I bought a vizy cuz I didn’t know what it was, and then when I got it I was like oh I could of made this 50x better. So for the rest of the EP that’s about to drop I made a bunch of my own vizys, all for free too, don’t tell anyone but you don’t have to pay for after effects or plugins! I use DK but i hate how much they charge you for random shit... legacy fees, cost for VIZY, like $80 membership if you want to be able to set your release dates. It really feels like they’re trying to ink us if our $$$, not help us.

This is great, Adam! Been using Distro since 2016, going from RnB to EDM now so this playlist feature and Vizy will come in handy.
Distrokid really got updated in 2020 with a faster payout than earlier.
If it gets an app then game over for other distributors I feel!

Distrokid actually shows no loyalty to some of its more veteran users. Been with distro for a couple years now and just recently they had almost 1 million songs taken down to entice us to use their new playlist service. Very shady and very lame.
Misinformed. Over 750k songs were removed by Spotify for fake streams and bot services. Takes two seconds to get your facts straight.

Everything isn’t black and white and as someone who mentors artist I expect you to know that. There’s no way artist like Justin Bieber publically endorsed stream farms and yet his discography is safe, meanwhile I know people who have little to no promo at all and had songs removed. Your right it does take two seconds to get your facts right. Now take an additional two hours to see what’s actually going on and you’ll see that your facts don’t tell the whole story

It has it's Pro's and Con's. Depending on who you ask it's loved or hated. I personally think DistroKid is better but you should compare them and see what works best for you.

I think the Playlist Spotlight is a good thing however most of these followers are probably fake. If you dive deeper on the data and stats of the artists on these playlist, some of them have 30 monthly listeners after being added for a month on the playlist and the Distrokid Spotlight don't even appear in their playlist section where they are listened + Most of their playlists have 33.000 followers other than the Spotlight one, wich clearly seems to be buyed followers... I don't want to sound mean or anything saying this. Thanks for your video, always looking forward to your content!

HEY Adam Ivy my name is Vino and I am currently managing my friend and his music and I've got one of his songs on distrokid and so its on evey major streaming platform but im having 2 issues. 1. I'm having trouble really promoting his music so that theres alot of eyes on and I also post his music on this channel but the growth is slow so I was wondering if you would have any ideas about that and 2. I'm having trouble getting connected to the spotify for artists through distrokid and everytime i try to do it through spotify it just sends me back to distro kid and I've contacted customer support and nothing so I was wondering if you had any ideas what i could do to fix that as well?
Been wit distro their good ... real insightful ... too bad i decided to pull back & quit today ...i tried everything except clout ... maybe they're just not ready ... either way at least i have music i can make for me to have something to listen to cool video tho wish the best of luck to u all in this business

I've stopped using DK after they introduced a 30% fee in April 2020 without any warnings. I lost over 1k$ with that cut and they never refunded it to me. An artist called ''Dan Vasc'' made a good video on this topic, as he was robbed much more than I. UA-camrs like yourself should stop supporting the distributor that obviously doesn't care about their customers, just saying...
Dan Vasc is a moron who doesn't do his research on international tax law. DK didn't impose any secret fees and I hope they sue that idiot for defamation. If you look at the root issue it has nothing to do with DistroKid.

I'm on distrokid; my song, When We Die? has over 100k legit listeners. thanks for this vid, I didn't even know about the playlist vote thing. I did know about vizy; used it once but wasn't impressed; they just stuck my song art in some lame template, feh.

distrokid is perfect for what I'm doing for 2021. I'm releasing a new song every Monday for a year straight, it's an experiment on consistency and Distrokid lets me do this for very cheap since it's unlimited uploads. I'll be documenting this on my channel and instagram

Spotlight doesn't list the song I want to actually use and I have raised this issue with Distrokid more times than I care to recall, so a nice feature, but for me it is basically useless.

Hey adam , or anyone that wants to answer this l have a question, how do you start back up doing music after taking a little break? last 2 years have been rough but it's not like i had a fanbase before so i was wondering how should l start my journey? Just keep dropping songs consistently? should l build hype around if i have a couple songs i'm feeling confident to release? what advice would you guys give a fresh fresh artist who hasn't put music out in forever
Start off by having a plan and a goal follow me on Instagram@superstar_scell I took a break too and hoping to get back this month we could motivate each other
I would first make sure your music is high quality before releasing. Otherwise people just won't care. Once your music is up to par there are two routes you can take with this. The paid approach or organic approach. For paid I recommend Music Marketing Manifesto. For organic I recommend the content on Adam's channel. Perhaps even check out his music marketing course. Been using Distrokid for a year. Seems to be working fine.
I used distrokid but I don't like that there are so many add ons (It get's pretty expensive). And also, I heard they charge taxes even tho that is not logical
People need to understand international tax law. It’s only illogical to those unfamiliar with laws and policies.
@@adamivy I get that, but it is the only distributor were you have to pay some kind of "taxes". Also customer service is not that nice, cause usually it is just a robot emailing you. But other than that I loved distrokid! I truly did but I find service very important.
