There isn't a legal obligation to sell records since this number isn't guaranteed. Usually you have to pay back your advancement and then anything after that you usually split with your label 60/40 with the higher number obviously in their favor. I only know this because my first hand experience getting with a small local guy who started a label called rebellious angel records and it was what's called a 360 deal. You pay your advancement back and it's only after that is paid back do you make any money and even after that it's still only a 60/40 split and it was the shittiest thing iv ever opted for in my life next to military service.

I just learned yesterday how to properly string a floating bridge after my tremolo bridge block fell out of my guitar while trying to clean and restring it.
