21:33 that docking music is soooo good! I spent many hours on this game. It takes about 10 hours just to get started, but it's such a majestic game. Amazing music. Just flying around unknown space, learning what's going on, and talking to random ships and docking at flower farms.
THANK YOU Chrushev This game me an excellent introduction and information on the backstory of the X Universe. I appreciate all of the hard work that went into creating this. Thank again.
I re installed this 2 days ago. While I own all X series up until the abysmal Rebirth, the 1st always had a special place in my heart. I like it that you only have 1 ship, 1 life and you don't really have total control over the stations you build. No universal traders, no scrips, no toys that tell u where to buy for low price and where to sell. Nothing. Just you, the ship and your memory. Awesome game. In current campaign I'm taking my time. I built 2 ore mines and a silicon one in Seizewell, a SPP, 2 teladianium and 2 dream farms in greater profit. Once that was established, I built a nostrop oil refinery with a flower farm in Split space, to test the waters, all Split food plants seem to require nostrop and soja husk. If it works, I'm planing to build 2 more in Thuruk's beard, plus at least 2 soja husk stations to cover Split space. So I have like 10 stations before even leaving Teladi space. I reached Argon, and plan to fill it with at least 4 Plankton Farms, while Borons get minimum 2 delexian wheat farms. Couple of mines, especially on that big guy in Ore Belt, possibly a SPP or 2. Then I'll bless the Paranids with BoGas factories, more mines, then use Argon Rimes Facts in Teladi and Split space, yeah gets complicated lol, lots of traveling. So much fun.
Thank you for this! Planning on buying the entire collection on this winter sale, but I will be playing starting with the Reunion. Good to have material like this to familiarize myself with the lore of this very intriguing universe. :)
I don't recommend you to start with X3: Reunion since it is the other half of the two-parts story started in X2: The Threat therefore starting with X3: Reunion is like starting a story from the middle, you would really better start with X2: The Threat also you should drop the series after Reunion because EgoSoft dropped the original intriguing plot and charismatic characters and turned X into a mere space sandbox full of generic characters and meaningless plots starting from X3: Terran Conflict therefore you would better stick with the original trilogy only.
This game was released as a playable demo on a magazine free CD (forget which magazine). I played it once and was hooked - have played all the X games now, thousands of hours!
Eventually yes. Seeing how these are 100hour games it will be a while before I have time to play through X2. I want to do "X-Tension" as well, which would come before X2.
+Thomas Vleminckx You can actually finish them pretty fast, this playthrough involved basically doing everything. Later games in the series (X3) are much better games with a lot more stuff to do.
Yeah, I just played through it a few weeks ago as well. took about a month for the whole thing. I enjoyed it. You just have to approach it with the right mindset.. its a trading/empire building game before being a shooter. So cant go in to it expecting a shooter. It was a lot of trading/traveling the first 20 hours or so, after that it was more exploring etc. later games in the series are much much better at being more combat etc... Id recommend checking out official forums they are very active.
Got the superbox on steam about 6 months ago and only a week ago decided to play from the begining. I'm about 35 hours in the long haul but I'm getting really annoyed at the travel.
is there anyway to blow up the asteroid besides a hornet missile? I am soooooo jaded flying around, and the trip to get a hornet feels like a trip too far.
How come in your game you get a yellow highlighted conversation prompt but in mine they are all blue and I have to keep track of how many times I click down to know what I'm about to say?
I could never beat this because my game was always bugged.. I would get to the point where I had to communicate with Ban Danna and when I would reach his ship, they'd say he wasn't aboard and the story would just stall there. I could never get it to advance to the end.

You are wrong, there is actually software in XBTF which shows you the lowest and the highest price of things
Thanks for making this! It's surprisingly hard to find English walkthroughs that show off the story bits the older games had.
You are welcome

Phenomenal, immersive space-sim trading game. Thanks for this!!

just a hint: you can fill up your loading bay to max with "end" and sell max with "home" keys
35:30 That song is so soft...
Yeah I love that song!
Are you planning on doing one for x2 the threat, because I thought you did a fantastic job with this.
81 hours, jesus... I deeply regret buying all of the series now...

My avatar is the 50's pinup of the naked brunette sitting on the crescent moon....
Profitssssssss!
Quality exposition exploration.

Cool! Can't wait!
Argon one is not there at the end.
What a sad ending.

Cheers, much appreciated.

Yeah, those games are pretty buggy. X2 is even more so. I think it gets better after that though.
Is it me, or was there a lot of storyline contradictions there?
Wait, did you destroy the mothership by ACCIDENTALLY RUNNING INTO IT?
In X-Tension you could destroy it by ramming its needle with Paranid Pegasus (an M5!) and survive :D
