For the money...I think the S3 is a better all around value. If money wasn't an object wouldn't want that awesome 5 cylinder in the RS3?
I agree, if you're keeping the car in stock performance parameters. The rs3 on the other hand.. is worlds apart in regard to a modification platform. Guys are running 700hp+ comfortably on factory engine internals, factory drive train, factory gear box etc. Mind blowing how well engineered these German vehicles are.
Totally agree the rs3 is like 20K more and for what 0.5 seconds faster wtf the point

I drove a mates Audi s3 and I couldn’t believe how damm quick it was from still to 100.Really fast

@@rsiguy1980 i have the s3 , yes the first couple of gears are not so much of a difference , but after 4th gear its very easy to see the difference between the cars

S3 are very fast cars, 300bhp, compared to most usual cars on the road which are like around 100bhp

i have one and can tell you that you need quite the vehicle to outrun the s3, that thing is a little bomb on wheels , the launch control sends it and curves at high speed with the magnetic ride are something else...

U can not beat or even walk close to rs3 with only stage 1 tune. Stage 2 will follow way behind the only way is a big turbo...
sure but tuning a 4 cylinder that already puts out 310 hp will die on u very fast compared to the rs3.
@@lenardgor I used my octavia rs stage 2 for 110000 kilometers without a single problem but if you are planning to own the same car forever nothing I can do 😅
Are u sure both are 2017 models as they usually have virtual cockpit and Rs3 has 394bhp the facelift model and S3 should have about 310bhp if it's 2017 model.

Depends where abouts the cars are. The European spec s3’s are 310bhp but the US spec s3’s are 300bhp so I imagine the RS3 would be the same. I have a European spec s3 because I’m from the UK so mine is 310 standard but I’ve now got a JB4 tuning box on so it is now putting out 370hp and 501nm 0-60 3.6/3.7
They are both old models, 2014 and 1015.
All new RS3s have 400ps/ 394 bhp.

To be honest, the difference is not that much. So while the RS3 gives you that extra ''prestige'', it's a lot of extra money to have those extra horses, but in the end... If money is somewhat limited for you, you would be better of with a S3 with some good extra options, compared to a standard RS3. If the new A35 and A45 amg's are going to be close to the S3 and RS3 newest versions and the pricing is going to be about the same. That's €10.000 that you can use on extra options for the A35, before you get at the base price of the A45. Even when you get close to €60.000, those €10.000 is a big difference xD
I'm very unpatiently waiting for them to get revealed. And of course I would prefer the A45 over the A35, same as the RS3 over the S3 etc. But I'm more and more leaning towards the A35, especially if the difference between them is going to be nothing more than just the difference in power. 400+hp sounds great, but the difference in accelerating from a standstill is pretty small and it's not like I would often get at speeds above 200, surely not in my own country... got 2 speeding tickets in only 2weeks time... Don't want to get caught doing 200+ on our highway with a max speed of 120 lol. Hundreds of euro's thrown away and loss of drivers license, no thanks :P
But of course the A35 would be around the S3, Golf R, Focus RS (bc it misses a good automatic transmission) and yeah sure you would like to beat them, like the RS3 and A45 could. But if it's really that important. Upgrading your car is still cheaper than those €10.000. If you can do a proper upgrade for like 3k even 4k, you would still have more than 5k left for the extra neat options xD

The 5-cylinder motor sounds similar to the 10 cylinder in the R8
The question is, would you pay extra $10-15k just for these differences? Seems they accelerate almost the same time if you put in real world test..

You can't compare the 5 cyl with the emotionless 2.0T
The Inline 4 is emotionless and sounds like a fartcan. The RS3, daaaaamn, thats a car that has sound, is loud and nothing can compare to that exhaust sound :D
The 10-15k extra gets you the better Engine, better transmission (7G s-tronic) and also the nice 5 cylinder sound. Also, the RS3 keeps it's value pretty good.

my 2010 S3 is standard 265 hp ? so where does 300 as stated come from stage 1 tuning ?
Interesting... I thought there would have been a much bigger difference between the two. The S is plenty fast where it actually counts.
That are both 2015 models, the 2017/18 models have a bigger difference. S3 310hp and the rs3 400hp
This s3 is not stock. 0-100 in 4.5sec 0-160 in 9.7sec 0-200 in 15.8sec stock for this 300hp model is 4.9sec 11sec and 17.5sec maybe its the 4°C temperature and maybe a bit downhill or its about 340hp

Throw a tune on the s3. It will do just as fine
But never sounds close as good as the allmighty Inline 5.

Obviously both quick but why the stupid speedos which are clearly designed to make them look like they accelerate quicker. 30mph(50k) takes up over a third of the speedo wtf.
Isn't most speedos like that, to make it easier to maintain the right speed at normal driving?

Because Inline 5. I driven the RS3 for a few days, and damn, that thing is amazing as hell, the engine sound alone, damn.
But, in street cornering performance the heavy cast iron Inline 5 is noticeable, the newer RS3 with the aluminium block or the S3 with the 4 banger doesn't understeer that much.
The new S4 B9 with the 3.0TFSI, with an upgraded exhaust has also a nice exhaust note and has a much more modern platform, also the quattro is the mid differential type, not haldex.

I thought that these cars can go 250km/h and not 287 and 267
280km/h limit is an option for RS3. And the speedometer never shows the real speed. S3 hits the speed limiter at about 255km/h (GPS)

Adam Buldok I think you have to pay extra for that or at least on the Q7 the price for that is about 42000kr = about 4500 dollar
