Inside the hood on the left side you will find a sticker that shows belt routing, common parts like spark plug, oil filter, air filter, and fuel filter Part numbers.. and accessories too
Something to go wrong after 200 hrs of use. My honda gxv140 mower with a manual choke and throttle is about 20 years old runs like a top with no issues. I'm fixing someone's 3 year old honda mower today because the auto choke feature is failing. I do like cool new stuff though.
Drive by wire I can't get too excited about. The new fuel injection system for riding mowers - now, that I can get excited about. Unfortunately, not all manufacturers have moved over to it. Will take some time. Of course, I really haven't reviewed the FI systems being used, am assuming they work better than the carbureted mowers.
Good demonstration, I'm impressed! I'm seriously considering purchasing this mower. My only concern is the longevity of this Chinese built engine vs. the Kohler option. Has anyone out there put many hard hours on this relatively new entry? Does it have a cast iron sleeve like the Kohler and Briggs and Stratton?
This is the second channel I've seen review this machine and still no one seems to know how it works beneath the marketing buzz words. What is Intellipower? This mower uses a single cylinder engine which according to the parts list on the Cub Cadet website, still uses a carburetor. It is not fuel injected. So what is Intellipower? It appears to be nothing more than an electrically operated throttle and choke (there are little electric motors which control the throttle and choke plate in the carburetor). As you turn that throttle control on the dash it opens the throttle plate more. This is exactly how Honda generators with Eco-Throttle work. Still not sure how Intellipower delivers 20% more power from an engine as when an engine is at wide-open throttle that's it. But... I guess if it gets customers to run out and buy one then kudos to Cub. ;-) I just see more VERY expensive parts to fail on something that is supposed to be a simple riding mower.
EOSJOE it’s just a fuel injected engine, when it notices extra load it increases fuel air mixture creating more power. Cross out the intellipower and replace it with “electronic fuel injected”
@@randomsanwhich2 But it isn't fuel injected. It has a carburetor. Checkout the parts diagram on the Cut website. You can even see it on the side of the engine when Dan has the hood open - fuel shutoff solenoid on the side of the bowl and all. :-) All that is different is instead of a cable operated choke and governor lever, it uses two little electric motors. One on the throttle plate and one on the choke plate.
It is basically electronic control of the throttle. It takes all the work out of it and maintains the best cut speed. It still has a carb but acts like fuel injection especially on start up.
@@Toolsinaction It is actually electronic control of the Governor which in turn actuates the throttle plate. That's why they call the dial on the dash an "eGovernor control". As far as having anything to do with fuel injection you must be looking at different information than I am. The Intellipower module has nothing to do with fuel flow. It's not even throttle body injection. It is a plain and simple carburetor. It has a bowl, a float, needle valve and jets. It still requires a choke to start. It's just that an electric motor closes the choke plate instead of pulling a cable. Don't be blinded by the marketing buzz words. I'm not saying it's not maybe an improvement over a mechanical governor but the 20% more power thing seems a bit of a stretch.
Interesting, I've always been told that air cooled lawn mower engines should always be run at full throttle so as to cool the engine more efficiently since the cooling fan is on the fly wheel. Same for Hydro-static transmissions since the fan that cools the transmission spins faster at higher engine rpm. That Intellipower dial has you running the engine at partial throttle for just driving around or normal mowing. Your only at full throttle for the heavy stuff. Seems it would be harder on both the engine and tranny.
Thank you for the PSA reminder about not having children bond with us while mowing the lawn. Us men needed to hear that from a guy who introduces this awesome Cub Cadet as a Toro. 😆 🤣 😂
I gotta 2020 and it's not running high rpm so I started moving the intellipower knob and it doesn't work . I tap on it and it bogs down more . Junk if you ask me and I want to bypass it and run it wide open all the time .
@@Toolsinaction Yeh i did think that afterwards. Best video I have ever seen of yours was the Ryobi rep who came in, God I was in tears, one of the funniest Vids I've seen 😅
So this is nothing more than a throttle by wire system like most of today's cars have...no throttle cable anymore, its electronically controlled. So instead of a throttle lever like we've had forever, they went to a knob and wires to control the throttle plate and choke.
"it automatically adjust power on demand" Sounds like a governor to me... UP TO 20% more power! ok but how much? UP TO 20%! AND, it's not even a fuel injected setup!!! More hassle, no benefits
A lot of hooey. Electronics have ruined cars and will do the same with tractors. Only dealers will be able service them and will be able to shut them off whenever they choose. My X330 will run for probably 15 more years so I'm not worried. By that time grass will quit growing when it reaches a certain height. We'll probably have to pay an annual license fee for grass or it will die.
Nice tractor but I hop the engine lasts u its just a power more brand it's actually a real cheap engine look it up the kohler would of been the better bet even know it only has the 2 year warrent instead of a 3 year with the engine from Japan I'm not knocking ur mower I work at a small engine buisness
my lawnmower has god controlled intellipower no computer it magicallly raises the throttle when i hit hi grass it has a mini god in the engine at all times!!!! OMG
avoid at all costs I cannot stress that enough. the carb will fail. and fail and fail the intelllipower should be called "ultra dumb ass power" or "No Power"
I have this mower and can steer it with the palm of my hand. It "almost" feels like power steering. My next door neighbor has a Troybilt. It takes both hands for me to easily turn it.
I have one of the intellipower cub cadet's and I can tell you... they SUCK. I hate this mower. Wait until you get the over reving going on. You will know what I mean.
Inside the hood on the left side you will find a sticker that shows belt routing, common parts like spark plug, oil filter, air filter, and fuel filter Part numbers.. and accessories too

I would’ve waited for the lawn to dry out, but thanks for showing us!
It is always wet there
Tools In Action that’s what she said
Judging from your tire tracks your mowing in mud... incredibly wet... I'd never mow in those conditions, impressive!

My neighbor was giving his kid a ride and accidentally ran over his kid with a mower. Took a chunk out of his leg, luckily he made a full recovery.

That sounds about right.

nice tractor i like cubs i had a 1960s 12hp cub
i like how you demo it 1st guy i saw to get it to lose power lmao you mowed a corn field!

I was thinking about getting it but it sounds like it struggles in the high grass my 22 hp v twin goes rite though high grass without bogging down
It's like the mower channel now 😅
Love the content though 👍
Spring is mowers. tons more coming

Did you guys just fall for a gimick or what? There was nothing stopping you from adding more throttle on any other mower....
Some people like ease of use.
To each his own. With intellipower, you don't have to reach for the throttle to increase the power when it is needed.
So this is nothing more than a throttle by wire system like most of today's cars have...no throttle cable anymore, its electronically controlled. So instead of a throttle lever like we've had forever, they went to a knob and wires to control the throttle plate and choke.

It does have a benefit. It increases the speed of the blades to cut the thicker grasses/weeds.
I thought we liked the Lithium ion 42e ?
Rut yard 101
It's absolutely not fuel injected.

From toro you said?
Long day lots of filming.. Could have accidentally misspoke.
I thought you liked electric mower
The title of this vid didn't age well, no more "IntelliPower" in their lineup.

You can tell a cheap ride mower when it’s a vertical shift engine. Only single cylinder as well. No power steering. Stamped deck.
Meh.
Vertical shaft doesn't necessarily mean cheap. Most commercial mowers have a vertical shaft engine.
I have this mower and can steer it with the palm of my hand. It "almost" feels like power steering. My next door neighbor has a Troybilt. It takes both hands for me to easily turn it.
Cheap china electronics and engine
Its still MTD. Plus, it has one of those chinese clone engines. It wont be reliable in the long run.
I have one of the intellipower cub cadet's and I can tell you... they SUCK. I hate this mower. Wait until you get the over reving going on. You will know what I mean.
