When pricing things out for a store, I really think people don’t understand how much time it takes to hand paint a whole piece. Your work is beautiful.
I love your videos!!! I was intrigued and in awe watching you underglaze!! The way you blend colors was fascinating to watch!! It really made me want to experiment! Great video! I just watched you video on brushes which I also enjoyed; think I feel like I have just enough info to want to play around with color combos!! Thank you!!!!
Thank you for this video. I just visited your website and ordered my first workshop video. Can't wait to get started. I'll be collecting the supplies tomorrow. Thanks againf or posting this video.

Hello... Can I use underglaze on greenware and un bisque ware? And when I glaze should I brush only around underglaze or on underglaze as well? Thanks. Céline from Switzerland
Hello Celine! Yes, you can use underglazes on green ware and bisque...it is easier to fix mistakes on greenware however. I glaze around because it tends to change the look of my illustrations if I glaze over. Generally, You can glaze right over underglazes if you wish!
Great video. In the video you didn't say what made the base tile white. Was the tile white and already fired to gloss? Or do you paint directly on bisque ware. I watched Lennea Lark video and she painted on a white as base to then put underglaze on the design. But she didn't say what the white was, a glaze or underglaze? I was under the impression that underglaze couldn't be put over a glaze (unfired).
I use porcelain clay that dries white and fires white. I use it because paint underglaze on green ware and the white, smooth clay makes the colors pop. I then bisque fire to cone 04 - apply whatever glaze and then high fire. Watch a few more of my painting vids and you'll get a better sense of the process. Thanks!
It looks like you are painting an opaque white glaze around the underglazed painting and (I think) not applying any glaze over the painted portions. Am I understanding that correctly?
Hi Lois. All underglazes are different. There are some underglazes that will burn out at the higher temperatures. I try not to use those. It just takes a little testing to make sure the underglazes you are using behave at the higher temps before committing them to the work... Check out my instructional videos if you want my suggestions....vimeo.com/showcase/6725318
Wow. This technique reminds me a great deal of watercolor painting. My mind is tingling with the possibilities!! 🤩🤩✨✨🤩🤩
I am a relative newbie at pottery making, so I learn much from watching your videos. You're such a good teacher. Thank you Anne!

Thanks Evelyn! Glad you enjoyed it - love to paint with UG's!
Love your work! If I wanted brighter colors just don’t water colors down as much right? I would love bright yellow lemons or pears but mixing is nice
멋진 작품 감상 잘 했습니다
감사합니다

this is gorgeous, thanks for doing this. is it painted on bone dry?
Greenware stage...yep.
Do you paint this on greenware or bisque? Also when do you apply the clear glaze?
Always greenware - rarely use clear - watch again for my trick! :) as well as this studio.ua-cam.com/users/videofZmdqNYMR1U/edit

@@LittleStreetPottery thank you for your answer 😘. I will try in the next months
Can you colour/underglaze background first (covering the whole pot) then do your designs? Or will it all blend in together?
Never tried it but if I did, I would have to start with a very light base. Thanks!
Lefty-YAY!
Lefties rule! :-)

Hi Ann, do you add water to the underglaze?
Many times, yes. It helps when the underglaze is a little dry and it helps it roll off the brush more smoothly.
It looks like you are painting an opaque white glaze around the underglazed painting and (I think) not applying any glaze over the painted portions. Am I understanding that correctly?
YEs indeed!
But would it work OK to apply clear glaze over the entire piece before firing it? And was it then fired at cone 6?
what brushes did you use. the link does not work. thankyou
Thanks for the heads up Ann...the link should work now.
Merhaba boya olarak ne kullanıyorsunuz?
“Underglaze”
Wondering how you get away with so little underglaze... and not have it burn away in firing.
