I appreciate the fast and efficient delivery of information my friend. Pausing to take notes because you fell behind is better than sifting through 20 min of nonsense. Thanks!
Supertask Music you think all you need to know in 4 minutes is healthy learning?
Did i say that 4 minutes of information contains everything I need to know? That is an incorrect assumption. I simply appreciate the efficient delivery.
What information on the humidity problems did you get other than" buy a dehumidifier "?
this fomat of information coming quickly packed into every second is great, you can stop, go back, whatever, it's all there packed in tight, luv it.
Man dude, all I gotta say is THANKS A MILLION, ALL your vids are AWESOME. Your Micro machine commercial guy voice is off the hook! Love the vids, I watch em all, keep em coming!!!!!
chandler seward Thanks a MILLION and ONE for your wonderful feedback Chandler. Seriously my friend, it's comments like yours that really keep me buoyed and motivated to make more vids. If there's any subject you'd like to see given the J4G treatment then let me know. Thanks again-appreciate each and every subscription to the channel. Peace, Everest.
I love the way you cram a lot of information into a short video. Very efficient and confidence-inspiring.
Thanks CalorieRebel-I value your time! :)
Great video's & lots of information in a short space keeps me switched on thank you.
You have alot of great and educational content you have and this is why i subscribed to your channel, i like how enthusiasticyou are and how you go into detail with the science aspect of why it happens.
Steven Stroud Thanks so much Steven. I am genuinely grateful for each and every subscription that pings into my inbox. I love sharing my passion for growing, science and life in general! :) Thanks again for subbing.
I'm a tech support agent for grow rooms. This is a great video for a basic understanding of how humidity effect plants.
Hopefully you see this question but I think it is relevant to this video and rather odd... I run a couple small dehumidifiers to a drain but was thinking of saving a large portion of the water they take out of the air to use for watering my plants. It wouldnt be the only source of water but could make up a decent portion. What are your thoughts on that?
Excellent video! Just went though this so know exactly what your talking about!
Steve Byers Thanks Steve. As I said in "Humidity 101" - it's a sort of "conflict of needs" that larger, mature plants transpire more and contribute more to grow room humidity, just at the point when you need it to be lower! It catches a lot of growers out, as does CO2. The importance of maintaining adequate air movement (i.e. oscillating fans) is often underestimated by new growers too.
I can see a dehumidifyer for larger spaces than a 2x2. Im using couple smaller fans to push air in and pull air out, a small chemical co2 generator. Im wondering would using damp rid help with the Rh? Sure its more work but im trying to use low tech for high tech results. This grow im doing started because i scored a 150w hps ready to grow light.
+Everest Fernandez Is it possible to clog an exhaust filter because the humidity was too high? I have a humidifier, and I've read that dissolved solids from tapwater can become airborne and clog the filter. Ever heard of that?
For a 4minute video there's sure is ALOT of information crammed in there ! nicely done.
Ivan Fernando Thanks Ivan! :)
its the opposite problem for me. when i take my plants out of the propogator, the humidy drops to 30-40% ive had real trouble trying to fix this and ended up just watchin them suffer in the end. the leaves kept curling sideways at the tip and it looked like they were wilting,
the rate of growth was also very poor. it seems that they dont like low humidity and high heat.
I left my humidifier on during the day levels where @ 57-59 humidity after coming back from work my bud plant was all droopy … why ? Top soil looks dry but pots feel heavy
Wow man I had to keep checking the speed make sure I wasn’t fast forwarding this vid you was spitting your stuff out like twista then 😂😂😂 too stoned for this had to watch it over an over 😂😂🔥
dude. I love your videos!!
+Martin Morales thanks Martin :) good to hear. Much appreciated positivity.
Another stellar submission from Everest! Excess humidity can be avoided in small rooms by switching from HID to LED, less IR helps lower room temperatures and mean plants transpire way less, go through less nutrient solution and less attractive to bugs and molds. This can help offset initial cost of upgrading to LED, I suggest MCOB grow lights, the newest (and coolest running) LED technology.
Robbie Dang I'll definitely be getting busy with LEDs in the next phase Robbie!
Robbie Dang And yes, you are right-less radiated heat will mean cooler temps and less transpiration. However, I feel that I should also point out for any novice growers out there that transpiration is the driving force for growth too! In fact, some LED growers have to supplement heat with a fan heater to achieve their desired results. All growers want healthy transpiration rates and this, in turn, requires us to remove the resulting humidity-we don't want to lower transpiration in order to reduce humidity as it is a natural plant process.
perfect speed ... no time to watch snail videos
Right lol my joint still lit
That was rich in information thank a lot ;)
Bro I need you.
I’m learning coco coir. Soil pH was 8. Hot it down to 7.5 and now down to 6.5. Woo. That sucks.
I’m getting yellowing from the new growth and I can’t figure out how to get it green.
She’s an auto. She’s in 72 deg at 50RH. Just re amended with dr earth acid lovers and worm castings. EC is .4 in my well water. But I’m using my portable ac condensate to dilute that to .2 ec. Slurry test says I had 1.6 EC.
Cal/mag +? Iron deficiency?
I’ve been trying to get this right for 5 weeks. Lol
Root zone temps are 67-69. She’s in week 5 of 10ish.
Love all your videos brother and thank you for all you’ve done to help me! 😇
you are amazing. very informative and a quick distribution of knowledge like hydrogen Clay balls.. haha
q. can we compare rock wool to sponges which we use to clean cars? if yes y can't we cut them and use like rock wools?
ta mate
For a very small soil grow, would pH'd water from a dehumidifier be a good source of "flushing" water? It wouldn't have the additives of municipal water supply.
I really appreciate your educating us with your excellent videos. Thank you.
+Stay Cool Hello amigo, no need to flush with soil, just feed regular water - yes, the purer the better - dehum water sometimes picks up heavy metals from the pipes so I would recommend distilled or just leave your tap water to sit for 24 hrs before using it.
Awesome as usuall. Thank you.
PaXa Peret Thanks PaXa :)
Im re watching your old videos now, think i have Everest withdrawals...
Hope your all doing well mate
Thanks for speaking fast! That way you can put more input.
How do you deal with temps at 80 and humidity at 30-35?? Should I turn my humidifier on to get my humility at 40-45? Should I worry about it?? Hope you can help!!
+tv76g hi TV76g -- use a humidifier to get RH to 40 - 50 in flower and 60 - 65 in veg. Failing that, lower the strength of your nutrient solution by 20% to counteract the high vapor pressure deficit that high temperatures and low RH causes.
@Everest Fernandez Really appreciate how helpful these videos are, you are a great teacher. I was just wondering, since I'm growing in a really humid environment (Miami) in a sealed shed outside, should I use closed system or open system ventilation. I plan on running CO2 and using a small dehumidifier and AC that I got online. Also, please start a Patreon, I'd love to support your channel. Thanks!!!
DJBioMusic Thanks amigo. You should run a closed sealed system, as well insulated as humanly possible, with AC and CO2. Remember to stop dosing CO2 an hour before lights out and then exchange the air in the room once before lights out. Don’t underestimate the load on your dehumidifier in a climate like yours. But you’ll do it with the right tools buddy.
4:18..Herbacious guttation Are you thinkin what im thinkin?
how does the process change when using LED's? I just bought a PlatinumLED P1200.
+juicyjumbler Hi JJ-the process does not change significantly with LEDs. LEDs put out a lot of convection heat (rather than infrared) which still needs to be dealt with by your garden's ventilation system, as does the moisture transpired by your plants. If they are growing at the same rate as normal, you will need to replace depleted CO2 at the same rate too. Best of luck with your new lighting fixture.
Quick n easy thanks bra
Is the supplemental CO2 just a nessicary component of sealing the grow room, or do high CO2 levels also help the plant manage the high humidity by increasing photosynthesis or something?
Helps the plant. Increases growth.
hey you did make a VPD too low video all along..
so it begs the question, if you can't control the environment perfectly is it better to slow down and possibly starve her of more sugars, or do you crank up the lights to try to get her transpiring at that more normal rate,
Say you dial into 50% and you spend a week at 65% you can get the same amount of water coming thru the plant if you can get that leaf temperature difference to increase. So cranking more light into the plant makes some sense right? an extra feed, increased airflow, and plan ahead for the weather conditions that will really limit your chances and you should be able to keep up with the weather fluctuations that come with summer growing.
Intense. Great Vid.
I’m uk it’s damp outside is best to have windows open or closed to lower relative humidity in grow room ?
UK is a moderately humid place. Extract your grow room’s air out the window and replace with air from an adjacent room in your house
@@Just4Growers I turned my extractor up and it at low 60s,out window and opening the door to room is not practical at moment, worse come worse will open tent door, as seems to lower a lot when I do that
They are the exotic variety lol
Thx
props on the hortilux platinum though thats the best thing about ur room lmao
Ha ha .... errr thanks-I think ... :)
Everest Fernandez I have a question. I currently air cool my hoods and my humidity it kind of high. I was wondering if I don't air cool my hoods would that help drop the humidity in my room?
Quest makes the best grow room dehus on the planet. Never worry about humidity again. Check out the Dual 155
Clifton Tomasini Hi Clifton. Yes, I hear great things about Quest too. I'll check out the Dual 155 and hopefully get my hands on one or something similar when building my next room. Please consider subbing my channel! In any case, thanks for stopping by. Peace and happy growing, Everest.
Forgot: I have been pH drifting from 5.5 to whatever the soil pH is. Watering 3 times a day.
Growers Love Everest! Hope you get to remove the age restriction!
Thanks amigo - yes it was removed :)
Everest Fernandez 🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎉🎊🎊🎊🎉🎊
Why do you have carbon filters for tomatoes and veggies? Not to heat you out. Love your channel.
Sysadmin Syndicate Thanks amigo. In winter I duct the hot air from my grow room into the living quarters above (rather than to the outside) in order to heat my house. The carbon filter stops it smelling of tomatoes, which my wife doesn’t like! Lol.
I guess they do tend to stink. I really appreciated your lighting and ducting videos tonight. Trying to decide on a sealed garden or keep venting. Anyway, cheers bro.
young plants thrive in high humidity espec in veg stage im at 80 percent but unfort have cple bigger plants still in veg in same tent so its not gonna be very good for those but my seeds i planted are more import at the moment
Mans on speed
Not only that if you grow DWC don’t let the reservoir get above 74 F. And don’t let it drop below 64F. Root rot probly goes for cocoa choir as well I would imagine if your root system reaches these temps that it is perfect for harmful fungi to spread. Mush love growers🍄❤️🙏
Edit: not to mention complete nutrient lock out.
Breathe. Breathe my friend!
How do you know so much! Your like a plant genius. Do you have a job that related to biology or did just read a lot of books??
Jacob Doherty Thanks Jacob! I edited a popular indoor gardening magazine for several years-that gave me the opportunity to meet and learn from real plant geniuses! :) I consider myself more a generalist-but obviously I love to read and continue to learn constantly.
Hey Ev, you say how important VPD is, then you give a range of humidity...without temperature. VPD should be between 8 and 10 (google VPD chart). That is, at 65% relative humidity, room temperature should be 20-23*C. At 28*C, rH should be between 70-75% (wow). Also, molds proliferate if the room has large temperature swings, which creates condensation.
Thanks for your comment Crysmatic. I intend to focus on VPD in a separate video! Incidentally, the first image you get when you Google VPD chart is mine! ;-)
"if your grow rooms air is less than 100 rh, which I sure hope it is" My fogponics setup would like a word lol.
Hey i'm the hairy backed guy across the street. I need friends too.
grow tent wont drop down passed 60% I have a dehumidifier and its doing its job but still wont drop down passed 60%
4 by 4 by 6ft tent .. any suggestions
+trash amerika Hey Trash. What is the ambient humidity in the room / building? What size extractor are you using? Does it vent directly to the outdoors? What is your min / Max temperature? What model dehum do you have any what is its rating?
how about too low humid
yeah.. they are quick fixes??
good vid
sin hova Thanks Sin :)
How about way too much light
Drop the playback speed to .75 fixed it for me lol
I accidentally turned my cold window into a waterfall with my high humidity 😅
Lol!
Try out nukeheads products. U will love them
nuke heads da best brah
Everest, i love your vids, however.... can you PLEASE increase your volume levels?
+Dan Welsh Thanks for the feedback amigoz
VERY great information vid.Man u talk like an auctioneer but was on point about everything. Also u helped me out a bit just now so thank you..im subbin hit me back peace (G69)
+1nonlyg69 Fantastic - glad you find the vids useful. Will check you out. Thanks for the sub. :) PEACE.
my dehumidifier turns the room into a furnace
Yes, my portable dehum adds three Celsius to the room temp easy.
Me: oh goody. My growspace is humid ...🧐
Watches vid : get a dehumidifier.
Me : 😒 🤷♂️ yup that's Everest.
Everest: Every problem has an expensive gadget as it's solution. But hey, look at the size of these hydroponic cucumbers I harvested in the middle of February 🤗
*Shout out to all my growmies out there too man 🌱
Grow room humidity, especially in ventilated rooms, will inevitably take their baseline humidity from the ambient surroundings. When bigger extraction fans just aren’t cutting it (because ambient RH is already high) you need to tackle the problem head on - and for high humidity in your grow room when all around you is more high humidity, oh goody indeed you need a dehumidifier. And you’d better oversize it.
@@Just4Growers yeah I hear you, just a big investment for me rn. I wish there was a hack to carry me until I can scrape up to get that dehumidifier. Hanging socks filled with silica kitty litter hardly made a dent. You're the man, I'm a big fan of your videos but you've got all the best available grow gear out there. Me....not so much ☹️
you know what's funny is i grow without ac without dehumidifier just a few led in a room that's all never have a problem growing i don't even use newts just a fish tank i use for water free to grow dont cost anything
This dude has to be high as balls. 😅
Big big salty balls.
I really don’t understand why it had to be dramatically fast when -explaining something- but uh okay
0.75 speed is n answer for your problem...
Haha go to -5 speed 🤣 😂
ur vids are so good but makes my heart go listening to you talkin so fast
you can slow it down from the settings from the play/stop/pause bar in video. i did put it at 50%...lol
Why the hell would you grow anything other than pot indoors? Equipment, nutes and power is ridiculously expensive
Christ on a bike, do you ever stop to take a breath? You talk faster than Tim Pool on speed.
Na I'll use more b12
Holy fuck.... switch to decaf man. Lol
I don't what you said, all I know is their was a Lot of talking
Great job! Maybe a little less crystal meth? ;D
Damn stuff is so more-ish my friend! But I'll try and wean myself slowly off it. :)
Bro slow it down a piece this aint tiktok
Most dangerous video on UA-cam lol
Clearly indoor vegetable growing is an unsuitable topic for minors...
Everest Fernandez what kind off example are you setting for the younger generations lol
SLOW-THE-FUCK-DOWN!
This is what happens when you get way too good at horticulture, and hybridize weed and coke.. . .
Also high heat, high humidity is ok so long as you have the 3rd leg to the growth triangle co2.
As heat and humidity increase co2 MUST increase inversely
Great info and video but you talk to fast. Sometimes I can't handle listening to you
Yes he sounds zipped. No chance to hear and absorb any info..his loss
Sounds like you snorted the whole bag in one line. Talking a million mph!
Dude.... nobody came here looking for info on growing strawberries.
Give us info on what the VAST MAJORITY are here for.....
Truuuuueee
He can't monetize a medical grow because of YT T.O.S. He can't even mention it. UA-cam self censors by attacking content creators. He made so much money from youtube that he can afford a ridiculous electricity bill to grow tomatoes along with his weed. If you put yourself in his situation you'd get why he did this. He isn't stupid UA-cam's policy is stupid.
are you trying to speak that quickly? please slow down just a tad
Beula Thanks Beula. Many other viewers agree with you so I'm definitely toning it down a bit in future vids. :)
appreciate that, thanks for the response!
Beula Likewise, your constructive feedback is invaluable when it comes to improving my videos (a never-ending project!) - please subscribe if you haven't already and you'll be updated whenever I upload new ones. Thanks again and happy growing, Everest.
+Everest Fernandez (Just4Growers) IMO you have made a video that has pause, stop and rewind. If someone doesn't get it at first they can use those attributes to the video. If you slow down, your video will be much longer and may not be able to fit all your info. ; you're doing great !
Everest Fernandez yeah, I definitely appreciate the fast pace of your videos. It's like an article that reads itself to you more quickly than you're able to read it, letting you absorb the info better and quicker, while providing video and audio to "see" what they're "saying". There are too many long, drawn out, non concise videos out there chock full of the same info @ 4 - 10x the duration for people who don't like it.
No you didn't cover everything.
Which items were left unticked on your checklist?
Yeah what other dude said. Chill.
Chilling is only going to raise RH. ;)
@@Just4Growers actually chilled my room down and lowered my RH by 8 : /
Just slow down thanks
Even at .25 speed he is still talking too fast. Great info, but smoke some herb first next time.
You say indica, I say sativa.
Oh my you speak so fast...
Good thing we can control playback speed now 😂
Holy fuck slow down
Ithinkwebothknowthatsnevergonnahappen.
Where did he get this cocaine ?
Bogotá.
One small eeny teeny tiny little criticism that i have for this liiiiitle video right here. SLOW THE FUCK DOWN.
I shall take that on board and store it in the appropriate container.
Slow it down.
Well captain obvious, thought you maybe had a new idea lol
Slow the hell down
Idk why people talk this fast 🤦♂️
Why u talk so fast!!?
get to the point already.
Don't know why he had to talk so fast. Has someone bet him he can't say it all within s certain time limit or something? Really snnoying. Would it really be that bad to actually just speak at a normal speed but your video being a minute or so longer??
TheMrmoonlight Thanks for the feedback MrMoonlight. Didn’t mean to snnoy you. If you’re watching on a computer you can try adjusting the playback speed by clicking on the cog icon and selecting X.75 playback - apparently it makes me sound deceptively and convincingly normal. Happy growing. Everest.
bro, speak normal.
+i -ritical ... dude, adverbs.
Sounds perfectly normal to me. So much to talk about so little time....
you talk to fast dude.
Sorry, "thumbs down" on delivery of information.
plants and comedy dont work
a bunch of useless info if you don't know how to grow a plant you tube is not going to help you
Why are you speaking like your zipped out..Slow down so we can hear what you are saying..absorb the info..and then proceed
