when i was a kid i had ravage, buzzsaw, and frenzy-the blue one-, later i got the stegosaurus and t-rex, dont remember their names but ho boy did i played wit that!
Cool vid! I loved Ravage as a kid. His reappearance in Beast Wars is what got me into Beast Wars and collecting TFs as an adult. The first figure I got as an adult was TM Cheetor, and I haven't looked back...
Thanks! Yes his return in Beast Wars was surprising! Although I read it was a calculated to move to bring in more fans of the OG cartoon. Nothing wrong with that...as I love how they tied everything together :)
Very fitting episode, I started watching Beast Wars and was surprised to see Ravage and other G1 characters there. That Singapore story you had was neat, makes me miss Singapore even if I went there for just a few days because of a family vacation. Toy stores there had a lot of stuff if I'm remembering correctly.
Yeah those were two of my lucky hunts . Funny how both involved finding Ravage 😅 Singapore is an excellent place! Especially for the food and the convenience of everything around you 👍 it would be the perfect place if it wasn't so hot 😅 and yup toys are plentiful too 👍 thanks so much for watching!
Excellent video and thankyou for the Arrested Development reference. I thoroughly believe that Soundwave was one of the main reasons the TF's bettered Gobots. Love Ravage. Only have one toy of him. The garbage siege version which someone gave me as a gift. I remember the story Megatrons Master Plan where he chased Spike and you could see the size comparison. Always wondered what I would do in Spike's position. Also hate it when he's referred to as a dog. Keegan Michael Key said it once. Shat me.
Thanks Brother! I LOVE Arrested Developement! And I love that that good grief Charlie brown walk was a reoccurring joke in the show! It's right up there with I just blued myself 🤣 yeah the Siege version is rough....but I'm OK with it...until a better version comes along🤣
No mention of the MMC Ocular Max version? The one that actually transforms into a (approximate) life size cassette tape with case. It’s not the best design and it’s a little floppy but it’s the only one to push the gimmick to its limits. I think that’s pretty special. Wait, no, the jaguar jaguar is probably the pinnacle of that department. What a good idea! 😊
Yeah sorry bout that. While I try to cover most of the versions. I usually focus on what I personally have. But you're right MMC deserved to be mentioned as well. While I can appreciate the size. I personally prefer my cassette bots to be compatible with SW. Sure the shelf presence is not as obvious but I'm OK with that. Still of all the MMc ones, their Ravage was the one I was most tempted to get 👍
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf I’m not gonna judge you for not including mmc ravage, I just felt like adding him to the conversation. I bought one second hand just recently and l’m slightly disappointed. He looks fantastic but he isn’t a perfect designed. Couple this with the used condition and you might be able to understand my dissatisfaction. I think I paid too much. Now I’m looking for rumble and frenzy but they’re hard to find and cost a bomb!
@MathematicalMike thanks for not judging me 😅 sorry to hear about how your mmc Ravage turned out. I hear Frenzy and Rumble are better....but again for me, I find them a bit too large. But that's just me! Good luck in finding them 👍👍👍 hopefully MMC will reissue further on down the line!
Your my boy Blu!, SoundWave's cassette minions were always more iconic than Blaster's for some reason. Ravage of course was the coolest of the cassettacons. I had the OG vint fig as a kid, that little heavy metal Thundercat roamed the toy box for years. Yo Freaking Joe!
Yes! Someone finally gave Blu some love! 😅 yeah I'd argue though that on the surface level Blasters boys looked visually cooler. But SWs army came first and were fleshed out more personality wise so there's that...either way Ravage rules them all in my book :) 👍
Ravage may be the more popular cassette, but Ratbat became a Decepticon Leader in the comic books. Also, I still have that packed-in Ravage from the Henkei Hound, Another Great Feature -- Decepticon Forever!
Thank you! Yeah I was just kiddingbabout Ratbat 😅 honestly in my first draft I completely forgot to mention him since he wasn't an og cassette but yeah that dude is probably one of the most complex cassette bots to tackle. He's got a definite story to tell...soon :)
Imagine an alternate scenario where Soundwave actually saw Tarn rip Ravage in half and then was forced to watch by Tarn as the rest of the decepticon justice division killed each of his cassette partners one by one…Only to then meet his end by Tarn’s hands as well.
@ Actually speaking of Soundwave if you had every incarnation of Soundwave duke it out in a free for all who do you think would win? My bets are on Prime Soundwave. He’s honestly way more powerful than he seems. Bro didn’t even break a sweat facing arachnid (To be honest Megatron was an idiot not to send him to kill her instead of Breakdown.) Practically almost every deception is scared of him. I think the only exceptions are Megatron and Shockwave.
@TheSandwhichman108 oh yeah...Prime Soundwave is a totally different animal. I completely agree with your assessment. He would easily beat all the other versions hands down IMHO 👍
Imagine if Metroplex and Triptacon were upgraded into a maximal and predacon respectively? Metroplex becoming livyatan and Triptacon becoming megalodon.
Who is your favorite "cassetticon" and why? And to make things interesting, let's throw in Blasters tapes to make it a real party!
My golden boy Buzzsaw
@@Omgurr YES! Buzzsaw over Laserbeak!
Frenzy and the dino coming cassets
@kirbywithagun-on4pp soon hopefully :)

I always thought that ravaged was a panther now that I know he's a Jaguar I feel kind of silly
Well....to be fair, he doesn't really "look" like a Jaguar 😅 Panther is close enough 👍
Fun fact: ratbat is neither a rat nor a bat, but actually a dude who pretends to be a stupid animal so he can be lazy allday
Yeah I was just kidding bout Ratbat....he too does have an interesting story to tell....soon :)

Ravage? A dog? BLASPHEMY!!!!What's next? RUMBLE is Red????
All i have is the g1 ravage❤
The first and original 👍👍👍
I had a usb drive Ravage. It was awesome. The best part it was a woeking drive
I know! I wish I got my hands on that! What was the storage capacity?
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf it was 50 gigs. Not huge. I mostly used it for transferring video clips from the PlayStation to PC
@skylinegaming76 I guess back then 50gig was good enough to be useful 👍
But even if it stopped functioning....it's still a cool toy and concept 👍
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf yea. I used to have it standing in jaguar mode beside the tv. My cat knocked it down and one of the legs broke off 😭

Maybe you can incorporate on your next article.
@@MarkCerbo oh really? Cool will look into that in my next tape episode :) 👍
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf yeah. If “Seekers” became canon as they can trademark it. They can’t do it with “Minions” as someone already owns it.
@MarkCerbo yup but that's ok because for me...minions is a bit demeaning to the tapes for me. They're more than just minions 👍

That would make for some awesome underwater sea battles !
Very cool
Thank you! Is Ravage your favorite SW minion?
Good videos
Thank you! And thanks for watching!

Beast wars Ravage was cool
Yes he was! Although I think they could've done a better job with his latest toy.
excellent video... except you mixed up frenzy and rumble names. common mistake ;)
I'd say it's more of a common debate 😅 but thanks! glad you enjoyed it!
