Please react to Jung dong ha. I miss you, If you're like me or Do not look so sad. All these were performances on Immortal songs.
Reacts to GOT7 💚, please 🙏
The song "1:31 am", is of the two main vocalists, it's very good, watch the video, I recommend it
React to Mariah Carey forever and hero. You will be blown AWAY!
Do bruno mars please
React to Hua Chen Yu's Qi Tian :)
People overlook Gaga's musicianship due to her daring schemes and themes but it's undeniable that Lady Gaga is such a well-gridded and extremely good Mezzo compared to most of the pop singers right now.
She's a contralto
Molly
No. She's a Full-Lyric Mezzo. Contaltos sound like a man. Like a Baritone (ex. Cher)
Contraltos don't sound like a man, they have a lower register but it's nowhere near the voice of a man, let alone a baritone !
Oriane W
I didnt mean that like they sound like a man in thd entirety of their range. When I said they sound like a man, I meant the "ring" in their lower registers sound manly. Their tessitura is somehow closely related to a Baritone.
@@orianes6091 Contraltos have androgynous tone - Gaga doesn't have that quality.
you can love her , you can hate her , but you can't deny her vocal capabilities.
hieronymous blackmane god YES
I can deny it. She is not a vocalist.
Did you actually listen to her? She has hardly any style. She sounds like and 8 year old first trying to sing with a hairbrush. There is almost no dynamic, the same tones over and over and over then every once in a while she tries to push her voice to hard and does a flip sometimes. I don’t know what’s worse, her horrid attempt at music and lack of vocabulary or the tards that are obsessed with her.
@@logangregory3441 opinions are opinions. In her defense though : her falsetto , vibrato, etc... are all good. If you push your voice like that you are bound to "flip" at some point, it happens to every vocalist. Style, vocabulary and other artistic elements are irrelevant with regards to being a good vocalist. And that's all i said she was: a good vocalist.
How could anyone possibly hate her. My god, she's amazing.
Hands down my favorite thing about Gaga is how much passion she sings with. She has the skill to match, and it makes her such a compelling, phenomenal performer. This video shines a fascinating light on how she does what she does so well.
Hey, sorry to bother,I just wanted to share these LG playlists I just made. Hope u and others enjoy --K

Who here wants vocal lessons but can’t sing????🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️
Arian Killebrew My thoughts through all these videos 😅
Mood
Straight facts. The one thing I envy if anyone who can sing
Guyver2391 If you watch more of Sams videos, you might become convinced that ANYONE can sing- they only need some help with tthe technical aspects. I too, grew up with the idea that it was a "gift", not given to everyone. I am changing my mind listening to this teacher....
Homie. I promise, I can't sing. I make William Hung sound like a professional Opera singer.
what most people don't realize, which is kind of sad, Lady Gaga is a classically trained singer
I just don't like her voice
MusicalNerd yes yes yes !!! Yeeees
Didn’t she go to Juliard?
likelyladsss well her voice is very selective but I’m into it
Didn't she kind of allure to it in one of her music videos? With the ballet to 80'style switch
I am a simple person. I see someone who clearly knows what they're talking about sharing their expertise with others in a way that's interesting and easy to understand, I subscribe.
Agreed.
well said!
Who else can you recommend for us to subscribe?
We need more of that attitude!
lol Same here!
Your criticism is great. Clear without being condescending or derogatory. As a singer I very much appreciate that.
Where did the last 2 hours go. I don’t sing, I don’t know anything about vocals, but somehow I just wanna keep watching and listening to you Sam.
TrishKruse
Haha same!😂
Same!
You: she's got some pipes
I honestly love it when you're watching a vocalist and you're so into their voice that you make a comment that isn't so much a technical note but an opinion about how you like them 😂
Also! I would love to see you react to
Yuju- Stand up for love, and comment on her range, Control, and Mix voice
(Also taking into account that this recording was made when she was around 16)
Gaga is a Trained Vocalist
she is a well rounded artist
she can sing any genre of music and honestly she can do it all
She was doing an interview with Howard Stern and started singing Led Zeppelin. She nailed it.
Most genres maybe, but I reckon if you threw prog. metal at her she'd have no chance :P
@@Draknareth she sang metal with Metallica at the grammys & she has a song called heavy metal lover
Metallica is a long way from metal with their newer albums, it's hard rock at best. Plus I said Prog metal, progressive metal. Think bands like Jinjer, using vocals that can go from completely clean to completely distorted. I reckon with some work she could do it, but right off the bat? No chance.
And heavy metal lover is a pop track ( a good one no doubt).
Please do a Dolly Parton compilation!!!!!! She’s never had a voice lesson so I think it would be interesting to hear your feedback on her performances. She’s one of my absolute favorites!!!
She is awesome
She's so unique!! I love that her voice is strong and soft at the same time, I'd love to hear a professional explanation.

Love me some Dolly ❤️
Can one upvote this? Haha
lady gaga's performing the national anthem gives me goosebumps every time and I'm not even American, I teared up the first time I heard it
Marushka K you are so sweet!! It made me cry reading your comment. Cheers to your lovely soul❤️🍷
Then you definitely need to check Whitney Houston 's rendition.
i am a Filipino. and a Little Monster. i love Gaga and Whitney's rendition of the national anthem (i use to sing it as a lullaby to my nephew) haha

Listen to Gladys Knight's recent rendition of The Star Spangled Banner...it is amazing!
Holy bananas! This channel is SOOO ADDICTIVE!
Ady Cakes I agree! Been watching for over an hour!
It is I've watched like 4 of his videos back to back lol
Agreed! I can't stop watching!
It IS! He’s so gentle and genuine. You can’t not enjoy how open and professional he is. So refreshing.
Language, Ady, language! lol... Agreed, this channel is definitely addicting...
You can tell that Sam's a good teacher. He seems like he really knows what he's talking about. He doesn't bash anyone, he'll talk about how someone can improve technically. I hope he gets a lot of clients to sign up with him :)
If I lived near him, I actually totally would
Amazingggg! Can you explain Freddie Mercury to us? If that's even possible haha. Always thought of Lady Gaga as the only one who comes slightly close in direction Freddie...I guess just the way she sounds and feels on stage
mollys chambers I like the comparison. I had never thought about it that way, but you make a good point. I would like to see an analysis of Freddie Mercury, as well. He just explains the choices so respectfully.
I have also suggested Freddie. In addition I thought Pink and Amy Winehouse would also be excellent choices from the modern era. From my era the great Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Gladys Knight, Steve Wonder and Barbara Streisand would be interesting subjects. Aretha did things (IMO) that nobody else could do. I don't think she even knew how she did them. My $.02.
Radio gaga
Agreed! Gaga is a huge star but man she’s just the total fricken package we haven’t seen anyone like that since Freddie
Lol that’s where her name comes from good catch ❤️
While everyone is obsessed with Ariana Grande and Beyoncé, Gaga's talent is criminally underrated!! She's one of the few honestly well-rounded pop artists we've seen in a long time, and people are missing it. Thank you for giving her credit where credit is due!
Ariana can't be mentioned in the same line as Beyoncé and Gaga.
Couldn't agree more! And that she actually write her own songs and produces them. I've seen Gaga live 4 times and tbh I wasn't a fan from the beginning, but my best friend dragged me to The Mosters Ball tour and after that I was completely hooked. The thing with Gaga is that she truly gives 110% at her concerts and don't lipsync like soooooo many of today's artist does. I remember seeing her at The Born This Way Ball tour and my country was one of the last cities for the whole tour. Edge of Glory was the last song and you could hear her voice was quite worned out from all the performances and it cracked sometimes, but it didn't matter because she gave her all. Then just suddenly during her last song, she just threw up massively. This woman just continued like nothing had happened! O.o I mean nobody would have blamed her if she had run off the stage during that time, but no, she just gave her all and finished like the star she is. That's 100% professionalism! Not like other spoiled little brat shits that stops their whole concert for a fan sprays them with a little bit of water, or getting a bruise from hitting the mic with their hand etc. Gaga has really earned her respect and worked so hard to get it. She manged to convince me and I was a pure anti from the beginning. Though I always respected her for her opinions and that she seem to be a wonderful person, that truly cares for her fans. Just that is massive respect from me.
Why the hell do u think Gaga is underrated? Shes’s the queen of the decade lol
Beyonce > Gaga > Ariana and I say this as a stan of all three of them
Beyoncé sings HURRICANES around Fadga under your nearest table lmao
I hope you keep on keeping on until it starts to pay off for you. The clear and gentle tone of your critical viewpoint is sorely needed in this age of hyper witchiness disguised as criticism. As the daughter of a college level vocal teacher from an operatic background as well as being a professional flute teacher myself, I can honestly say that your pedagogy seems to be most accurate, and precise while at the same time constructive and uplifting. I love that you refrain from nitpicking yet you still get to the bone of your point and have not stooped to criticizing the person while still giving a critical look at their performance technique. Were I a vocal musician, I would choose your personal instruction over any other I've sampled. I also like that you aren't afraid to let us in on your personal reaction while watching an accomplished musician. I wish you well and will keep checking in on you because on your channel I get exposed to new music for my soul with the added dollop of instruction for my mind. Bravo
This is one of the nicest things I've ever read. Thank you so much, I really needed your kindness today.
Kln Kat I’m so impressed honestly considering taking a lesson bc it’s super good rates for the amount of knowledge
Kln Kat well said!
I totally agree!
This was a beautiful comment and I agree .
You get a load of artists with really specific styles, and their voice only suits certain songs that they do. I think it’s cool bc then you get a sound that’s very unique, BUT it’s so impressive to have an artist like lady Gaga that knows how to cater her sound to fit certain songs and situations. Such a chameleon
As a vocal coach/opera singer/competitive singer, I really appreciate your take on all these videos and songs and styles of singing... It's very interesting and I'm blown away by your observations. You also explain everything very well. Perfect definitions of everything and so humble about you still learning and developing even with all your experience. Bravo!!
You're a delightful person, subscribed! Also, I'm learning a ton even though I can't hit a note to save my life.
Same, I sound like a dying cat
Gaga is just a pro. Man this girl has pipes she could sing nearly everything. Nice to see a vocal coach just admiring her strength while looking at her voice technics and styles. Glad that I found your channel.
Yessssss Lady Gaga is a great vocalist, I'm so excited to see this video pop up on my feed. She has such great flexible musicality, the way she adapts to different musical styles is amazing.
She's a beast. She's a marvelous beast that runs you over with her power in the most magnificent way. Seeing her life is out of this world. If you ever get the chance, do not miss it.
I love how when you hear someone slay you are smiling, like you're actually happy to hear people sing great. I really enjoy your videos.
Are your videos monetized? I don't get any ads. They're so informative. You deserve some money from these. I've watched a dozen videos since I discovered you today.
I have an application in, but they say it could take up a month. So far I've been waiting about 2 weeks. I just set up a Patreon if anyone is interested: www.patreon.com/samjohnson
Gaga's jazz work is so good, I agree! I never get tired of watching all of her jazz performances, her voice is just so captivating. I'd love to see more about Gaga from you
I've never been a fan of her music, but I've always appreciated her voice and talent.
I remember when Lady Gaga first came out, she was getting criticism for being fake and sellout because of her bizarre showmanship and her heavy electronic music. I will say that the beginning of her career WAS a bit too flashy to tell if genuine talent was there. But with her recent albums, she's created music that really gives her vocals the attention they deserve. Even though slower, country music isn't the music I jam to, just watching these clips is amazing, to see all the different things her voice can do.
Brian Merritt I totally agree with this! I fell in love with her voice and talent after all the glitter and electronics came off. She is an amazing and genuine artist!
You can tell that the talent was there, even during the Fame Era. You just get sidetracked by the electronic beats and her character at the time.
Brian Merritt I remember when Lady Gaga became popular in the U.K. and everyone said she was secretly a man. I was disappointed to find out she’s Cis.
In interviews and documentaries, she has said that in order to be recognized and remembered, she felt she needed to be outlandish. And now that she’s earned respect in the industry and is a household name, she can do what she really wants to do and make the music she really wants to make.
Oh man I was definitely one of those people. I didn’t know she actually worked those tracks/songs/lyrics/visuals, and my friend introduced me to her performance at this radio show playing paparazzi with just her and her piano skills and....I was fucking floored. She’s amazing and she’s only gotten better
Lady gaga is a queen
Holy shit Sam, I've been binge watching your videos for a couple hours... pretty sure you got got 2K new subscribers in that time lapse. Keep up the good work.
Seems like she knows so many different singing technics, like she can sing in jazz style, pop style and "vintage" style too.
You are growing so fast. Even though English isn't my first language I can understand you a 80% and still learning some!
Damn, it feels like it was yeasterday that I was congratulating on 10K and now it's like 65K. People are thirsty for some educational stuff. wow ;) But it's for the best. :D

UA-cam videos are a great way to learn a new language! Keep it up and good luck with your learning process :-)

dude i've literally been watching (and re-watching!) your videos all day. keep up the great work and it's so exciting watching your channel grow!
Gaga is such an incredible vocal talent. Thank you for such a great analysis.
As an aspiring vocalist I can't stress how helpful your analyses and critiques are. Thank you for sharing your expertise with the world.
I love lady Gaga, She is the most talented singer of this generation, i love her voice, song's and her personality.
Jessie J is a hell of a singer as well. I feel like alot of ppl tend to forget all about, both her and gaga is seriously underrated
Sarah Ikumu @@Kelly101Girl
Vikramaditya K Yasss it's true, lana is my second favourite singer!
You should react to Gaga’s Sound of Music performance or her La Vie En Rose performance from Royal Albert Hall. Those are two of her best vocal performances ever!
I couldn't believe those weren't in the compilation!
I second this!
@@Maiichu14 I would prefer: 'please review' or 'I'd like to hear your opinion' or any other way other than demonstrative. The same for you to receive requests (instead of commands or demands) in your life. 😀
What I love about your videos is your facial expressions when you truly enjoy a vocalist's sound-- your love for music is enthralling and deeply relatable. Thanks for these incredible videos!
Please do Florence Welch from royal albert hall performance for supporting cancer. You an also add any other live performance as well.
crazyx3s yess do Florence!!
Yeeeeees
I really love ALL THIS AND HEAVAN TOO.
Also cosmic love is amazing.

Her ship to wreck performance is also amazing. I like her singing live than in some of her official music videos b/c the background music is less noisy and we get to hear her voice more.

I would LOVE to learn more about distortion! I hope you're able to get a video out on that someday! Fascinates me, especially as an old school screamo kid haha.
I am always in awe of Lady Gaga's talent. I was late to the party and only added her songs into my catalog these past few years. She is fantastic.
Her vocals are legendary in my opinion. She can sing any genre she wants. Pop, hip hop, rock, jazz, classical you name it!
I saw you in my recommended and almost didnt click your video. I find that alot of vocal coaches on youtube can come across as, well, preachy 🙈 But you explain yourself beautifully. Binge watching your vids as we speak! Keep up the good work. New sub here
Rachel T agreeed!
Growls are an epiglotic distortion , my fellow voice teacher ! 🤘🏻 Love your comments , everything you say is always 120% correct , well thought out and we'll explained 😁
I’m obsessed with this channel. I couldn’t sing on key to save my life, but I love hearing these reactions and the knowledge behind what’s going on. Great feedback with a positive attitude. Phenomenal stuff!
I love Lady Gaga!! I love how she changes the tones (classic, jazz, etc) and how strong or big her voice is.
I got a commercial watching it today. Usually I hate the commercials but I found myself feeling happy for you with this one!! Keep up the great vids 👍😉😀
I love Lady Gaga so much. She’s such an amazing vocalist and an artist with so much creativity and talent.
Love this video! I love Lady Gaga and think she's such a talented singer, and I also studied voice through college and sing for fun now. These are the kinds of conversations I used to have with my voice teacher and singer friends. Wonderful stuff!
Her performances almost always bring me to tears, there's such a passion conveyed through her voice, a type that's not easily found now a days!
I just dont wanna die before seeing LADY GAGA LIVE i mean her voice and music is so good makes me wanna cry of happiness. ❤
Damn, I never realized how amazing lady gagas vocals were. getting some serious goosebumps listening to her raw like this
This is what a good UA-camr is. You’ve connected with the viewers on a topic you’re passionate about and it shows. I am no singer but I love watching you talk with such knowledge in a such a kind manner. These videos are so interesting. Thank you.
I never thought I'd end up watching something like this, never mind binge watching. But, listening to a true professional explain their craft is a really cool peek behind the curtain and helps make listening to music even more enjoyable. Thanks so much for posting!!!
So, I found this video by accident, and I’m totally hooked. I love the honesty and kindness. But I think my favorite part is Sam’s facial reactions when he hears something he likes. Thanks for sharing your knowledge in such a great manner. I wish I could sing so I could have you for a vocal coach! Keep up the great job
I think Google/UA-cam needs to hurry up and monetise your videos!
Question, in your personal opinion, who do you think has the craziest techniques/style? And what singer has the has the greatest vocal range you’ve heard? (You can do both male & female if you want)😂
Keep up the videos man!
The Fake News Frog🐸 b
Your critiques are awesome! Just found you.
I agree - her Jazz vocals great. Her voice is so diverse and dynamic but those jazzy tunes are just the strongest in my opinion!
Love your vids!
Incredible vocal performances. She NEVER fails to elicit an emotional response from me....really touches my heart. Great analysis as always!
Found you today. Watched for hours. Subscribed. Allowed ads to play all the way with joy because I hope it supports you. Ive been terrified of singing all my life, but you made me realize I could have been taught and supported to allow it to be a fun part of my life. You’re inspiring me. What a gifted teacher. Best of luck!
When Gaga sees this, I imagine she’s going to freak (in a good way). She comes across as a very introspective artist who’s constantly looking for ways to improve and perfect her craft. I’m sure that seeing your opinions and advice will warm her heart!!
Anyways like everyone else is saying, there’s so few words that are adequate in describing how amazing Lady Gaga truly is in all aspects. (Anyone who hasn’t watched her documentary, please do!! Please!!)
I freaking love GaGa! She's one of the few artist who dance and sing without lip singing, and she never gets tired!
I like how you totally admit that however you're performing the song is the right way to do it at the time. Own it, it's a performance, you're writing the story tor the audience. Part of what makes an artist unique is what they bring to it, even when it's not "perfect" or "classically trained". LOVE that perspective.
Well Madonna can be jealous all she wants.. Stephanie was truly born to be a singer. Damn.. ❤️
Stefani is a fucking legend Madonna is a flopppppp❤️🥴
@@TeamColleen well that's not true. Madonna is the highest selling female artist in history, some of her first albums have sold more than 25million copies each. As much as I LOVE Gaga , no one can deny that Madonna is a legend.
@@darshana5395 this is what bugs me sometimes. Madonna is a legend and she opened up a path for ALL female pop artists for today. She is in NO WAY a competent singer, but no less of a legend.
Matson vintage when u give gaga 30 years in the industry, she would do that too
I love Lady Gaga good vocalist and great entertainer.
Natasha She's good to great.
Slight imperfections are perfections in live performances! I'd love to see more Gaga reactions, this was great.
I'm not a singer or a musician, I just love listening and generally thrive off understanding things. You are amazing. Also I love that your intro is so short and precise ♥
I got choked up so many times in this video, listening to her sing just moves me like nothing else, she's my heart 💜🦄
You are very good at explaining which in singing I find it always very difficult because we can't *see* our instrument and we base the learning pretty much in trying to try to understand how something *feels* .
I really like your videos!
I think the distortion happens when the false vocal chords resonate sympathetically with the actual vocal chords. It creates an undertone of an octave or more below the fundamental pitch. Done at speech level pitch it sounds like Chewbacca but done on a really high belted note it sounds epic.
I like Lady Gaga's Sound of Music medley that she performed at the Oscars, even though that wasn't included in this video.
Rachel Smith It’s the best rendition ever. Gives me goosebumps every time
You have just inspired me to want to take vocal lessons again. I have never experienced a teacher so clearly and seamlessly explain vocal techniques. I went to your website and found out that we live right down the street from each other, small world! I can’t wait to book a lesson with you.
I've just found you recently , and I love your content. I'm learning alot from your analysis of vocals. Keep them coming they are very interesting and informative. I love that you are so constructive instead of hateful, it really shows how intelligent you are in your craft.
You need to watch Adam Lambert singing Who wants to live forever, incredible vocals
I'm not a singer, but as a wannabe linguist who loves a good voice over any other component of a song, I am utterly fascinated by your videos! So glad I came across them.
Awesome video. I just wish the compilation had included her Sound of Music medley. It was absolutely gorgeous. Your instruction is very clear and to the point, encompassing good details without being overly nitpicky. I dig it.
I would absolutely love to hear a critique on a live video of Lzzy Hale of Halestorm. Her distortion is killer!
I'm so glad you ended up in my suggestions. I have a friend getting ready for a huge audition and immediately sent your channel to her.. My son also is starting to really sing, I think he'll really enjoy these. Your videos are great man. Absolutely unbiased and accurate. Brava. Looking forward to more!
Ok, I think I am addicted to your channel now this has got to be the 6th video I've watched this evening! I love this break down of Lady Gaga, in the last few years, I have really began to respect her for the talent that she is. She makes an excellent use of her vocals that most modern day singers don't; I realize that she is classically trained which gives her a phenomenal place to start but she works so hard and is so committed to her passion that she's discovered so many more 'voices' that I don't think she realized she had when she first began. Thank you for the insight.
I love lady gaga and I've always thought she sounds incredible live, a rarity these days she sounds incredible live and recorded. This is an excellent video Sam. I'm glad you did this one 👍👍🙂
omg every time you upload something I get SO excited, your videos are the best!
Lady Gaga is an amazing singer! You should see her sing with Tony Bennett!😎
I watched one of your videos and now I’m hooked and have been basically watching them back to back! You seem so chilled and I’m here nodding like I understand what you’re saying
Please react to Gaga's Sound of Music tribute
Subscribed to you because i fucking love lady gaga
❤️❤️❤️💕💕💕💕
You hear Gaga live, in person and not on video, and you KNOW she CAN sing.
So I just came across your channel in my recommendations a few days. I was hesitant to click because I have seen a "vocal coach" on youtube recently that was kind of underwhelming in his actual knowledge/teaching. But I'm so glad I clicked, because I feel like you actually know what youre talking about and can convey helpful and informative information about technique... Subbed!
👌💯💕
Every time I see Lady Gaga perform I cannot help but cry, she really is special.
I really admire her vocal skills. When she did that sound of music set for July Andrews it was epic.
I would really, really like to hear your thoughts and analysis of some of the legendary metal singers like Rob Halford, Dio, Geoff Tate, Bruce Dickinson etc. Love the channel though, even when you talk about music I never listen to usually. :)
Freakhead X Rob is a GOD
I was smiling throughout the whole video. I love Gaga so much :')
I just discovered you and I've been marathoning all your videos. They're the most educational ones I've seen so far and I love how constructive your comments are. Keep it up!
I love the way you break it all down! Forward, backward, high overtones, etc. Love this channel!
"you just need to own it and roll with it" ...haha, you mean, not freeze then start to panic as you feel the pressure of everyone watching in silence as you try to make your brain work and get back in the song like I always did in piano recitals? xD
Oh wow I could listen to you aaaalll day long! You are so easy to listen to, I love the style of your videos and you are such a nice, polite person!!!
You came on my feed as a recommended video for the video about the notes that singers can’t and don’t sing anymore. I am now on my third or fourth video with you and I absolutely love have UNBIASED you are!!! You are so fair and so easy to understand. You just explain the techniques in singing that the artists are using. You explain the nuances in way that people who do not study the techniques can understand. Amazing!
Just discovered your account and it's so addictive! I really love how constructive you are and how much knowledge you have about vocal techniques! Keep going! :)
Fantastic stuff, man. Love your videos. I’m a vocalist myself so this is really fascinating to me. Well earned sub!
What's cool about you, and these videos, are the fact that what you are saying makes sense. It's to the point and easy to understand. Thanks a mill for sharing these videos, I really enjoy them! :) :) :)
She's actually an incredible singer. I saw a live warm-up video years ago and my jaw just dropped. You'd never know she could sing like that from her recorded music.
I just started watching your vids yesterday. You are RAPIDLY making me want to take vocal lessons for no other reason than I enjoy singing for me, myself & I and would LOVE to improve my vocal abilities. You make it seem so fun to use your voice as an instrument. I have SO much respect for your knowledge & ability to explain vocals in a way that is easy to understand. Thanks for what you do! Please keep going!
