No brainer.... Best car, practical, good maintenance, reliable, good space, quattro
This is mega for a £30k hot hatch. A friend has the new RS3 which is even more absurd but think I would take the S3 and have £14k in the bank!

Was that with launch controll?
On 0:39, how does it build that much boost in neutral, does not look like clutch is engaged? It reads almost full boost even when staying at 4k rpm. There should be no boost without load, maybe just some while quickly increasing rpm, but certainly not when holding steady rpm in neutral?

Many German cars now use small diameter Turbos with low weight, those can't have high pressure (much HP), but they spin up VERY fast.
For an example:
The 1.4 TSI already has 90% of its torque at only 1800rpm and full HP at only 2500rpm! :D

RS5 does 0-60 in 4.3 seconds.
the RS5 has a high reving V8 that hasn´t got a lot of torque thus being not that fast from standstill but once you are going the RS 5 leaves the S3 in the dust.

Still, the RS5 does 0-60 in 4.3 seconds and the S3 does it in 4.9. So the RS5 has already got the advantage there.

so, jetzt räumen wir mal mit dem Super Beschleunigungs Mythos auf. Meine Freundin fährt den aktuellen A3 1.8 TFSI quattro mit Serie 180 PS, per Chiptuning (JD Engineering Holland) auf 245 PS gesteigert. Kein serienmäßiger aktueller S3 fährt ihr davon, erst bei sehr hohem Tempo ab 230 km h und selbst dann nur ganz langsam. Komischerweise braucht dieser Wagen laut Tacho 21 Sekunden 0 bis 200 und auch 13 Sekunden 0 bis 160. Laut guten Kontakten bei Audi werden bei den S-Modellen weit vorauseilende Tachos eingebaut, um dem Fahrer ein zufriedeneres Gefühl zu geben. Wenn der S3 Tacho also 200 zeigt, sind es in Wirklichkeit max 185 km/h.... Bei den normalen Modellen dürfte das nicht so extrem der Fall sein.
Naja.... Sawomann hat aber auch die GPS werte mit aufgezeigt. Es sind aber wirklich welche S3 unterwegs wo der Tacho ziemlich weit vor läuft. Ich hab einen gemessen mit 211 Tacho und Original 200. Meiner zB zeigt 203 bei 200 an. Also fast genau. Mein BMW M3 F80 zeigt genau 200 bei 200 an;-). Und mir ist bis jetzt kein vergleichbar starkes Auto davon gefahren....
+Tintsch muss mich kurz korrigieren, der 1.8er meiner Freundin hat aktuell 265 PS laut Rolle, nicht 245... trotzdem bleibt es dabei, dass ihr der S3 höchstens obenrum minimal davon fährt... man wird sehen, wie es nach dem Umbau auf den K04 Turbolader und dann 280-290 PS (mehr würde auch drin sein, aber wir setzen da auf Langlebigkeit) wird...
...Langlebigkeit, so so. Deswegen kauft man sich einen 180 PSer und trimmt ihn auf 265 PS?! Bin gespannt wie lange der Motor das mitmacht. Fahre einen S3 Sportback BJ 2015, die Daten von SAWOMANN stimmen zu 100% auch laut GPS mit meinen gemessenen Daten überein (4,9 s ist übrigens auch Werksangabe). Wie kann man so einen Müll schreiben.....200 sollen echte 185 km/h sein. Träum weiter!
Sagen nur leute die kein geld haben für einen s3… gönn doch nur weil andere haben sind sie nicht schuldig für dein nicht haben

good friend of mine has a S3 8P (2010,), with a manual Gearbox.(265HP).Yesterday we only had 7.0 -7.5 times to 100kph, its much easier with a dsg to get a good time.
