How’s the ventilation on them? Are they worth it?
@@derwinsanchez9243 They are quite good, with the weather we have in Switzerland these days (cold and wet) I do not need a pinlock, just leaving the visor slightly open and it is all good. In sunny days, you can close the visor and it does not get too hot in there, it is quite comfy. Note that I let the chin flap on. These are quite light also at 1200G and, in my opinion, are great value for money, the added tinted visor is also a nice bonus (but you have to know they are not fully tinted, you can tottaly ride under a cloudy rain day and you will see clearly with it, so you can choose tinted or clear + sunglasses as both visor are included)
This looks nice but the similarities in style to a simpson helmet and the lack of features makes this a no for me.
I’m Comparing it to my scorpion EXO hx1 SE (euro version), the non SE (special edition) euro version both come with a drop down sunvisor, are pinlock ready, and use a micro ratchet strap. All of which are must haves imo and are close in price to this new EXO covert FX helmet, plus the HX1 has its own unique look.
Idk why they don’t give all the (imo) must have features to the American version of the EXO HX1 , or why there is even 2 versions at all, especially considering both the euro and American versions cost the same for the buyer. I mean having one version I’d imagine would be cost savings for scorpion as well so I just don’t get it 🤷♂️.
I had to order from over seas but it only took like a week and is way better than my American version of the EXO HX1 helmet.
So anyone looking at this helmet I’d say get a euro version of the EXO HX1 (SE or non SE) for like $50 more but that’s just my 2¢. ✌️

In regards to internal sunshade and quick release chin strap - both features are highly polarizing and come with safety compromises. While every rider will accept certain trade offs when helmet shopping we can report that the Cover FX has been Scorpion's most successful helmet launch in history and feedback has been excellent. @@SpeedAddictsTV never have gotten a warranty replacement for any helmet I’ve ever bought but the retailer I bought my euro EXO hx1 from has been great about getting me replacement (matching) liner/ cheek pads. The chin curtain is a weak point on both the euro and US version.
As far as polarizing safety features both the micro ratchet chin strap and drop down sunshade are used on much bigger and or safer helmet brands in the US. The micro ratchet chin strap has been proven to be just as secure/ safe as the classic D ring system. The drop down sun shade I don’t know it’s safety comparison to helmets without but in the event of a face/ forehead impact I could imagine the non sunshade version fairing a bit better.
However both the US and euro versions have the same safety rating ECE 22.05 so if either the sunshade or ratchet strap were compromises or “trade offs” then how do/did they receive the same safety rating?
I’m not trying to be argumentative. I’m just saying that doesn’t add up, logically. The not covered by warranty part I understand but the rest not so much. I mean I know some ppl have their preference between the chin strap style (I hate both the d ring and fidlock system/ style but I know both when secured properly will both do their jobs).
@@freezecycle7776 there's building to a bar set by a government and there's the real world. While these features can pass the bar, it's well known in the industry that they are a compromise. There's a reason Arai will never product a helmet with either of these features. We will admit the odds of a given rider being impacted by such a compromise are potentially very low.
How good is their anti fog treatment, is it different from other models? The last Scorpion helmet I've purchased is the T520, advertised to be anti-fog treated, but it still heavily fogged up. I contacted their customer service, sent me a pinlock shield with pinlock. excellent customer service.
The fog treatments work well for most folks, but in more extreme conditions pinlock is king. Pinlock shields will be coming for the cover fx later this year.
I noticed this, my icons would never fog, my scorpion r1 get foggy fast.
@@lowlife189 I hope Scorpion made improvements in that area. I’ve had cheaper LS2s in the past that never fogged up on me. They probably know that issue, same reason why they gave me new shield and pinlock at no cost, no questions asked.

I can't decide what to get and i don't wanna make another mistake.
I've been looking at the covert fx, AGV K1 S or k6 S and the scorpion R420.
Can't blame you there. So you've got some solid picks. Of course the AGV K6 S is the winner there, but a huge price bump compared to the other. If you'd like to stay closer to the $200-$300 we'd recommend the Covert FX. It's a great lid and when you factor in the extra shield and ECE 22.06 at this price point a very tough offer to beat.
I got lucky and bought the original Scorpion EXO for $5 in awesome condition. It is kind of heavy but for $5 who cares. I have some wind, but I think it is coming from the visor connection to the helmet up in the top corners. I can still hear the radio fine, but if the wind noise would simmer down, that'd be great. Does this have any reviews yet from riders; I personally think this helmet looks like a cross between a stormtrooper and a dirt bike helmet. I like my O.G. look much better. The inside makes me feel claustrophobic just by looking at it.

How do these fit in comparison to the simpson ghost bandit? Im measured at a size medium (58cm) but fit a small in the ghost bandit and also in the Biltwell Lanesplitter. Weird i know but cant try this on since I'm in Australia

how is the noise/ wind factor on this helmet i bought a ruroc recently and have hated how loud it is even though the halmet i had before was modular and somehow not as loud

We'd recommend something from Cardo. Which unit will depend on your requirements. High end pick would be the Cardo Packtalk Neo - www.speedaddicts.com/motorcycle/cardo-packtalk-neo-bluetooth-headset-single , if you don't need mesh or voice commands than the best bang for the buck is the Cardo Spirit HD www.speedaddicts.com/motorcycle/cardo-spirit-hd-bluetooh-headset-single of course we have detailed videos for each so take a look and you can go wrong.
I found this helmet had a really uncomfortable fit. Tried different-sized cheek pads and compressing the original pads and it was still painfully uncomfortable. I'm stuck with a helmet I'm not going to wear. :( Can't recommend it.
That's a bummer. If you tried the helmet with us we could have offered no cost returns.
How is the wind noise with a speaker/comm system? Currently running the Covert X with the Sena 50s by Harley Davidson and I can’t ever hear my music and my ears end up killing me after a ride from the amount of wind noise I get. I am hoping this is way quieter in that regard. Please let me know before I buy it! Thanks !
The Covert FX will be significantly quieter than a Cover X. The X is essentially a 3 quarter helmet with a muzzle and drop down visor. You should consider it a completely different animal than the new Covert FX which is a traditional full face helmet. So yes, count on much less wind noise and no issues enjoying your tunes.

Both are great options. Really up to preference. Style wise they are very different.
Are there integrated sunglasses in this helmet?
Hey Levin, this one does not have a drop down sunshield, but they do throw in a free dark smoke shield with every helmet. -Schad

I don’t understand this company’s making different wisers clear/dark . Why don’t you make transitional auto clear/dark . I don’t like carrying shitt with me and I’m sure there is lots of people like me out there who don’t like to carry bag packs while riding
Hey Enzi - We feel you on the transition face shields. They're amazing, but crazy expensive. No matter who manufactures them the retail price ends up near or above $200. That's a tough add on sale for a $249 helmet. But we'll pass this along to Scorpion EXO for comment. Thanks for watching!
For this reason alone I’ve only had bell helmets with transition shields for the last 9 years. Spoiled now I can’t go back
Transition visors are useless when riding into the sun, they don’t get dark enough. Flip down sunshades aka flip down sun visors are better for that but also aren’t always dark enough but usually are more times than not. A transition visor is never dark enough for riding into the sun though.

Will the helmet stay open partway at speed without detents?
I just bought this helmet today, I had the same question. So far, yes. The visor has a tension to it when opening/closing which I really liked as I demo’d it in store. This adds to the “feel” of the build quality when detent-ing. It’s still early, but impressed so far. My Simpson mod bandit flys open at low to mid detente on freeway. Drives me nuts, especially considering much pricier helmet.

The T520 is a great option!
How is yours with wind noise and buffeting. I ordered it right when it came out and it was so loud and was terrible on the highway with head checks. I ended up getting a cheap bell qualifier and it's an upgrade imo.
How quiet is this helmet?
Hey Robb, it is definitely quieter than other helmets (Broozer, Covert X, street drak) you're looking at high 90 decibels around 80mph

@@d8thwonder it runs a size bigger from what I felt. It was loose on my head so I would say go a size down. The visor does have distorsion and I think is because of the antifog coating
