Awe girl don’t even worry about him ♡ You handled the situation so respectfully and he had no business acting like such a fool. He only acted like that since it was two young women and thats inexcusable. People really need to do better but props to you and your friend for continuing to be apologetic and understanding. Hope you have a fun/safe trip and keep your head up girlie!!💗🫶
Aw I’m sorry that happened to you ☹️ I would have felt the same way I really don’t like upsetting people and it can be really scary and intense when people escalate situations like that and especially in a place you aren’t familiar with! I hope the rest of your trip was better 🤍
it's okay babe! i think it's important to mention such moments on a solo trip because there's a lot of girls out there, who are probably on their first solo trip but since so much of it is glorified online, they don't really see it coming. i'm so sorry that this happened to you. thank you for still putting this clip in. just know we'll keep watching! 🫧🩷
Judy please don't be so hard on yourself for this. I watch a Japanese youtuber (like born and raised in Japan) and during a livestream even though the camera was pointing at himself and filming his face only a man walking by got really angry about it and even escalated it to the police. I think there's just some angry bored men around that will start a fight for no reason just because you're carrying a camera. When I was in Japan some men would purposedly bump really hard into me just because I'm a woman walking by. Be careful.
I'm so sorry Jude.. All of us are here to support you. I'm glad you chose to post the clip in the end because we like you because you're real with us. Most people blur strangers in shots if they do get them too so it's hard for me to understand why they got so heated, especially when you were compliant and deleted the footage in front oh them. I don't blame you and I don't think you should blame yourself. I hope you were still able to enjoy your trip
@jialiblob it was like this when I visited Tokyo back in 2006. I was trying to take pictures, and a security guard ran over and stopped me. It is the law in many areas, especially places in Tokyo. It just isn't common knowledge.
I just reached the end of the video and I hope you're okay now! I know some time must have passed since that day, but it genuinely does sound really terrifying and your reaction was so valid. I think it says plenty about that man and not you. Sending love 💜💜💜
I'm one of your Japanese fans and I just wanted to say so sorry for what you had to go through. Unfortunately there are weird men here from time to time and I feel so bad one of them had to do that to you. Believe me most people here won't care if someone's filming as long as it's not like they're the main person in that frame, and you were already cautious from the beginning so you have nothing to feel bad about. Hearing how self conscious he was, I feel like he had mental issues and that's not something we can control so again, there's nothing you need to be sorry for. If you ever come to Japan again please film as much as you like and hope you could enjoy your trip more than this time.
I am so sorry for what happened Judy, but you indeed handled it super well, things like that can be so hard, and in a foreign country, even harder. SUPER excited for this series, I am sure it will be amazing, like always ❤
I’m so sorry that happened to you. I have social anxiety. I would’ve have a complete panic attack. There is no expectation of privacy in a public space. I’ve been caught in the back of videos. Travel is so brave- especially solo travel. I wonder if it’s like that everywhere. Take care, you sweet gal! Thanks for sharing your experience.
I had a similar experience where I can see where my vlogging could have made someone uncomfortable but they also escalated the situation after I did my part just like you. That was a years ago (the second day with my first ever vlogging camera) and I’m still traumatized/scared I haven’t picked up vlogging in public since. I’m really sad cause I wanted vlogging to be my way of remembering and sharing my experiences of life. I’m sorry you had to experience that and you’re so strong to find a way to continue and not let this bother you. I’m working on it still. But you inspire me to try again. Thank you ❤
Amazing editing as always ❤❤ I’m sorry you had to go through that with the guy I can’t imagine how nerve wracking that must be especially in a foreign country

I'm so so sorry for what happened to you at the dinner, Judy.😭 You did nothing wrong. Really. You didn't record other people in the first place and on top of it, you deleted the footage. Aw, Judy! So sorry that happened to you. I hope you were still able to enjoy the rest of the trip. You probably handled it very well but understandably that type of situation can be so stressful and scary so so glad to hear that you came out of it with your important footages in tact. I'm browsing a lot of solo travel vlogs to find video inspirations and I stumbled upon this video. Truly sorry to what happened to you literally at the end of your FIRST day in Japan, all things considered in the video. And the fact that police was called that's insane to me. I hope your trip was okay after that! I'm going solo for the 3rd time and I hope nothing like that happens.

Hi Judy! I’ve been following you for some time now, but it’s the first time I actually comment on a video! First of all, I wanted to thank you for actually vlogging your trip! I know it’s hard! Solo traveling is the best. I’ve been to Japan a few times, but always with someone. This summer I went alone for the first time and it was the best trip I’ve had in my life! Second, I wanted to say I’m sorry for what happened to you. It must have been really stressful to even have the police there… this person overreacted. You deleted the footage, that should’ve been the end of it. I’m sorry you had to experience such a stressful experience. I hope the rest of the trip was amazing though!!!
Japanese people are tired of Live Streamers and vloggers, as well as people drinking in the streets and on the trains. I think the guy just over reacted. But there are some vigilante groups in Tokyo accosting people doing these things, but they usually gang up on one person, never a group. I was falsely arrested in Tokyo by a vigilante group (it's called Citizen's Arrest) who accused me of recording women and girls on the trains, I spent 23 days in jail during the investigation.
@@j.uuuuudy Sorry you had a bad experience on your visit. I've lived in Tokyo for over 20 years, vigilantism is something new in Japan. But now there is a thing called Nuisance Live Streamers, foreigners as well as Japanese. The most recent case is "Johnny Somali". He's black American whowas annoying Japanese people and committing crimes on live streams in Tokyo and Osaka. Long story short, he was arrested and may serve several years in prison. Do some research on these people and avoid being associated with them on your next visit.
Dear Judy, I just want you to know that you never have to explain, justify, or apologize for how you felt about something unless you want to❤Feelings are the result of millions of years of evolution and natural selection, they exist to protect us😊As a fellow introvert, I completely understand how a situation like that can trigger overwhelming emotions in someone who is just really trying their best to consider the neeeds of everyone. In this case, I think that the man went way over the line, he seems like a bit of a bully. You did nothing wrong and you should have nothing to feel sorry for. I hope the rest of your trip was happy, lighthearted, and free of assholes like him🙈
So sorry to hear that happened to you. I think he definitely overreacted after you clearly wiped off the footage in front of him he should of just let it go. He had no right to ask you to wipe your sd card. It was unintentional and not your fault at all.
Girl I’m from Israel and I needed this video so much I’m carrying right now I’m so happy people have the privilege to see the world and enjoy it❤❤ Peace and love from me❤🇮🇱
That literally makes me so mad that he treated you that way. What right does he think he has to demand you to delete footage? Who even cares if he had been in the shot or not, you could have blurred or even edited him out if he was (which I'm sure he wasn't). I'm a people pleaser so I would have deleted the clip too but as soon as he became irate and hostile, I would have stopped talking to him completely because that is down-right disrespectful and inappropriate behavior. I also would have told the restaurant that he was harassing you two if he continued. It's unacceptable. I'm so sorry you had to deal with that and him getting the police involved is super immature. You definitely handled the whole situation with grace. I am about to watch your next vlog so I am sure it's filled with lots of fun but my heart goes out to you either way because I am 23 and I can't imagine solo traveling. I want to but my family wouldn't let me because of how unsafe it is everywhere these days, but also I would feel quite intimidated myself. I think I would like to take a trip with just a best friend though.
Rule one, understand the customs and courtesies of the country you are traveling in. You also came in just on the heels of the Johnny Somali child, so people are very apprehensive nowadays. Permission is needed to film in any restaurant, these are considered private spaces. There is information all about this on the web and Japan travel guides. The man’s behavior although not frequent in Japan is common, especially when drunk. The Japanese police are not skilled in de-escalation, they are only trained to follow the letter of the law and keep the peace, so good luck dealing with a scenario, other than asking directions. The individual made a mountain out of a mole hill, but you need to give descriptors. Approximate age, dress, coherency, these factors will lead towards his attitude towards you. I grew up in the 70’s and 80’s in NYC, you always check the abode you enter and read the room. It’s not where you’re from it’s where you’re at. Why you are crying? I have no idea, possibly for attention, likes and views, The proper emotion is anger. I have lived here in Tokyo for 7 years, yes I’ve seen some things but never been apart of them. Fun fact Shibuya, Shinjuku, Akihabara, and Harajuku are place’s to see, not experience. I don’t set foot in those parts of Tokyo unless I have reason too. If you had gone to Nishi-Ogikubo or Kichijoji things may have been different, and the crowd more genuine.
Girl just hearing abt the situation made me so mad on ur behalf 😤 it’s the Aries in me lmao but I think that guy was being way too aggressive about that situation, esp when u immediately deleted it & apologized. Like calling the police over this?? it’s giving male Karen energy. I woulda fought him for u if I were there 👊🏻

If you had gone to Nishi-Ogikubo or Kichijoji things may have been different, and the crowd more genuine.
