Surprised to see any old school S&W's on someone's list but I understand. Recently purchased a 6904 to round out my Wonder 9 collection. Only got it for the collection purpose so I was incredibly surprised when I shot it and genuinely really enjoyed it. Grip ergonomics are dated and slide mounted safeties are awful(so I milled mine flush), but it shot great. Did not expect it's single action pull and reset to be the best of all my DA/SA guns. I actually carry it sometimes even.
The Marlin Model 60 was a gift on my 16th birthday in 1971. It has the squirrels on the stock and was my first gun and squirrel gun for many years. I have a Weaver Marksman 4X scope on it.
5. HK USP Tactical 4. P365x with Icarus Precision aluminum grip module (carry gun) 3. CZ Shadow 2 Compact ( there’s a reason these are sold out everywhere right now) 2. @@jackomalley3687 Agreed. However it is just an iconic weapon that stands the test of time. And if you install the Grey Gun short reset trigger system to the match trigger that comes on the Tactical, it is very usable. Not to the level of the Langdon Beretta trigger, but IMO almost nothing is . . .. ;-)
Ahh...if only the CZ Shadow 2 Compact had a steel frame...it'd be near perfect. To be honest what I truly want is a full size Shadow 2 but with a full pic rail. But I'd take a steel frame version of the compact as well.
My first hand gun is a 1911 not comparable to your Wilson combat, but my kimber stainless custom II in 45 acp has been absolutely reliable and it is my bed side, answer the door hand gun!!

I have only been acquainted with a dozen or so guns. I've enjoyed them all from single shot 22cal rifle to M16 to M60 to magnum wheel guns. My favorite of all is a warm gun. Currently I am learning how to love my M&P 2.0 compact with baldr s and Holosun SCS. At 60yo I am moving from iron sights and going back to EDC, something I haven't done for 35yrs when I carried money for church deposits. Pray for Nov 2024.
great list man and I love all the firearms that you mentioned (especially the Walther P99 and PDP). How is the HK P30 with the Langdon trigger group? I don't know anyone who actually has one and always wanted to try it.
My favorite carry gun is my S&W M&P Sheld Plus. I also recently bought a Glock 19 Gen 5 MOS. It's got a Holosun red dot sight on it and I love it. I have a few 1911's. Springfield Armory MC Operator, which I love, Rock Island Armory 1911 in 45 ACP in FDE. And a RIA 1911 in 9MM. All great guns and lots of fun to shoot. And one Staccato C2. Congratulations on the acquisition of the Wilson Combat CQB. New or used, they're great guns. Wish I had one.
To me, it would be: 1. SIG P365 (general purpose and carry) 2. Glock 19 (any G19 clone works. Most aftermarket, reliable, mags are everywhere) 3. Browning Hi-Power (Extremely reliable, gorgeous, my favorite pistol) 4. Taurus 692 (revolvers are always important to have in the collection, and the 692 can shoot 4 calibers by only changing the cylinder) 5. Taurus TX22 Compact (best 22 pistol in the market imo) Bonus: SIG P226 or CZ-75 (rugged, reliable, two of the best DA SA pistols ever made)
Of what I own . 1 . Staccato P 2. Cz ts2 3. Staccato c2 4. Dan Wesson guardian 5 Magnum research 1911 with extensive work by nighthawk customer. Honorable mention cz s2c and beretta centurion by Wilson combat.
This was really good, thanks . Talk about really liking the 45 auto ! I did three combat tours with them in the 60's . I actually owe my life to having that weapon . Actually saved me more than once there . When l returned home l joined our police department and back then we could Carey whatever we wanted . I had a Jim Clark very smooth 45. He was a famous gunsmith around here in the Shreveport , La. area .People bought his custom 45's from all over the country . I don't think l will go for a 10mm because l know what the .45 can do . Take care and keep sending out those very good programs . Yours, Rick Bicknell

I'm a pistol shooting wannabe. I wish I could shoot a pistol like you for sure. I have never been that good with pistols probably because I just don't give them enough time. I am more of a rifle guy and am pretty good with them. I don't own a 1911 but have had them in my hand on many occasions and they feel awesome. I have small hands and the CZ Shadow 2 compact feels great. I may pull the trigger and get one soon. I think I might like the Wilson Combat SF9 also.
$1,200 is not "super affordable"., for what you get. It's possibly "a bargain " for what you get. Id argue, a G3C IS super affordable for what you get. Choosing words carefully, matters.
This is really hard !!! 1. FN 509c- my edc/1st gun/always goes bang 2. Watchtower Apache - impress the in-laws 3. Cz shadow 2- because of you!!! 4. Volquartson black mamba- makes 22lr cool again Prayers brother!! ❤️
.22LR has always been cool. The only people who think otherwise have an ammunition sponsor or don't shoot nearly as much as they claim they do. In terms of bang per buck, you get about 3.5x the number of bangs, and that matters to people who do honest work.
Another great video, really like that you mentioned the optics you run, would like to see you do an optics video for AR again if your opinion has changed since the last one
I've been through a LOT of guns the past few years. Maybe 20-30k worth. In no particular order my top 5 forever (barring AR pistols of course) are: -Glock 19 (completely stock any gen) -Walther PDP Pro SD Compact (set up a particular way, eps, pmm comp, ZR tactical Guide rod, 14# uncaptured recoil spring, Modlite OKW) -Alchemy Custom Weaponry Quantico Hicap with SRO and full DLC (the king of 2011s. Most accurate, most reliable, most tastefully manufactured. Beat out my Athena, Legion Precision, nighthawk and Lonestar Custom to make this list) -M & P Shield Plus w/ Night Sights ($200-$300 secondhand) -Staccato C2 Limited w/ extra bull barrel (comes with dawson comp and Leupold DPP, paid $500 extra for a DLC bull barrel for CC) I could go my whole life with just these five pistols and be happy. Would not desire to own any other firearms even. Of course I DO, so the honorable mention is the Tippmann Arms M4-22 elite micro bugout in 22lr. Reliable, amazing mags, accurate, no recoil, fast, and above all SMALL.
My ideal list would probably be: 1. CZ P-01, 2. S&W M&P Shield Plus, 3. M&P 2.0 compact, 4. 1911 45acp (classic) 5. A 22lr... im still unsure but possibly Ruger SR22 So hard to choose after i got thinking about it! Honorary mentions for the M&P 2.0 full size and CZ SP-01 and PX4 Storm for 40 or 9mm...

If I could only have 1 gun it would be the gen 5 glock 20. The 10mm cartridge is so versatile. If however it could only be a 9mm my gun would be the Walther PDP
Nice guns. We are similar in only one aspect. The 1911. Mine is the Colt Combat Commander blue finish .45acp. Next up is my Ruger MKIII with threaded barrel. Followed by the Smith and Wesson 617 .22lr. Then my Sig P226R and Finally my Smith and Wesson 586 6". As an aside, if I could have a sixth, it would be my Gen 3 Glock 19.
The Volq Scorpion is a MkIII, but built to higher specifications. And I think they all have threaded barrels, and most of them come with compensators installed already, too. The Black Mamba is their MkIV.
Lost my Dad a year ago (WWII POW airman) and he told me a few times one of his biggest regrets was “trading a 1911 for an outboard motor” upon his return in the ‘40’s. My two favorites are a SW 686 6” that I bought in a pawn shop 25 years ago and my Springfield 1911 9mm 6’ target. I’m sure you miss your Dad everyday like I do. 0:19
I unfortunately only have 1 atm. My P229 Legion with procut slide and Holosun SCS320 But I know the next 4. A Stealth Arms Platypus, X-5 P226 Legion, P365 Legion, CZ Shadow 2 and a Daniel Defense Hudson. Probably the P365 next because I need something smaller than the 229 for summer carry. And for me it shot like a champ same as the Hudson.
It seems like you're willing to spend a little more to get something a little better. You might want to look into legoing together your own P365. Do a web search for Parker Mountain Machine and Icarus Precision. PMM makes excellent barrel-compensator combo packages and Icarus makes awesome grip modules. Maybe throw in a custom slide if you're feeling like a baller. If you're interested in learning more about custom P365 builds, you might want to check out Skips Gunz channel here on youtube. Outlaw has mentioned him once or twice on this channel. He does good trigger work, so he's someone to keep in mind to order the FCU+trigger from, or perhaps put together the whole thing for you. And I know I sound like an advertisement, but I'm really just a very satisfied customer. lol
I will give my two carry guns; Compact is a Shield Plus, not a performance center though, Springfield XD Service for my full-size carry. I am looking to get something to mount an optic on, I am thinking the Springfield Echelon. The debate is between the Echelon and an M&P 2.0 Performance Center. Leaning towards the Echelon because for whatever reason I have been doing really well with my Springfield. Who knew? I am not saying that Smith is not as good, it is just that it seems easier to shoot well with the Springfields I have used. I enjoy your content and respect your opinions. Thank you for what you do.
So surprised, AND ECSTATIC, to see the S&W Shield Plus!!! I love this gun. I have both 3 and 4 inch PC versions of this gun and have WELL over 4,000 rounds thru the 3” without a single fail. I lost count after a range day with the boys 😆. And over a 2,000 rounds thru the 4”, again without a single fail.
Great list! 5-Color Case Hardened GI-1911 4-Ruger Single Six (Bisley style) 3-Tisas Raider .45 2-Taurus TX22(against all odds but mine is stupid accurate and I’ve ditched all my other 22 pistols due to this one’s performance being that darn good) 1-Sig Sauer P365XL
Read that as only 5 guns period. I was thinking Glock 19 or 17, 1911, AR-15, GOOD semiautomatic or pump 12 gauge, and then last one would be shooter's choice. for me, probably a pocket pistol or revolver for deep concealment / basketball shorts weather. Maybe that LCR in 22, 10 shots of 22 in a revolver is pretty sweet. Plus it's cheap to train with, which is good for something like that since you really need to train when it comes to those heavy double action triggers.
I agree with you about the Shield. 1) my M&P Shield plus is the shit. 2) So is my M&P Shield 2.0. Going to buy a 3) Performance Center now. Smith has knocked it out of the park with the Shield series of pistols. Of course a 4) Raptor and a 5) Python. Still love wheel guns. Just beautiful!

Mrs. Outlaw's 'beep' just cracks me up😆
Would love to see more on the Volquartsen or other .22 pistols. Might be a good (quiet) way to ramp back up in your shooting. Best wishes on the continued recovery!

#1 Marlin 22lr rifle. First firearm I ever had, bought for me on Christmas by my dad.
The Marlin60 22lr was my first rifle. Love it!
This IS my #1 channel. Thanks Chris, local Des Moines fan!
I might swap out one for a compact carry option, but that's the beauty of firearm preferences-it's all about finding what works best for you.
Very enjoyable video. Thank you for sharing sentimental memories of your dad. I hope he's very proud of you. Please keep up the good work.
5. HK USP Tactical
4. P365x with Icarus Precision aluminum grip module (carry gun)
3. CZ Shadow 2 Compact ( there’s a reason these are sold out everywhere right now)
2. Staccato XC
(Honorable Mention- Wilson Combat EDCX9)
1. Langdon Tactical Beretta 92 (yes i like it better than the XC- the trigger is just incredible)
Hk has too much over-travel and single action is bot so great
@@jackomalley3687 Agreed.
Also the price of the Shadow 2 Compact is crazy...
@@ThisHandleIsTaken1 I have the Beretta m9a4 centurion and that reset is just as short as sig p226 legion. Walther ppq with apex trigger is awesome
Great list, great reasons. Glad you are healing up😎
My first hand gun is a 1911 not comparable to your Wilson combat, but my kimber stainless custom II in 45 acp has been absolutely reliable and it is my bed side, answer the door hand gun!!
First time commenter, been watching for awhile though. I love the channel, the guns and your easy going demeanor man. You definitely saved me from a few purchase errors. Thanks, and keep sneaking in the jokes!
Glad your doing better blowing an ear drum is not fun and I agree 100% on the 1911 love
I really like how you can appreciate a good gun for a good gun and not be overly brand biased or blind to their success or failures.
Good on you for your Dad. My Dad also used a 1911! Had a few marksman medals from the service. I hope they meet in Heaven.
Honest outlaw not only shoots straight he cuts grass straight, WOW!
Excellent video. Pray you keep making progress with your ear treatments. No order from my collection besides #1.

At 60yo I am moving from iron sights and going back to EDC, something I haven't done for 35yrs when I carried money for church deposits.

great list man and I love all the firearms that you mentioned (especially the Walther P99 and PDP).

To me, it would be:
1. SIG P365 (general purpose and carry)
2. Glock 19 (any G19 clone works. Most aftermarket, reliable, mags are everywhere)
3. Browning Hi-Power (Extremely reliable, gorgeous, my favorite pistol)
4. Taurus 692 (revolvers are always important to have in the collection, and the 692 can shoot 4 calibers by only changing the cylinder)
5. Taurus TX22 Compact (best 22 pistol in the market imo)

Long live the 1911! Great review and list. Thanks for posting. My list of 5 are CZs, Colts, and a Remington.
Thanks! Great info. Utility is king.

.22LR has always been cool.
I agree with you Chris. Nothing like a classic look and feel of a 1911 in the hand. 👍

Your #1 is pick and story behind it is fantastic.
I've been through a LOT of guns the past few years. Maybe 20-30k worth. In no particular order my top 5 forever (barring AR pistols of course) are:
-Glock 19 (completely stock any gen)
-Walther PDP Pro SD Compact (set up a particular way, eps, pmm comp, ZR tactical Guide rod, 14# uncaptured recoil spring, Modlite OKW)
-Alchemy Custom Weaponry Quantico Hicap with SRO and full DLC (the king of 2011s. Most accurate, most reliable, most tastefully manufactured. Beat out my Athena, Legion Precision, nighthawk and Lonestar Custom to make this list)
-M & P Shield Plus w/ Night Sights ($200-$300 secondhand)
-Staccato C2 Limited w/ extra bull barrel (comes with dawson comp and Leupold DPP, paid $500 extra for a DLC bull barrel for CC)
I could go my whole life with just these five pistols and be happy. Would not desire to own any other firearms even. Of course I DO, so the honorable mention is the Tippmann Arms M4-22 elite micro bugout in 22lr. Reliable, amazing mags, accurate, no recoil, fast, and above all SMALL.
My ideal list would probably be:
1. CZ P-01,
2. S&W M&P Shield Plus,
3. M&P 2.0 compact,
4. 1911 45acp (classic)
5. A 22lr... im still unsure but possibly Ruger SR22
So hard to choose after i got thinking about it! Honorary mentions for the M&P 2.0 full size and CZ SP-01 and PX4 Storm for 40 or 9mm...
No. 1: Beretta PX4 compact 9 mm; No. 2: Beretta 92X compact 9 mm; No. 3: Ruger EC9s 9 mm; No. 4: Bersa Thunder Plus .380; No. 5: Kel-Tec P3AT .380 (Honorable mention: Ruger LCP II and LCP Max .380; Beretta 3032 Tomcat .32 ACP. Mostly, I carry the Kel-Tec and the EC9s, because I live in Texas, where one needs to dress light. Both are reliable and stupid accurate in my hands.
Beretta PX4 Storm is also an under rated series! It's a great option, almost on my list
the ones no one talks about besides kahr

If I could only have 1 gun it would be the gen 5 glock 20. The 10mm cartridge is so versatile. If however it could only be a 9mm my gun would be the Walther PDP
Thanks for a fun video. The best part is reading all the comments and their choices.
Will put some of their choices on my to buy someday list@
A friend of mine has a 617 he has let me shoot a few times. It's a sweet, sweet gun. 👍

What a save at number one! Totally amazing.
I unfortunately only have 1 atm. My P229 Legion with procut slide and Holosun SCS320
But I know the next 4.
And I know I sound like an advertisement, but I'm really just a very satisfied customer. lol
Some of my best memories of my father was us shooting and our turkey hunting trips. Never forget.
My personal top 5 are:
1) CZ Shadow 2
2) CZ P-10C
3) CZ P-01
4) CANIK TP9SA
5) (to be determined)
Great list!
5-Color Case Hardened GI-1911
4-Ruger Single Six (Bisley style)
3-Tisas Raider .45
2-Taurus TX22(against all odds but mine is stupid accurate and I’ve ditched all my other 22 pistols due to this one’s performance being that darn good)
1-Sig Sauer P365XL
