All these years I've been watching Amoeba's What's in my bag series kinda hoping each time that someone would mention and/or sing "Amoeba" by the Adolescents for some reason, and here it is finally Addendum : it was brought to my attention by two gentlemen in the comments that actually Duff McKagan did mention "Amoeba" by the Adolescents in his episode. So props to him, to the Linda Lindas, to the Adolescents and to Amoeba for the series.
I'm a 50-year-old music snob and I am so freakin' impressed by these young kids. I'm definitely checking their music out! There IS hope for the future!
My 11yr old son Liam and I just found you girls looking at who the openers where for greenday. We have been sitting here watching sll your youtube videos, He is an instant super fan now. We now cant wait to see you girls rock out... Bravo.. See you in Detroit 9/4 Stage left section 112 next to the tunnel
eu já curtia a vibe da Bela Salazar, agora que ela adora a música "Mais que nada", amei demaissss!!! fique sabendo que tem uma galera, inclusive eu, adoro o som de vocês!! I LOVE THE LINDA LINDAS!!! U^ェ^U
That Karen O story is incredible and inspiring. Great picks and love the youthful enthusiasm, too. . . The again, this old guy feels the same whenever walking into Amoeba.
My wife and I saw them a month ago, they were amazing, I’m over 60 a concert photographer and seen more bands live than anyone I know. (I also work in a recording studio). They are the future, I’m thrilled to see young people (especially girls) take to guitar based rock. Also as humans, they are incredibly cool, Eloise especially, we were talking about seeing the Ramones, Damned, The Clash etc. and she mentioned she was named after the Damned (cover) song. They are great live and I loved seeing young kids in the audience. Looking forward to their new LP this October. (2024)
Can't even express with words how this episode makes me happy. I've been seeing this series by Amoeba since my early adolescence, and see these girls kind of liking the same stuff that I get into when I was 14 (specially Sleater-Kinney!) is very beautiful. Today I'm very into SASAMI and Japanese Breakfast, and seeing this girls youth being presence by the good and classic punk from the 70s to the riot grrrl era and beyond makes me everyday of my life more hopeful in the future of music that I always dream of since I was their age and can't form a band for lack of opportunities. Love to see it. Love you girls! Hugs from Brazil!
Wow, with the music they chose and what they so far have written themselves I know the future of rock is in safe hands. They come across as being so mature when it comes to music, they are not a kids novelty act but the real thing. A big virtual granddad type hug to all four from this old geezer in England.
Eloise and Bela have such amazing taste. If you haven’t heard that Beach Blvd Compilation. Seek it out. It’s Amazing. I love the Crowd and the Simpletones. Red Kross and Sergio Mendez. Wish the Linda Linda’s a ton of success.
That Beach boulevard is a classic. Great job ladies pulling that one. The Simpletones are one of those obscure hidden gems, that burned brightly and quickly. Great pick, if I do say so myself. 😉 #amoeba #lindalindas #california #oohooh #beachblvd 🫰😎
Nice girls with nice smiles and an infectious sound! That's what the world needs right now. Great picks- Dengue Fever are great, definitely worth your time if you haven't listened to them. Sergio mendes too, double woop!
I’m an old rocker always looking for things outside the main stream. Love The Linda Linda’s and I’m very impressed with their choices and their knowledge on the current music scene. When I first heard them I felt that the future of Rock was in very capable hands. Keep on young ladies.
Its amazing the parallels these girls come up with. I knew one of the members of Redd Kross. Amoeba (the song) has been on my list for a long time. Recently I got into Manic Hispanic. RIP Steve Soto. I went looking online to find more information about a recent incarnation of another favorite band, the Alley Cats--the article I find is written by Elouise's dad. Sergio Mendes, geez they have a great musical education already.
Adorable and so in tune w so much great music and culture at such a young age! Kudos to their parents and mentors. Will definitely buy their record. Another great WIMB? Thanks Amoeba!
Very interesting to see what their music is made from. So, Sasami was Mila's pick. She looks interesting, too. Lucia's book "Crying in H Mart"--I'd love to read that, too. Surprized at Bela's wide interests in World Music. Love to see how they'd affect their mix. Eloise's "Beach Blvd" compilation looks good, too, especially the Simple Tone's 'California.' Such a perfect match, the Linda Lindas and Amoeba Records!
I’m 50 years old and I love all types of music. And these girls have some eclectic tastes. That’s why I love this channel. Now you gotta get bad bunny on here. Make it happen. Props to this episode.
Great all female bands in their picks, you can tell how Karen O was teh start but soo many references were found for this girls to rock their way into the mainstream.
they just have it,i mean they rock, they look cool, smart, and they are girls doing all this ,at this point in their careers they are still fresh and ready tojust have fun, which we need right now in this world,i want to see them on SNL and get the exposure they deserve, tired of pop ,and these girls make music fun again=cheers and best to them always-oh i also love cats🐈👍🌻💙NO WAR-🇺🇦🇺🇸
Sweet girls and while not entirely my cup of tea musically I understand totally why people would dig them. Pop Punk in the vein of bands like The Muffs and Shonen Knife.
They all seem just like normal kids with great taste in music. Love the girl in the black T-shirt. So happy! It's infectious! So genuine.

Innit? It was a pet peeve of mine that was driving me nuts. Finally!
It gets a mention in the video with duff from guns n roses
Watch Duff McKeagan
Homegirl just so happy to talk about music. Def gonna give these kids a listen!
They are adorable and they also rock.
I'm a 50-year-old music snob and I am so freakin' impressed by these young kids. I'm definitely checking their music out! There IS hope for the future!
the spotify generation. they have been exposed to a far wider range of music at a far younger age than any previous generations.
It's garbage
They're all more or less rich kids with industry connected parents lol
@@funkymonk2893 What has that got to do with anything? That doesn't invalidate anything.
@@dx315 Don't care about their wealth or their parents. I really like their album.
Long live these rockers! My daughter and I love your music.
These girls innocence and honesty brings tears to my eyes. They are a really good band with a huge future. Thanks Linda Lindas!!
So awesome that younger kids now have such easy access to all kinds of music, and can really learn and delve into it. Their enthusiasm is infectious.
*and this is first aired on Steve Soto's birthday, August 23. Happy Heavenly Birthday King.*

My daughter and her band mates are around the same age as of the Linda’s and their music taste are both very similar.
That Karen O story is incredible and inspiring. Great picks and love the youthful enthusiasm, too. . . The again, this old guy feels the same whenever walking into Amoeba.

These Kids are so Mature and Grounded for Their ages. No way to not like Them, and They Rock! Rooting for Them.
Shocked that the one girl who picked the Beach BLVD record would even know of that record or those bands. Wow. Impressive.

The next gen is buying Redd Kross. Things are gonna be ok. The enthusiasm of these girls is contagious.
Fun, smart, clever, musically aware. Love it. Thanks again Amoeba.
Met these ladies in Tx tonight very down to earth
Love them they’re everyday kids with solid characters and their own styles ❤
God bless them. Rock/Alt. Rock is not dead thanks to these kids . So refreshing.
These girls also have great taste in music.
So glad I watched this one! A few I've never heard of and some I TOTALY agree with. I've got a post-it note full now, just because of this video.
Wow, with the music they chose and what they so far have written themselves I know the future of rock is in safe hands.

Shoutout to Steve Soto and his solo work?!? That made me choke up. These kids are SO RAD, and their music rips too! 🤘
FYI Redd Cross lead singer is Charolette Caffey of the Go-Go’s husband. I know this band likes the Go-Go’s and they have worked with Gina Schock.
That book is really good. And of course they have great taste in music.
That Sergio Mendes album was one of my firsts too! So many excellent picks here

Surprisingly sharp picks, where's everything's "cool" and they're not yet jaded. Refreshing.
That was the cutest Amoeba I've seen. So cool to see a new generation of rockers carrying the torch.
Yes yes yes!!!!! One of the best albums of the year too!!!😻
Awwww Bela!!! Love your choices!!! You all rock!!! ❤❤❤❤

Love the Linda Lindas but mostly want to thank them for bringing "Crying In H Mart" by Michelle Zauner to my attention. Such a great book.
What's in my bag in 2022? The Linda Lindas "Growing Up". One of the best new albums of 2022. You absolutely can not be sad while listening to it!
Great taste, adorable, gives hope for the future knowing there are still such good souls in the world.
They have such excellent music taste.
They´re one of my favorite bands

Sergio Mendes from my country! I get more in love everyday for this band.
And Linda means 'pretty Beautiful' in portuguese
Does my heart good to see rock and roll is in good hands..and anyone who says rock is dead is a blow hard
