I love how Jimmy and Robert behave together. There’s a mutual respect that just comes through how they defer to each other. Jimmy is more quiet of course, and Robert is very fast and witty. But it’s a very comfortable interplay that’s lovely to watch.
I was born in 1958 and I‘ve been rocking to Led Zeppelin since I was about 10 or 12 years old. Their music is ingrained in every fiber of my being. Long live Led Zeppelin!!! I have loved Robert Plant all my life. I guess I had better hush now. Keep on rockin’ in the free world!!!
Saw them in Phoenix in 98, they were the best show ever... thought the roof was going to come off and we'd find ourselves floating through space,.. Jimmy rocked and was freaking awesomely LOUD !! 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
I'm so jealous of that guy. I would be completely speechless if I got the chance to ask them questions though. So he did a great job, and both Robert and Jimmy weren't arseholes like some people, they seemed to be really interested in his questions. Great job that man.
I love this interview, but most of all, they are amazing, proper legends, they are just as entertaining in an interview as they are on stage...keep it up, thanks for posting this.
I remember watching this and recording this at the time. I went to see them in Dublin the following month. They were amazing. I was front row left. Jimmy looked like he wanted to play all night. He was a ball of energy. If my memory serves me right they opened the show (T.F.I. Friday) with Rock and Roll and then went on to do 'Most High" right after the interview. Was amazing too.
This was marvelous to watch, thanks for posting. It's so nice to see them - especially Page, who is never comfortable with interviews - so chilled out. And I love how engaged they are with Steve!
I remember watching this live on tv at home. Was such a great time to be young (I was only 23 then, but a huge fan of Hard Rock/Blues music) and it was very interesting watching legends such as RP & JP reinvent themselves. They were outstanding as guests and as live performers on this episode of TFI Friday (their live rendition of 'Rock and Roll' was just sensational). I saw them live in concert during the Walking Into Clarkesdale tour a few months later and it was excellent. Really talented musicians. Hope these two legends live for many more years to come. God bless 'em!
Wow! Here it is 2020 & this pops up in my feed🌟 After the way this year been going I treasure this clip even more.. Loved them together throughout the ‘90’s❣️💫🌹
Inbliss13: Could not agree more -- you are so right in noting how genuinely nice Jimmy and Robert are. Funny, isn't it ... that the two men have such disparate personalities: Jimmy is funny but in a more reserved, deadpan manner, and Robert is such an outgoing hot ticket -- what a fantastic sense of humor he has! I love them both!
Such fun! Such genuinely nice men! I met Robert Plant years ago at an airport by chance he is such a nice person extremely appealing. Jimmy hope to meet you next! Keep smiling as always
This was shown on Channel 4 UK on Friday 3rd April 1998 two days before Wolverhampton Wanderers FA Cup Semi-Final versus Arsenal, which would explain why Robert Plant was wearing the Wolves scarf.
Both still sexy as hell in 2020.If they would only get with John Paul Jones and do another concert NOW oh my lord it would sell out and they would have to do a show for a few days ...BEST BAND TO EVER HANDS DOWN ✌
Shy? Have you ever seen the man work a stage? He's not shy at all. He's just private about his thoughts, beliefs, and politics...that's a true artist. He's all about the music and nothing else matters.
Credit to Robert and Jimmy. They acted really cool despite the terrible and at times rude questions. Free advice for the interviewer. Don't call your guests "old". Not even once much less several times.
Very interesting. They did release their spectacular double DVD live collection in 2003, and I played both discs so much that I had to buy another copy!
dude ... HELL YEAH! ... c'mon boyz ... release the massive compilation of live LZ ... WE SO WANT IT! ... give your fans a WHOLE LOTTA LOVE!!! ... we want to see ALL (the vids) you are hoarding ... PLEASE ... and.... if it isn't asking too much ... COULD YOU PLEASE TOUR AGAIN? ... PLEASE, OH PLEASE, OH PLEASE?????
I think it's more about not being seen as a Zeppelin project when they deal JPJ out...they just want to do music without being saddled with the Zeppelin legend to live up to. JPJ is a tremendous talent and they have never disrespected that in any way that I've ever heard. When they're ready to do a Zep reunion, JPJ will be there just like at O2.
I went to that concert back then, and it was amazing Iv'e never heard anything like it, it almost sounded fake it was so damn good. they ended with the wanton song for the encore WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
@adamszoo LOL!! I wish I could have lived in the 70s. Maybe with the help of some very intelligent people, we can build a time machine and go there! Rock on
wow they seem so down to earth 4 massive rock stars...i always find it funny wen i see robert at the moleniux (wolves ground) nd he jst sits with the rest of the fans...gd times :p
What a cool interview and very down to earth. Too many American celebrities act like prima donnas even though they haven't a fraction of the talent as these two.
KarmicOmen: Perhaps the genuine 'karma' the four of them had, or have is obviously the main ingrediant to create perfect music. It is natural they are spirits that just ' know' what is... you know what I mean? It's hard to put into words, but perhaps the best word is perfection!!Thanks for sharing your comment :)
for the record (no pun intended) they did not write "In My Time of Dying." It's an old blues song and Bob Dylan recorded it also before they did. having said that... I adore them.
Yes, you're right about the Roman numerals. Anyway as you said, Plant and Bonham were new kids on the block in the music industry and I think Robert might have felt unnerved about it as he seems to be when asked about Led Zeppelin's earlier years. The Presence album cover was supposed to be a play on images instead of words. I've since forgotten what they all mean (as I've done with the zoso sign and the runes) Anyway they've left behind good music and that's the important part.
I love Robert Page he's my favorite... hahaha hahaha just kidding...they do get along well....for interviewing....good repore Robert is the voice of Zep...and Jimmy smart to know he is talkative type and Robert waits and gives him time good pros relationship... friends too I'll bet...real

To be Robert Plant and still be so sweet and almost shy. What an amazing human being ❤️
@loyaltyoptimismversatilityerud He said Plant is shy not Page
Plant is well, Plant ?!😉
Plant isn't shy at all. What he is though, is quite humble and unassuming.
Jimmy is just so cool , so awsome a musician and even at his age today, 67, he is still a hottie.
he wasn't 67 at the time of this interview.
Robert is so charming & witty& fast!!! As usual, hope he reads this......love to you from Canada
Page and Plant belong together ! They have the ultimate chemistry
on stage !
thank god Jimmy spent his childhood playing the guitar
I love seeing Jimmy relaxed and in a good mood.
Must have been on the drink 😂

Love how they don't try to out do each other. Genuine friends with respect for each other
"Old men do it better. They're not so sensitive in certain areas."
Oh. my. goodness. ROBERT.
It's true...!
Which areas? I've never been with an "old" man.
Marsh Wetland the usual areas. 😉
In their 40’s ?? Old?
These guys set the measure....no one has raised it yet
Saw them in Phoenix in 98, they were the best show ever... thought the roof was going to come off and we'd find ourselves floating through space,.. Jimmy rocked and was freaking awesomely LOUD !! 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Oh how I wish I could have been there!
I saw them in Pittsburgh in 98. I agree, best concert I had ever seen!
Jimmy... your smile warms my heart ❤️

Gorgeous Robert!
Epic
Bald I.
The bald man don't sound nervous.
The album is a more complete piece of work.
Jimmy dyes his hair.
They're beautiful 💖

Another reason to love Page, he doesn't watch sports he plays guitar.
I love Led Zeppelin(Percy,Led Wallet , Bonzo, Jonesy) more than anything I'll ever love♡♡♡♡♡♡♡. They're my whole life!!!!
Do what thou wilt. ZOSO sounds better.

Thank you for posting :)
Chris Evens fangirling like a bastard. I love you Led Zeppelin
Thanks for the great clip!

Very nicely put!
If I saw Robert Plant ( even now 2020), I'd pass out😲😲😲
plant has a really charming smile when he is relaxed and seemingly enjoying himself.
thanks for uploading this!
I saw them in 98 they are playing better than they ever did not so sure about that but maybe more sober than they ever did
Great interview,,,
enjoyed the comedy!!!
Class act the two fellas..
Best band ever...anlongside Queen...my thoughts
I'm sorry but they are in a different league to the likes of Queen.
queen were a joke bro

Legends in the flesh
Great Guy's.
Never met them in person, but saw them play quite a bit.
I remember seeing this years ago. What a fun, silly interview. Probably the best of the interviews from the Page/Plant era.
awesome..thanks
Poor old Chris, the day he met those two legends had to be the day he was wearing a ridiculous hat.
thanx for posting!
Many many thanks for posting.... kisses :)

É muito bom vê-los juntos!
'When I go to sleep' Haha this interview is PRICELESS!
i would have loved getting a hug from them
I LUV Jimmy!
Great interview and cute.
nothing tops the jimmy page robert plant 1995 1998 performances i went twice in 1995 boston twice in 1998 boston new york i still miss them
I absolutely agree. Both were just amazing. Jimmy just mesmerizing. Once he gets going? You can’t take your eyes off him.
Nice post, I remember watching this live on tv.
Credit to Robert and Jimmy. They acted really cool despite the terrible and at times rude questions. Free advice for the interviewer. Don't call your guests "old". Not even once much less several times.

That is so sweet :)
Glad they followed through with his question by releasing How the West Was Won.
Those guys are so cool, because they are so down to earth and have great senses of humour.

the track they walk into (ocean colour scene) reminds me of 4 sticks

sorry not got the music after the show....i think they played rock and roll though. Im sure somebody at there must have it!!
my frickin' heroes.
WHAT DO THEY SAY WHEN THEY SEE ROBERT GOING TO THE MATCH!?!
Thanks. One needs to know what is and what will never be?
Happy new year.
I thought I saw a version of this interview in which Robert said "I loved all my wives!", but it's not in this clip. Did I imagine it?
What a cool interview and very down to earth. Too many American celebrities act like prima donnas even though they haven't a fraction of the talent as these two.
Rumor has it that 'Whole Lotta Love' was initially titled "Me Luv You Long Time".
Dunno if its true or not ....
I didn't know Jackie Chan was in Led Zep?
Shame on u
