I think it came out beautiful! And most importantly you didn’t give up and saved it from the landfill.
@@shawndelaney9311 Thanks! And I agree, another one saved.
Although it’s not the color you imagined, that gray is very popular and I think it’s gonna sell an appeal to a lot of people. We’re currently househunting and so many homes have gone to the Gray tones. Congratulations, great job and you overcame some big obstacles.!
Thank you for the encouraging message! Good luck on the house hunt. ☺️
Beautiful! Modern! Fresh! Elegant! The wood grain on this dresser is gorgeous! I like the bleached look, your original idea. It doesn't look too grey but I would have preferred a bit more beige wash. The handles you chose are amazing! Thanks so much for sharing
Thank you so much for your kind comment. Glad you liked it! ☺️
don't worry it looks fantastic you did a great job just remember they always say trying is half the battle it is absolutely beautiful
Thank you! And you’re right, I’m glad I tried. 😊
Wow, it’s gorgeous! The final color is spot on.
Awww thank you! Your words are encouraging. ☺️
Just beautiful and no one will know it’s not the shade you had in mind. I am sure it will be loved and well soon
@@SusieMonk-jh8tj Thank you! It sold and the new owner loved it!
I’m glad you were able to switch gears. It did turn out beautiful! That being said, I would really have liked to see the beautiful wood grain. I’m a big fan of using Odies oil to bring out that luster. I think it would have worked after you bleached it. You can still see a bit of it with the paint wash & I think that adds the right touch of character! The hardware was a perfect addition! Great job! 🦋
@@tristavalentour7575 Thank you! One day in the near future I’ll try Odies oil. When you’ve used a product that you trust it will protect your piece for a long time it’s hard to switch gears but I’ve heard great things about it so I’m sure I’ll try it sometime.
It looks fantastic! I’m glad to see that I’m not alone in feeling it’s two steps forward and one step back sometimes in this craft.
You’re definitely not alone!! ☺️
Thank you for sharing your process and talking about the problems you ran into and how you decided to resolve them.
Of course! I’m all about sharing the reality of refinishing. Many times is not straightforward.
It’s very nice. I like the color. I think maybe by removing the bottom apron and adding some legs, it would have modernized it even more.
Great idea!
It turned out really well, even if it wasn't your original vision. The adjustable hardware was an excellent choice. I have heard the bolt cutters work well on shortening the screws, but that tool looks more manageable.
@@heidisettles5537 Thanks! Those adjustable pulls have save me again and again, and yes, that screw cutter makes it super easy to cut screws.
I thought my garage was bad!😊😊😊
😆😆😆😆It was awful!! But it’s looking so much better now, we’ve donated tons of stuff. Thanks goodness because it was stressing me out.
It had such pretty red color.
@@user-mf6wg9wo3y Thank you!
I think it is gorgeous! Very updated and beautiful!
Thank you! 😊
I love the color! My daughter has a dresser very similar that is blond. I might talk her into letting me redo it like this! Thx!
I hope she says yes!! ☺️
It really looks good! Such an amazing change. Looks like it was worth the work. Thanks for the sanding, shellac, and drawer pull hardware tips 😀
You bet! And thank you.
Beautiful! Right call on everything you chose to do.
Thank you!!!☺️
You did alot of hard work but it looks great ❤
Well, thank you!☺️
I think you did a good job, sometimes what we imagine doesnt transpire but that doesnt mean its not a great job!
@@jewels7291 Thank you!
Looks great…a griege if you will…very popular and neutral. Should sell fast especially since you updated it with those modern drawer pulls.
Thank you for the encouragement!! ☺️
The marks on top are both water marks, not burn mark, you can't bleach a burn marks. The lighter mark is water in the finish, the dark mark is water that went through the finish into the wood 😊
It turned out gorgeous 😍
It definitely looked burnt “with a scratched up looked” around the ring mark. But, I could be wrong. And yes, I wasn’t expecting the bleach to completely remove it, as the marks from a burn are not stain, but the bleach helped enough so I didn’t need to use heat to get rid of them. Thank you!
Looks beautiful now!
Thank you!!
I really like what you’ve done, especially the color!😊
@@penelopeshaffer5143 Thank you!
Looks good! Although I will say after the bleach you could have just clear coated it at that point. The grain was so pretty! It’s a bit hard to see after the washes.
I agree that after the color wash and the stain the wood grain was covered more than I’d have liked. Not sure I would’ve left the redness as it was though, but yes, it was beautiful.
So elegant!
Thank you!! ☺️
The end result is really pretty! 😍
I've had the same problem with that shellac in the can. It's because it has wax in it. The spray shellac doesn't have wax. There's a shellac sanding sealer in a red can that has been dewaxed, but it can be hard to find. I've only found it on Amazon. Same brand.
@@BetziBateman I used the wax free one, it’s just a little bit of an issue when it’s brushed. Next time I’ll just run to the store to get a can. ☺️
@@aliferefurbished Oh, maybe I didn't get a good look at the can!
This dresser looks amazing! The hardware is so well integrated into the design and the color is beautiful! Thank you for sharing the entire journey!
Absolutely! And thank you for taking the time to write a comment 🙂
Love it, beautiful save, excellent work.

Goodjob

Thank you!
🥰Me encanta el resultado!
Thank you!
You did a wonderful job, but I guess I’m old school. The grain doesn’t show as much and I think it had a beautiful grain.
Oh I agree with you, that’s the part I was disappointed with. But, unfortunately I had to apply a round of stain I wasn’t planning to apply.
Beautiful! I don’t see a link to the screw cutting tool. Can you please share it?
I forgot! But yes I’ll send it shortly
Here it is! amzn.to/45NX00e

Unfortunately that oil polyurethane will yellow 😐over time , but I like your video
@@urbanistic5 I’m counting on it, it won’t be a big deal, not with this finish.
