  • The T-Fal ActiFry is a product that I highly recommend. It really does a good job frying food with minimal oil. The ActiFry is very versatile and easy to clean. It would be perfect for a college dorm room because the clean up is very easy and combines the best of a microwave and a hot plate. I wish I had one of these when I was in the Marines. This would also be perfect for small households because you can cook an entire meal in it.
    I will really only be using the ActiFry as a replacement for things I would traditionally fry, but many people use this to prepare "normal" meals. I have seen Chili, fried rice, stir fries and casseroles made with this. I have seen prices range from $110 to $299 on Amazon.
    If you are on the fence, or are a kitchen gadget junkie, I highly recommend it.
    Information on the T-Fal Actifry Air Fryer

    Below is information from the T-Fal website:
    The T-fal ActiFry is a low fat cooker that enables you to cook tasty dishes while reducing the amount of fat you are having. The ActiFry is engineered to minimize the use of oil while cooking. This revolutionary appliance allows you to enjoy great tasting a wide array of dishes but at the same time stay healthy and feel good about what you are eating.
    With ActiFry you can enjoy cripsy, great tasting fries that are low in fat! By using just one tablespoon of oil you can make 2 pounds of fresh French fries, enough to feed a family of four. That one spoonful is over 200 times less than a traditional 3 liter deep fat fryer, which not only means that your food is substantially more healthy, but it is also more economical. The French fries have only 3% fat per serving.
    Moreover, ActiFry is a versatile cooking appliance and can be use to create a variety of helathy, low-fat dishes with minimal effort. ActiFry is not just for French fries, it enables you to cook full meals such as chili, risotto, gumbos, vegetable, or meat stir frys, seafood, and even yummy desserts. ActiFry enables you to create your favorite dishes that are not only delicious but nutritious. Each recipe requires from 0 to 2 tablespoons of oil for four servings.
    How Does It Work?
    ActiFry is the result of 10 years of research and development. It has a unique stirring paddle and pulse heat system which cooks foods to perfection. The food is evenly cooked thanks to the stirring paddle and the pulse heat system will ensure an even distribution of the oil on each piece of food. Moreover the T-fal ActiFry heating system and stirring paddle combine to cook your food to perfection, hands free! No pre-heating is required; it's ready when you are.
    To make French fries in ActiFry, simply place 2 pounds of freshly cut French fries into the removable pan, drizzle over 1 tablespoon of your preferred oil, and set the timer. The ActiFry does the rest, just wait for the timer to end and the alarm to sound. You can then sit and enjoy real French fries, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, safe in the knowledge that they only contain 3% fat.
    For other recipes, simply place the ingredients in the pan as directed in the recipe, close the lid, set up the timer, and switch it on! ActiFry has a steam free lid and viewing window that allows you to keep an eye on your food while cooking. The automatic lid opens at a push of a button for your convenience.
    Finally clean up is a breeze. The removable pan, lid, paddle, and tablespoon are all dishwasher-safe. That's everything you need to clean taken care of.

    Do you know if there's really that big of a difference between this model and the new T-fal actifry express model? I've been trying to find a comparison video for so long but can't. Do you think that it's worth buying the new one (it's about $80 more)? Or should I just stick with this model? All I know is that it cooks faster, but this model seems to do just fine with the cooking time so I don't know if I should spend that extra money.

      I don't know much about the T-Fal Express. I can't see how it could be worth $80 more than this model. I bought mine on Amazon, and paid much less than the normal price. I think I paid about $110 on one of their warehouse deals

    Does this hold any odors like the older air fryers I would cook fish then fries and the machine would keep that fish smell and fries and other food would taste like fish ect

    I have a Tefal but really it's just an expensive chip / fries cooker. The paddle makes it impossible to cook anything else as they break up .. also because of the paddle you are kinda forced to do 1 thing at a time. Take the paddle out and you are in for a mess as the cooking bowl has a large centre hole in it which the paddle covers...

      I kind of agree with you. I like my other airfryers a little more than this one

      They do sell a basket attachment for it.
      Bought an original actifry with no timer,that was never opened the other day for $50 Canadian lol Works great. Local store sells the basket I need for $30,so I'm all in for $80. If I had bought it on Amazon in Canada,I'd be in over $150. So I'm 😁

    • @NoHippieBBQCooking
      @NoHippieBBQCooking  7 років тому +1

      While I love the Actifry, the timer is basically useless. It beeps when the timer goes off, but doesnt shut the machine off. I guess most ovens dont do that either. I mainly use the timer just to let people know how long something took to cook

      So I got one of these in a business used by 23 dollars, this unused but
      lacks fin that moves food, I hope to be able to get it, thanks for
      answering.

    • @NoHippieBBQCooking
      @NoHippieBBQCooking  7 років тому +1

      To be honest with you. I dont use the paddle that much with food that is breaded because it has a tendency to knock the breading off the food. I only use my paddle about 40 to 50 percent of the time.

    I have one, or had one. It broke after three years and lots of money. Now I have to service It. Its been almost two weeks and still they have not got back to me for where I can get It repaired. Its a wide world of choice we live In now. I bet Its going to cost me just about as much to repair It as It Is to get a new one. Which I am not going to do. I was hoping for aleast 8 years. The turn around thing In the middle also breaks. I bought a new one and I can see that the new one Is starting to break. The little turn around thing cost me 30 bucks.
