I play ToB with tears in my eyes. I knew, that all those houres spend playing the most epic saga in history of cRPG games, are about to be over. I saw all these ruins, and my loyal friends trying to fight with the evil of children of Bhaal with their last breath. And at the end... When I destroyed the Throne I read the epilogues of my team and... I cryied. NEVER in my life I felt so connected to the story and characters. IMO Baldurs Gate Saga is for games what Lord of the Ring is for books
I was 17 when I finished ToB for the first time over the course of two weeks, during summer break. This was 2001, ofc. I relate to what you're saying. I remember feeling a deep melancholy over finishing the saga, which lingered for weeks afterward. I remember the strange mixture of sorrow and happiness I felt while reading the epilogues. No item of media had ever affected me that way before.
@@KreatoR459 BG3 is on the novel basis so most of the companions are dead or missing. To sum it up, in the end its a completely different game with different story.
Coming back from the Marching Mountains and discovering you're too late to save Saradush, then fighting through a huge army to get to Yaga Shura with this music blasting is pretty much the most awesome thing in the entire BG series.

I don't know what younger me did but it didn't work this time around. Two weapon style with Crom Faeyr and upgraded Runehammer felt so fuckin' OP on my Ranger, but only at the 10th attempt lol
Utterly epic. Made me feel like I was fighting gods, and it was especially awesome because the battls themselves were so intense and difficult. Downright thrilling!
Oh, yes, you're friggin' right. The party fighting their way through waves of soldiers and mercenaries, Yaga-Shura charging from the end of the camp...and all this accompanied by this epic music. I almost chewed off my tongue playing this encounter for the first time!
Draconos Insertnamehere Really? That fight was super epic and tough for me! Definitely not anticlimactic whatsoever, in fact every single fight in the expansion felt like it belonged in a movie, it was so amazing and drawn out. Best RPG ever made. Watcher's Keep is by far the greatest dungeon crawl in any game.
I Would LOVE for Baldur's gate 1 and 2 to be remade and brought up to date with graphics and also have the world, features and game play mechanics expanded even further. Can you imagine anything more epic? I also imagine it would be a huge hit.

You should've tried the Ascension mod for Throne of Bhaal by David Gaider (Bioware Senior Designer). It's his vision of what Throne of Bhaal should've been. All boss fights are much tougher. For example you fight several dragons & wyvern type enemies when fighting Abazigal instead of just him with a few salamanders. Also Imoen gains in power throughout ToB (Due to her being a Bhaalspawn). She gains a +1 to all of her stats. She also turns into the slayer just as you did in SoA. Much better IMHO.

I'd play him as a Berserker up to about level 20 and the Bladesinger/Asylferund chain mail, then dual to mage just in time to get all those fat XP bonuses you get at the end of SOA. There's something therapeutic about firing off Time Stop and Improved Alacrity (with the Robe of Vecna) then Improved Haste, ADHW, Comet, Mordey's Sword, Pierce Shield, Breach, Hopelessness, Berserk, and then when the time stop ends, start hacking!
