    For cantilever slab practically don't used 8mm Dia with 300c /c at least 10 to 12 mm dia required

    Madam I have a small doubt. You said we need to provide full Torsional Reinforcement for at 12, 14 & 20, But at 14 the slab is only discontinuous at one side so we should provide 50% of Torsional Reinforcement. Please clarify my doubt madam. Thank you

    Hello mam, in cantilever slab you take spacing 300 c/c is it practically possible?? It almost 12" spacing between the two bars.

    Madam pta is 0.167% for fs 186.81. I can't determine the value of MF. Pls clarify it madam. May be some error in calculation

    Maam why do we assume the slab and beam to be simply supported? Why not fixed mam ?.

    Today I am a little bit confused about that how you calculated the self weight of slab? Was that l×b×h?
    And did you take it in meters? Like 2.5×1×.125 meters?

      Don't confuse bro LxBxH=1x1x0.125
      Density of rcc is 25kn/m^2
      Self weight = 1x1x0.125x25

      Self weight
      L=1m
      B=.125m ( cross section)
      Concrete density- 25 kn/m3
      There fore
      Self weight- 1*.125*25 (m*m*Kn/m3)
      . = 3.125 kn/m

    mam we know that the minimum percentage of reinforcement is 0.12% of the gross cross-sectional area if HYSD bars(Fe 415) are used. The minimum percentage of reinforcement is 0.15% of the gross cross-sectional area if mild steel bars are used. so in step of main reinforcement 05:09 by using minimum area of steel will be 0.0012*1000*125=150mm2 which is greater than the calculated area of steel . why u didn't consider this point?

    everything is very good and useful for students but you have taken live load on slab as 1.5 KN /m^2 which will result in very low value of Ast

      We consider per metre width

      1kn approx if u will convert it into kg u will found 1000 kg so we consider that live load (furniture, man movement, fridge House hold material etc) as 1000 kg in per square meter
      Apart from this if we will talk about floor finish load means tiling load, waterproofing load etc

      Basically we need to find ASTreq and ASTpro. And to find the spacing we take AST of 1 bar that's why it needs to be changed

      For slab we design for 1 meter length. So , DL of Slab will be 25xBxD. We take B as 1 m.
