You should definitely reach out to Michael Romeo from Symphony X for your next Guitar Universe camp. He's such an incredible player yet I feel like he doesnt get the recognition he deserves.
I was thinking about that, while listening to Symphony X and MJR (love everything these guys do to absolute bits!) the other day. After all DT and SX have even toured together in the past and JP and MJR only have compliments for each other's playing.
...AND they already know each other from a couple of tours (Gigantour 2005, Chaos In Motion 2007).
Still waiting for my Symphony Theater supergroup with Romeo & Petrucci on guitars and Russell Allen on vocals :P
Symphony X has a vastly better vocalist than Dream Theater.
It depends on what you mean by "recognition he deserves". As far as I know, Romeo is considered one of the icons of modern metal guitar playing.

MEANSTREAK - at the CHINA CLUB - uptown! 1993. I met Rena (and Mike's wife, also). Rena - so humble and mellow. There were some (Hollywood) celebrities there that evening, too! Fun memory for me.
