as I have a place to stay (since I'll be flying over) I'm good with it.

The editing style in the first minute of the video looked good, but I noticed two problems. Problem 1: The text blended in with the gameplay too much, and the text didn't fit in with the story theme of the video. Problem 2: Most of the colors were only used for one word which makes the text give a scattered feeling, using a color for each paragraph might fix this issue.

The part of the video where one woman offered to watch the other woman's child and ended up driving for hours out of her way and being used. The woman was in this position because she was breaking up with a "toxic" ex who was verbally abusive.....look at how this woman treated someone who offered to help her out. Apply this treatment to how she treated any man in her life. Is there any reason why a man might call her on her crap and then be called verbally abusive? Imagine living with a woman like that every day. How long would it be before any reasonable person would call her out.
My ex wife was literally the most inconsiderate person I have ever met. She constantly used people and even her so called friends avoided her. Her family members would avoid her. Some would even ask me to talk to her about it. Any time I tried to talk to my ex wife, she would deny, deny, deny until I gave her examples and pointed out her friends didn't even want to be around her. This got me labeled as controlling and verbally abusive. Yes, when women are told the stuff they are doing wrong in life, that is verbally abusive now.

Last story - I disagree about not informing guests ahead of time that a listed amenity is not available. Guests expect it to be available. To require them to ask is ridiculous. If a hotel lists 15 amenities- do u expect a guest to enquire about each one? Every time they book? Would the reservationist *want* guests to query whether each & every amenity is available?? Consider the time wasted, not to mention the frustration on everyone's part.

first story: that is one of the saddest stories I have ever heard why is it even on am I the Jerk because she's not the Jerk the mother is 101%/100% let's say I am sick and my mother didn't show up I'd not only tell everyone but I would record my mother and I'd ask her like kiri 1994 said What did I get surgery for and how many surgeries did I get when I was 15, I'd also ask stuff like when I was in the hospital at the one time you came did you stay and if she said yes I'd say No you didn't you said you felt tired which was lie and then went shopping with my sister who said she'd stay with me I cried really hard, and then I'd Upload and show it to everybody

The therapy story - the coworker was entitled, but i blame the American "healthcare system". She shouldn't have to go anywhere. therapy is one of the best medical visits for telehealth. However, CMS (medicare and medicaid governmental socialized medicine for the poor and elderly) pays a fraction of the cost of in-person visits, so doctors are incentivized not to do virtual visits. This is true for follow up visits, like checking about lab or test results, etc. Insurance companies follow this same rule, even though virtual visits are so much more convenient and cheaper all around. This story should never have happened because the coworker should have availability to free healthcare and virtual visits, as in every single other industrialized nation. I'mma step down from my soap box now.

OP needs to blast mom AND dad on SM. Who the FUDGE NEEDS an invitation to a surgery? Make sure that the SM post is on public. If you just share with friends, it probably won't matter. Also wherever the parents work, they won't want their colleagues know how crappy they are to their family. I have family members for whom non-family people think that they are so great. A lot of the time people I don't know will tell me how lucky I am to have those family members in my life. I tell them the truth. You aren't related to them, so of course you think they're great. But they treat me like crap. Once they begin to think of you as family, you'll find out the truth.

    The morals of the stories:
1st story: every child deserves a parent, but not every parent deserves a child
2nd story: fuck condos, no matter how cheap they’re
3rd story: sometimes being unnecessarily kind, has unforeseen consequences
4th story: if you wanna stay at a hotel, plan ahead

I object to the very liberal use the word 'toxic' and these videos. Not everything is considered toxic.
With that being said the story about surgeries I 100% agree with
