What is a Hot Shoe on a Camera?

Today I am going to show you what is a hot shoe on a camera.
WARNING: ⚠️ Sony manuals warn against attaching (older) high trigger voltage flashes - 250V or more or that have reverse polarity (like Vivitar 283 that has 260 to 280 v trigger) w/manual center pin to current Sony hot shoes - risks burning out cam electronics ⚠️ Thanks for the info Paul M!!
They have developed more and more from a single point connection for your flash to sophisticated mounting points for different accessories, as well as giving you a lot more control over your flash.
