I’ve only been watching for about 2yrs I think, but I think it would be cool to hear the host “what’s in my bag” sorry I don’t know her name, but I’m sure she would pick some great stuff from interviewing so many great artist through the years
What I love (among many loves) about this series: Every so often, the guests resurface past music that were otherwise buried in our memories (in this case, blast from the past song 'Moody' by ESG).
Right?! Also, the best segments are either (a) full of absolute gems of albums or (b) full of surprising inspirations you'd never have expected. This one has both.
I really really love this band. I love that they added Alex. He adds a very strong look to the band. So happy to see Weyes Blood mentioned. Her voice is astonishing.
I loved everything out this one, their selections, the things they said about those selections and that they just seemed like people you'd want to hang with.
Im so glad i got to see weyes blood last year in May before hearts aglow released. She played a really small venue in san jose and played mostly all of Titanic rising and some from front row seat. It was 15$ and she sounds incredible live.
We were out of town when you were in KC in October but managed to find you at Tulips in Fort Worth. We really enjoyed your show. Also appreciate the introduction to Miss Grit.
Waiting for the woman in the band to write a book about 'private press' Trucker Driver records. Got the book 'Enjoy The Experience: Homemade Records 1958-1992' ordered back in the day in Vancouver Washington. Literally $192 used on Amazon right now. Very few people in real life are going to know about this/or appeal to. Those in the know, know. Probably found it though Rough Trade books listing.
I put in book requests at both Portland Oregon and Vancouver Washington libraries for the Fear Stalks the Land!: A Commonplace Book. Vancouver Washington is actually more legit w/ offering 5 book buying requests a month VS. Portland's current 2-a-month. Portland sometimes's won't buy stuff, Vancouver always buys everything. Grew up in Vancouver hating it, being the only punk rocker. These days living in Portland, it doesn't seem too bad. Never listened to this band, 90% or so good picks. I like post punk, ha ha ha.
"Standing against the wall wishing I was brave enough to dance" is a worthy categorical response to music.

Nation of Language: One of the best new American rock bands out there. If you haven’t listened to them, check em out.

I absolutely adore Nation of Language! Their new record is awesome.
It's good, especially the last two tracks but I have to say, it feels a little rushed compared to the first two albums which are more consistent IMO
Hi Rick, I'm from Leeds in the UK. I'm not quite sure how I'm supporting you though, please explain! @RickSpringfield651

That's a big reason Nation of Language is so good: they have great taste.

They'll take you back to the mid 80's..... Reincarnated....they're a great band!
Great band! Love their sound.
Neu, 2 & 75 are simply brilliant. I wouldn’t buy the boxed set cause I have them on wax but get the music how you need to get it. Must have.

Dude really brought out the big guns with the Neu box set
LOVE everything about this 😍
*If Nation Of Language is reading this, my moment at **1:00** was listening to Sightseer for the first time.*
Great picks! Not surprised by listening to your music.
Hell yeah, that early E-40 is tight.

Personally, Toronto is “like my fourth home”

Seeing them in October! Great picks!
Natalie Merring is an angel not from this world...she's amazing
weyes blood is an angel, prove me wrong
And my grandma was’ like and like and like and like, like, like, like….’😅
I'm a firm believer that bands are only as good as their taste in music.
Wanna chill with these cats like now
Holy Katz is Aidan Noell my dream woman but I am no Damon Albarn. Still wish her the absolute best though. 😌😊🙏🏼
All this time I thought the girl’s name was Alex
Is there anything left in the store?
cute girl-love neu !!!!
These Geniuses says LIKE forty-three times during this video. Wow.
Motorcycle???….thats a scooter!! A scooter is not a motorcycle.
Does it have a gasoline powered motor? Yes. Does it have wheels that spin in cycle? Yes. Motorcycle.
@@iansalazar5604remember that show “CHiPs”
A motor scooter is also, by definition, a motorcycle.
@@NationofLanguage Yeah those were motorcycles.
@@KevKavanagh no it’s a motor scooter.
I generally enjoy any guest you have on here. But these dweebs dont do it for me. Flower heads e40 record was the highlight!
Bro is scared of Black Metal album covers :(
Who?
Nation of Language!!!!
Who? You again. FOC.
Decent choices except blur
blur is amazing
First
4:17 ESG along with Liquid Liquid are totally underrated
As an old fart, it was great to have a young band turn me on to some new music and well as reaffirm so icons. 8:30
