Well this video immediately didn't age well. They already reported that crime has gone up for the first time in twenty years because of all the non-white foreigners they have to bring in. And don't even get me started on how they falsely accuse white people and force them to confess to crimes they didn't commit, coupled with the fact that their Μαrχιsτ government will import hundreds of thousands of foreigners because their companies don't have enough workers because of their aging population. Well, they already have....RIP.
13:55 Japan is not ten times cheaper skiing than Australia. Japan is one tenth the cost of skiing in Australia. Maybe interview foreigners at the Hospital who have been injured or gotten sick to see how the medical system works for students, foreign workers and tourists. There are a handful of cities in Latin America with Japanese populations. Lima Peru and Callao and Sao Paulo and a couple in the State of Parana Brazil. Another great video.
I’ve been rolling the idea of traveling to Japan around in my brain for years and I’d even started learning Japanese over a year ago, but I’d been so nervous about traveling alone. Seeing this video has really given me the push I needed to finally make those plans! Thank you for this!
I've been in your shoes as well. I would just say do it. I know saying it and doing it is totally different. But you have to take the leap but you would enjoy yourself in japan. I finally travel internally by myself and I enjoyed my stay in japan.
you don't really need to learn Nihongo in order to get around in Japan ... not unless you want to go to some small towns in the countryside...and yes Japan is really safe even for women solo travelers
Solo travelling is the best. It forces you to interact more with new people, instead of travelling with girlfriend/boyfriend or friend, where you tend to keep to each others company more. I've done most my travelling with others but look forward to more solo travel in the future. Definitely Japan is one of the safest places to do so.
Indeed, I feel especially as solo traveller and even more if you're a women, making your research of the place on how safe it is by looking at other traveller reviews is so important, also I recommend getting some tours with hotel pick-up/drop off, since the guide will give you a layer of protection and you can unwind even more, to avoid getting out late, unless you have booked a tour who will drop you off, to not be afraid to walk away from people with no thank you and a smile while not looking at them, you don't owe nothing to nobody and to *always* listen to your intuition. I've been solo travelling for years and love it as well, you just have to be aware of those things to not be naive, since they prey on the naive. Blessings xo

Please produce a video discussing the topic of the great game of baseball in Japan. Many would find that topic very interesting and the season will start soon. It is a sport that has transcended the cultures of America and Japan. I don't know if you are an enthusiast of the sport, but it is a passion shared by many around the world. Shohei Ohtani is currently the highest-compensated athlete on the planet and global interest in baseball has grown outside of our two countries, the Caribbean, and Central America. The success of the WBC has provided data to prove my opinion.
I went on my own solo trip to Japan back in December 2023. It was amazing and it was my first time going on a solo trip abroad. I was there for 10 days, and thanks to the Shinkansen, I visited both the Kansai and Kanto regions.
I think the parts where people were saying that we should research about the country first and go with the flow can apply for anywhere you go. That's what I did when I first traveled abroad by myself in Italy and it helped me a lot especially since I didn't know how to speak their language ( just some words). If I go to Japan I'd definitely do my research especially if I want to visit unique places. Great interview!
My personal advice for solo travel in Tokyo: there's a ton of cults roaming around, so be a little careful if an overly friendly English speaking Japanese person approach you. Also, don't go drinking alone. Especially at "snack" bars. I got scammed. Drugged me then called the cops and claimed I trespassed. I had to pay a few thousand dollars for them to drop the charges.
took a solo travel to another state last year to prep myself for an eventual solo travel to Japan, even more excited to go now after watching this video. thanks!
I want to go solo traveling in Japan again! I traveled solo to Japan last December 2019 for a week and I didn’t have any problem. Thank you for this video!
I just got back from my month long trip to Japan (first time) and I loved it! I also flew ZipAir from LA. Everything is so much cheaper than back home. I could eat around $20 a day most days and I split hotels so mine were generally $30-50 after split. I can't wait to come back again.
I did 2 weeks in Japan in February of this year, Tokyo and Kyoto. I am from the UK and have visited several European counties and Australia. Japan felt like the safest country I've ever visited. Not once did I see or hear any aggravation or antisocial behaviour. At no point did I feel unsafe or uneasy, including walking around some of the allegedly notorious areas in Tokyo. I'm a 40 year old guy but i remember seeing many women walking alone at night unbothered and at ease.
Yeah.Japanese people don't worry about that. Therefore, when we travel foreign country, our parents always say "Don't go out at night there."😂Because...aww you already knew this🤭
I pushed my friend to go to Japan solo. She doesn’t speak any Japanese or English and yet she managed to survive three times and spend time nicely, attended some gigs of our favorite musicians. Google translate rules! She isn’t good at entertaining herself and our way of traveling is different (like I would have experienced 10 times more than she did but it was her choice) but it’s absolutely safe and possible. It is the only foreign country she’s ever visited
I have had great times in japan ,i cant speak the language but we seem to communicate, with lots of laughter and mutual respect for each other , i am going solo for two months in 2025. Staying at Okinawa, Kyushu, , swimming ,fishing ,and forest bathing, lots of love to all ., the Aussie bloke

Really nice interviews. The guy who drew out a map of the train station for himself is pretty wise. The tattoo on one of the other interviewees looked so cool.
Good one! Very informative. Thank you. I would really like to live in rural Okinawa for a year, and too, I'm not sure where to begin or what kind of visa to get. I would not be working or studying, only residing for the year and enjoying. I would like to take photography and tour on my Honda Monkey bike. I would definitely be on a modest budget, so a little house for rent somewhere would be ideal. I'm not sure where to even begin looking for a place like that, or whether such thing exists at all at a cost I could afford, and too, I'd like to try to make it happen.
For Shinjuku station, it's not that difficult. It's just become more of a nuisance ever since the direct connection between Keio/Odakyu/JR has been abolished 2-3 years ago. Just remember: Odakyu line, Keio line is on the West Side. If you want the Keio New Line, take South exit. For Shopping and Kabukicho, it's East side; business and a couple of huge electronic stores as well as Keio/Odakyu department store on the West. If you come by Fukutoshin line on Sanchome station, you will arrive below Marui department store, but can get to Kabukicho easily by following the signs to ISETAN exit (a department store). Marunouchi line has 3 stations, Nishi- Shinjuku (west side), shinjuku (below east exit) and Sanchome (same as Fukutoshin line). The only difficult in my opinion is Oedo line. The Nishiguchi station actually connects to the passageway between East and West exit, so for East side use this. The Shinjuku one is on the South side, alongside the Keio New line station. It is also not advised to use Shinjuku line, as it is also below South exit.
As always, great video. Also, I agree with your sponsor Mobal. I had the data only sim twice now, and it worked great. Don't pick it up at the airport, takes almost 45min (I couldn't figure out why but the lady had to put something in to the computer..ask something her supervisor etc.) Mobal will send you the sim to your home. Very convenient.
I am actually doing a solo-travel to Japan next January and will be travelling to Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo. I'm very nervous but these videos are very helpful. Thank you!
I've solo travelled for two months from tokyo to kagoshima. Doesn't matter where i was. It was the most fun, safe and beautiful experience i have ever embarked on. Learn some japanese to make it even more worthful. Japanese people are so open to anyone especially if you can communicate. You make memories that will last a lifetime. 旅先で話したすべての素敵な人へ、 本当にありがとう ございました。感謝しています
I'm going to solo travel to Japan some day! I'm looking forward to it, I think I'll probably spend 2 weeks or maybe a month in Japan. It seems like such an interesting and unique place. I definitely want to learn more Japanese first so I can get the full experience though!
I just did 6 weeks in Japan solo and i never even thought of feeling unsafe. Japanese people are more beautiful, kind and good natured than they know. My 7th trip and I'll be back later this year.
I traveled solo in India and traveled to Japan with my son and both times I had to interact with locals a lot since I was the only adult and it's both intimidating and fantastic when you are pushed out of your comfort zone to speak with strangers all day long. I found people in Japan to be extremely helpful even if you don't speak Japanese. Google translate is a godsend and I had whole conversations with people using the app. I also said sumimasen a lot (which roughly translates to pardon me/excuse me) and that was enough to get me through every situation I found myself in. I would suggest getting out of the mindset of sightseeing and just enjoy walking around, the street life is so interesting. One of my favorite moments was seeing very young children, like 6 or 7 years old, walking home solo from school.
I've been to 69 different countries so far, mostly traveling alone. Japan was probably the safest one of them all. I can't even really come up with something that I would have to worry about in Japan that would'nt be worse somewhere else.
I'm Japanese, but I lived overseas half of my life. A group of Nigerians tried to scamm me and my friend in Harajuku once. At first they were kinda nice and we were talking in japanese, but when they started to insist too much I've started talking in english to them and straight up told 'em I was not goig to fall for their scam. Their faces were priceless.
What an awesome video! You did such a great job on this. I love your channel so much. ...I've had 2 two-week solo trips in Japan over last few years and can't wait to go back again 🇯🇵
Loved my solo visit to Tokyo and Kyoto Japan. I stayed for 12 days. The train system map looked more difficult than it really was. Figured it out after about day 3. Felt safe but encourage to be vigilant wherever you travel. My flight was pricey as I flew with Delta. Hotels were affordable in my opinion. Food was excellent. Stayed in Shinjuku but will not during my next visit. If you love action all night then stay there. I liked the Roppongi better for my taste. There was a tsunami warning when I was there but everyone carried on like normal.
Was in Tokyo for the 1st time with my Friend in October 2023, I was overwhelmed with all the Trains & Walking I just Followed my Friend I Felt Safe in Japan I live in America, California
Well, this boosted my confidence! I am travaling to Japan today and I am glad I heard other solo travelers input because I was getting cold feet for a moment. The only down part is, I started to slack off on my studies learning Japanese but I know some basic phrases and been practicing like crazy these past couple days with role play videos of ordering food, checking into my hotels (I did a lot of research with hotels since I have tattoos) well here is to a new adventure! *sad nosies because it is going to be a long flight thou! 😢😂*
I went to Japan solo as a woman, and the only sketchy thing was black guys standing around in places like Shinjuku who spoke English and constantly tried to talk to me. I don't know what they wanted, but I don't think it was something good. I think they wanted to scam me or worse.
The Africans in Shinjuku Kabukicho either want to sell you something (not good), or scam you to work in places (not so good). Imagine growing up seeing Africans like that in Shinjuku, Chinese like that in Ikebukuro, or Kurds like that in Saitama. Can you understand why we develop stereotypes and feel disgusted by certain people?
I have travelled alone in Japan extensively back around 2013-15. I can't recommend it enough. But I'd say stay away from cities - the best parts are elsewhere. Have a rough itinerary that give you some kind of direction, but then don't hesitate to change when you see another intriguing place or path. Getting lost in Japan gave me my best travel experiences.
Hiiiiiiiii I'm from Japan and 19years old. i like to travel around the world. I'm gonna travel around Europe 4 months later for 2months😊 If you meet any Japanese students, come to talk with them! Without me,Japanese traveler like to talk with foreigners❤ They are not shy, they're not good at speaking English😂So they're thinking maybe. And I'm the same!!! ↑i tried to write this sentence very fast like speaking. That is normal Japanese level🙃Maybe maybe maybe🤣 I'm looking forward to seeing you guys😎

I still aftaid of Tokyo bcause its a very big city with a complicated and confusing transportation... please make a video about the easiest way to go around in Tokyo. Thank you
Thank you for your videos! These videos come in handy because i'm going to japan for 2 months in July and august and it makes me learn a lot beforehand. So thank you!
I travel all over the world for a living and I have to agree with most of the people in this video. Japan is the best country in the world. I love the culture, the people, the food, etc., etc. I've only traveled to Japan for business, but I've had enough free time to over the years to check a lot of things out. I'm especially fond of Japanese baseball and already have a ticket for a Tokyo Giants vs Yokohama Bay Stars game on 7 September at the Tokyo dome.
I’ve been to Japan twice solo at 2 weeks each. I have walked around Tokyo and other cities all hours and even at like 11PM and have never felt in danger. Things are so safe in Japan I feel fine walking anywhere at all hours with zero hesitation. I’m from L.A., much more dangerous especially at night. No one should be worried in Japan.
Thank you Takashi for your videos. It really helps me. I am a Swede and me and my friend are going to Japan for the first time in May, for 3 weeks. We thought May was a good month to travel there but did not realized that 黄金週間 existed. We found out by watching your video with Quinlan (GoNorthJapan)😂We need to book hotel really soon.
I want to go because the ability to just jump on a train and go anywhere sounds amazing. Wish we had that in the states. We need better public transportation.
Takashii-kun, I complement you in your use of English idioms in your advertisement: it's a breeze, it's a piece of cake. Brother, you've been studying 📚. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I'm a language teacher 👨🏻🏫. 🇺🇸🤝🇯🇵
I am a woman who has been doing solo traveling to Japan for 20+ years having visited from Okinawa to Hokkaido and I’d say most of the time it’s very safe but it’s best to possess a little bit of Japanese understanding cos in some urgent circumstances the knowledge would be handy and yes using google translate is helpful if your Japanese isn’t fluent enough but most importantly follow their rules and be aware of drunken men cos they can be very aggressive and also do not expect Japanese to be very proactively helpful. One more tip, always have a back up travel route/plan in case the main one has broken down/delayed/ for whatever reason cos they are very common especially if your trip involves a lot of traveling…
I've always wanted to solo travel, but admittedly being black and a woman I've been nervous. Its barely safe to travel around US alone 😅. This is encouraging though. I'll be coming with my kid though when I do finally make it. Saving up now and studying ❤
Been to Kabukicho and Nishinari which are some of the most controversial areas in Japan. Never felt unsafe for a moment, just had to tell the pesky black touts off. Surprised to hear people say the transit system is confusing. It is the most organized train system I have ever seen and very easy to navigate with Google Maps.
As I’m sure you already knew, Kabukicho is the most famous red light district in Tokyo. The touts can spot what you’re looking for, can’t really criticise them for bugging you cos why else would you be in Kabukicho at night?
YOUR COST TO MY COUNTRY AS INDONESIA WAS "SAFETY AND FREE TO SAY NEGATIFE IN THAT COUNTRY" WE REALLY SAME ABOUT "FREELY TO SAY NEGATIVE JAPANESE COUNTRY INSIDE" THATS THE MOST I WANT TO SEE ON THIS CHANNEL...SO YA...IM AS INDONESIA WAS "KAKUGO WA DEKITA" FOR TRAVEL AND BEING PERMANENT PEPOPLE IN JAPAN🎉
Many thanks for this new information. I'm excited about arriving 1st March for a month and love Japan so much. No were is safe in the world today sadly, but so long as your careful and aware of the risks, as we all are today due to the multitude of scams and an increase in violence in every country, then you should be safe. UK born, in my opinion japan is my most favourite country in the world, the cleanest and most friendly. Beautiful architecture, Beautiful people and Beautiful rich history. I've made friends and this is my 4th return. I will holiday no where else now.
> Is Japan Really Safe For Solo Travelers? Yes If you go to Japan, you will find children as young as 7 years old riding the train alone to school, and children playing without their parents in the park until night. If you don't go to Kabukicho or Nishinari, you won't get into trouble.

Solo travelling in Japan is very easy and safe, I stayed for 3 months this past fall. Although my Japanese is intermediate level
Great video! I also enjoyed visiting Tokyo as a solo traveler! Very doable and enjoyable!!
Go takashi! I love seeing Australians in the videos
Thanks for a variety of nationalities at once space. ❤3rd weekend of February.
旅先で話したすべての素敵な人へ、
本当にありがとう ございました。感謝しています
I'm going to solo travel to Japan some day! I'm looking forward to it, I think I'll probably spend 2 weeks or maybe a month in Japan. It seems like such an interesting and unique place. I definitely want to learn more Japanese first so I can get the full experience though!
Ohhhhhhhh
Thanks from Japan❤
I'm grad a fact you said you wanna learn Japanese☺️
Where are you from?
14 weeks and counting . CAN'T WAIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
another great video Takashii!
That young lady makes a great point. Don’t get complacent in other parts of the world traveling solo just because you felt so safe in Japan.
Exactly, just travel in Japan. (I don't ever see myself solo traveling anywhere else.)
I solo traveled Japan for a month, it's very safe! (I'm an Italian girl)
Any recommendations?
Be polite, respectful and enjoy your trip!
Where did you stay and how much was your hotel/room?@@Laura-iw6sx
I'm Japanese, but I lived overseas half of my life. A group of Nigerians tried to scamm me and my friend in Harajuku once. At first they were kinda nice and we were talking in japanese, but when they started to insist too much I've started talking in english to them and straight up told 'em I was not goig to fall for their scam.
Their faces were priceless.
Seriously, wrh are these people doing? Nigerians are already famous for being scammers they are tainting the reputation even more
i personally believe that Japan was the safest (and most crime free) country i've ever traveled to. and i've traveled a good deal.
I'm coming to Japan aswell, from june to july 🤙🌸
Was in Tokyo for the 1st time with my Friend in October 2023, I was overwhelmed with all the Trains & Walking
I just Followed my Friend
I Felt Safe in Japan
I live in America, California
Well, this boosted my confidence! I am travaling to Japan today and I am glad I heard other solo travelers input because I was getting cold feet for a moment. The only down part is, I started to slack off on my studies learning Japanese but I know some basic phrases and been practicing like crazy these past couple days with role play videos of ordering food, checking into my hotels (I did a lot of research with hotels since I have tattoos) well here is to a new adventure! *sad nosies because it is going to be a long flight thou! 😢😂*
How your solo travel going so far?
Thank you for including the woman who was assulted, its very important to keep this in mind.
Hiiiiiiiii
I'm from Japan and 19years old.
i like to travel around the world.
I'm gonna travel around Europe 4 months later for 2months😊
If you meet any Japanese students, come to talk with them!
Without me,Japanese traveler like to talk with foreigners❤
They are not shy, they're not good at speaking English😂So they're thinking maybe. And I'm the same!!!
↑i tried to write this sentence very fast like speaking. That is normal Japanese level🙃Maybe maybe maybe🤣
I'm looking forward to seeing you guys😎
Many people have said that Japan is safe for solo traveling. I definitely want to solo travel to Japan. 🤗
Pulling us closer to Japan one video at a time!
I love your video.
I am from Indonesia. I was in Nagoya, Kyoto and Osaka in 2019 with my friends, and i will back on January 2025 with kids to Osaka and Kyoto and I will come to Tokyo this time...
I solo traveled to Tokyo last year and I will do it again this year.
Traveling solo in Japan is definitely way safer than in the US that’s for sure! You don’t have to worry about a potential mass shooting.
Nah 😂
クマ🐻に間違えられて撃たれる以外に、一般人が銃撃される恐れはほとんどありません!😅
What a wonderful video! Thank you Takashi! 🇮🇹
That was excellent!!!
I've always wanted to solo travel, but admittedly being black and a woman I've been nervous. Its barely safe to travel around US alone 😅. This is encouraging though. I'll be coming with my kid though when I do finally make it. Saving up now and studying ❤
Went to Tokyo by myself last November...felt safer there than at home 😆
Hi Takashii. Saw the video in UA-cam TV. Love the video. Excellent😊👍🏻🇯🇵. All people you interviewed love 🇯🇵😊
Thank you, Takashi. I enjoyed this video!👍🏼
She’s Persian but traveling from LA, she sounded very American!
Persian = Iranian
Thank you Takashii for another fantastic video!!!
Overall, it sounds like Japan is a wonderful place to go. I am a little surprised no one mentioned staying in a capsule hotel.
I love your topics and interviews. I've learned so much ❤
12:46 I see what he's trying to do 😄 Ryuguji Ken
> Is Japan Really Safe For Solo Travelers?
Yes
If you go to Japan, you will find children as young as 7 years old riding the train alone to school, and children playing without their parents in the park until night. If you don't go to Kabukicho or Nishinari, you won't get into trouble.
This is so useful! Thanks again for another one of your amazing videos 👏
it was a blast! i felt like i was at home
