Hi, I'm watching one of your earlier videos from 2 years ago - just music, no commentary - I wanted to refresh my memory as to how you did the doodleing. I painted a small tray yesterday and couldn't remember how you did the drawings. Great work, but can I say I much prefer listening to you explaining the process and chatting about your day 😀
Wow, I forgot about that bowl. I need to do another one of those! 😀 After I dabbed on the colors, I used a Xiem Applicator Bottle with a #20 tip to draw/doodle on the bowl. Once that was dry, I brushed on two coats of Amaco HF-9 Zinc-free Clear.
Wow, it’s like magic watching you work. Love how you use the tube to add the black lines to all your colors. Just started watching your videos. Thanks so much for sharing how you do this.
W.O.W!!! You are a wonderful artist! Inspiring indeed!🎉 Beautiful, functional art. I love it. Thank You❤❤❤ May I ask ... are these Amaco velvet underglazes?
Hi Helen. Yes, the black lines are made with Amaco's Jet Black Underglaze. When it was dry, I applied two coats of a zinc-free clear glaze. Thanks for watching! 😀
I do not water it down, unless I really want a faint color. I actually pour them into a plastic bead tray with a lid, and let them dry out a little. The pigment is more concentrated that way.
I'm not sure what you're asking, but these are Amaco Velvet Underglazes, that I put in a bead tray. I apply a zinc-free clear glaze after the underglaze has dried, and fire to cone 5. 😀 Thanks for watching!
My favorite is Amaco Velvets. I have had issues lately with Speedball sticking to the shelves, and the pieces sticking to each other. Ugh. Thanks for watching!!
Hello! I showed the finished product in the kiln opening video following this video. Since I painted with underglazes, the bowl turned out exactly as I showed it in this video, except it was shiny when it came out of the kiln. In the future, now that I'm better at figuring out how to make videos, I'm going to start adding the finished product. :-) Sorry about that. Thanks for watching!! 😀
I show them in my kiln openings. I'll try to think ahead and put the whole process in some of the future videos. Still learning this technical video stuff. :-)
Just came across you painting this bowl. Love the colors and designs with the music playing in the background.
Thank you!! ❤️
Your welcome 😊

That is amazing! It was a pleasure to watch, thank you for sharing! I was wondering: was it a bone dry piece or it’s already bisque fired?
I always glaze on bisqueware. :-)
I love your doodle art! Is the black an underglaze too? And did you end up putting a glaze of the top?
Hi Helen. Yes, the black lines are made with Amaco's Jet Black Underglaze. When it was dry, I applied two coats of a zinc-free clear glaze. Thanks for watching! 😀

Bisqueware
Do you water down your underglaze or use it straight from the jar?
I do not water it down, unless I really want a faint color. I actually pour them into a plastic bead tray with a lid, and let them dry out a little. The pigment is more concentrated that way.
@@WildAcornsArtStudio thanks!
