IMPORTANT!!!!!!!
If you want to pick one of these up, make sure it says it’s wired and says “enhanced” so that this works.
Tbh it's only a matter of time before someone makes a mod for the pro controller that adds like a "hexagonal gate" or something made for soft drifting without the weird calibration stuff
@@couch_enthusiast8915 I hope someone makes that!
Or you could just make custom notches for perfect soft drift angle
I REFUSE to believe you only have 100 subs. Crazy underrated dude and awesome video!
I’m gonna pick this controller up soon and test it out since I’m a person who isn’t a big fan of motion glider and… gc controllers are out my budget 😅
@@WebboMK that’s sick man! Hope it goes well! Feel free to comment again if you have any questions about it!
You need more subs! This is the first video I’m watching of you and it seems like the kind of video that would release from someone with a lot more subs.
Judging from your views though, I bet your channel will blow up soon. I did subscribe btw!
@@V1Salvo thanks man! 🐐
had to check below rq to make sure this wasnt an ad you had me for a sec there
@@TheyCallMeReo420 nah 💀
This video was really good. Thanks? But I think I will stay with the GC controller, because back when I used a pro controller, I was trying to soft drift online and it sometimes didn't work. Suddently I switched to the GC one and improved my results.
Thanks man! When it which of these controllers is objectively better it's really just the nitty gritties and I think people should 100% use whatever feels better for them. I probably should have said that in the video 😅
So why did you put that shortcat was wrong in the title@@Gnawy
@@Razorcat1904 well cause what I said is slightly different than what shortcat said so it’s not quite “click bait” but it does entice people to click on it and when you’re titling a video that’s what you want to do. Lying for that is never good and being a little dramatic is okay!
@@Gnawy oh alright I gotchu
PLZ make a tuto on glide vectoring with those back buttons... Ty
Do you just press both everytime? Because it doesn't work well for me.
I have the left back on dpad left and right back on dpad right. For exemple on the Mario Kart circuit I can't do it with the back buttons but I can with the dPad 😔
If you want to do motion glider with those buttons you’ll want your back right button to be on dpad UP and your back left on dpad left. Then you hold both buttons. Make sure motion controls are turned ON in Mario kart and make sure your controller is wired or doesn’t have a motion sensor in it.
@@Gnawy Yeah I'm exactly on that setup, it's fine with horizontal left and right but I can't motion glide on bottom direction somehow (only with dpad down)
@@vcool19 I don’t think you’re supposed to be able to motion glide down lol
@@Gnawy Ha fair so just release both buttons when wanting to press down I see 😅 thanks!
I actually have one of these on the shelves (I have too many random controllers around, don't ask me why), good to know :)
so what do you press to motion glide right?
also does it have to be a wired controller?
@@D4W53YI press both programmable buttons on the back at the same time (they’re mapped to d-pad up and d-pad left) and yes it has to be wired or at least not have a motion sensor. Some wireless controllers can run in wired mode so if you have a wireless controller try to un-sync it and then plug it into your switch dock through the controllers charging port. If that doesn’t work, you’ll need a wired one to pull this off.
Uh I have this controller and can't glide vector to the right when pressing both buttonS
OK turns out you have to map the left back button to dpad left and right back button to dpad up. Otherwise it won't work lol
To be honest, I don't think motion glider saves that much time on an online race knowing that you are replacing shake to trick. Shake to trick is really important and you are replacing it with motion glider that also saves time in an online race. Also I think the notches doesn't feel good in my opinion compared to the pro controller stick (and I know what I'm talking about since I have 2 GameCube controllers). The pro controller feels so much better in my hands in my opinion, so it is not worth the change.
@@soykiokin tbh I do like the smoother stick feeling of the pro controller (and the spectra) but here’s the thing: shake tricking only actually saves time in a handful of spots. Most tricks are on ramps which can be done with the R button. There are gliders in a ton of tracks and with motion glider you’re pretty much going faster than everyone else on a glider. It’s not a huge difference so if you prefer the pro controller you’ll prolly play better with it than you would the spectra on GC controller.
@@Gnawy For sure there are more gliders than inconsistent trick spots, but replacing the amazing feeling of the pro controller and being able to shake trick to be able to do save a little bit more time doing glider vectoring with motion glider isn't a good trade for me (also I should mention that you can still do glider vectoring without motion controls, the only difference is that you can do motion glider while doing glider vectoring)
@@soykiokin it’s kinda that same for shake tricking. You can still trick on inconsistent trick ramps but you just won’t get as many. You can glider vector but just not to the same degree. It’s just a matter of preference at this point tbh. The comfort (at least in my opinion) is very good on the spectra. I haven’t used a GameCube controller is years so I don’t really remember the comfort but they don’t look very comfortable.
@@Gnawy Yeah you have a point there, it is technically better if you can get used to it as you can do motion glider and you are also able to do inconsistent tricks if you practice enough, it is such a small difference that I wouldn't even care. Also the GameCube controller is really comfy... for GameCube games, not for Mario kart... Just the fact that you have to press all the way down the trigger just to use an item is annoying and the notches make really specific drift angles way harder to do.
Man, your doing a great job at making videos
Thanks Elijah!
Bro, cual es el mejor combo de Mario kart 8 deluxe actualmente y cual recomiendas?
I recommend using Yoshi on the teddy buggy with roller wheels with the paper glider as that’s what is objectively the best combo. I personally like using that setup but swap the teddy buggy for either Mr scooty or the biddy buggy. That will help you charge mini turbos faster that Yoshi on the teddy buggy. Either of these combos are really good though. I did a full video on this subject if you want to learn more. Hope this helps! 🐐
@@Gnawy hello brother, which do you think is the best combo, the yoshi teddy buggy or the yoshi pipe frame, I ask, because many players claim that it is even better than the teddy buggy
@@user-pl3vg3di4l I haven’t Tetris Yoshi pipe frame in a while but from what I remember teddy buggy is better. Maybe I’ll make a video m Yoshi pip frame sometime.
@@Gnawy Yes, please, could you make a video explaining who has the best statistics and which one you recommend.
@@user-pl3vg3di4l I have two videos currently being worked on right now but after that I will!
Ur underrated
Una pregunta, cual es el mejor control para super smash bros ultimate???
I’m not a big smash ultimate player but the best people use the GameCube controller for it
D pad triggering motion controls is not a coincidence...
@@brendanglascock332 we need a game theory on that lol
The video itself was nice with some funny editing, but the point doesn't make all that much sense. The "Power A Spectra Enhanced wired controller" Is just a 3rd party controller that has 2 "Advance gaming buttons" on the back where you can map. These controllers don't generally don't feel great, cheaper buttons and usually the stick is bigger and the quality of it is worse, they're still fine for casual games. The main point is that this controller can do glider vectoring, but I would argue that soft drifting is a lot more viable. Because you use it on every course and it speeds you up more, unlike glider vectoring which is a good technique. But not on every map and doesn't do a whole bunch.
You can still soft drift with this just like how you would with an official Nintendo Switch Pro controller and Power A is a big brand and as I said in the video Nintendo stands behind them. I personally enjoy the big joysticks and the build quality is amazing imo. I have heard on some reviews that their quality control itself isn't the best but if someone were to end up with a bad copy, he could just return it and get a different controller on re-order the same one. It's up to each person what controller they use though 🤷♂
You can soft drift with any controller as long as you're willing to learn LMAO using a GC controller is just lazy, the easy path
Soft drifing is so much more important than motion gliding, gc has 100% accuracy. Any other one doesn’t. Yes you can learn it and almost always do it, but you won’t have 100% accuracy even pro players mess up on that sometimes. So you saying the gc is easier. Kinda just makes the point that is better
@@theodorewins I mean if you mess it up its going to ruin your race and it also super easy to get consistent the spectra or pro controller. With joycons it's REALLY hard but aside from that it should be pretty easy on any controller. It's just muscle memory but if you're not willing to learn ig keep using the GC controller.
Yeah but you can also use GameCube for smash bros like most smash bro pros do
@@KyleIan_Vids-NEW That’s true. This video was about optimizing very very small things so it doesn’t really matter too much which one you pick between the two
this controller can be used for almost any game, cant it?
@@aAlbertEinstein the game cube controller can be used for pretty much all switch games. Just keep in mind you would want to keep a pair of joycons by you for capture, minus, and home buttons.
@@Gnawy its not supported officially though?
This feels sponsored lollll
I just love the Power A controller 🤷♂️
I mean the whole point of this video is about which type of controller is most convenient for motion gliding and other things.
I have a better solution for motion glider remap the two button to left and right but now remap the Y button to up then when you motion gliding press one of the back button and press the remaped Y button and you‘re motion gliding!
@@JimmyhuyTran I accelerate with Y and the problem with this is you have to unprogram in when when you want to play a different game. Also the method in the video allows you to keep hold accelerate while Motion Gliding.
@@Gnawy I accelerate with A then can remap with Y, i came from the Pro Controller and buyed this controller only for MK8DX then i just unplug it and connect my Pro Controller.
I do this because i came from a Tetris Effect Connected Community then i can switch button kind of fast then i just drift of with A change to Y and press one of the back button.
If you can do it you can press A and Y at the same the but is very hard.
When you don’t use back shouter the ZL and ZR button like me you can remap it to A then when you of the glider you have no risk of accelerating again.
@@JimmyhuyTran wow. That is a lot of stuff but if it’s the best then it’s the best
You also remap A when you accelerate with Y!
I want to play with you pls add me as a friend
I have had and used this controller before watching this video
Nice man!
Idk man, powerA products suck, could’ve recommended a Hori or 8bitdo instead with the same features
My experience with Power A has been spot on. I’ve never tried a Hori or 8bitso controller with those features. From some of their other products they both seem like great brands but Power A seems the most trust worthy to me. Also I heard since 8bitdo (and I think hori) are not licensed by Nintendo for their controllers, they have slightly higher latency which can be fine for some games but for Mario Kart you need the lowest latency possible. I’ve kind of noticed that with my smaller 8bitdo controllers so that why I don’t recommend them as much as power a. PDP might be a good option as they have a very similar controller and my friend seems to like their controllers if you don’t like Power A. And also that Rgb gives you a 100000000x pro gamer skill increase and power a and pdp are the only ones that offer that so 🤷♂️
@@Gnawy hori is licensed and honestly the license is meaningless and....dude the pro controller has insane latency lmao and yet you didnt dismiss it for that reason in the video, i feel you are just praising the PowerA you have cause its the one you have and not because its actually good
@@AshiodyneFXthe Pro Controller has good latency from what I remember (I don’t have one but I used someone’s a few times before) and if hori is licensed then yes it would probably be just as good, I just don’t want to tell people to use a controller I have no experience with and has no rep in the pro Mario Kart circles. If they have the same features and build quality then yeah it would be just as great! And also I bought it because it’s the best controller 💀
@@Gnawy the pro controller has a VERYYYY poor polling rate
@AshiodyneFX it felt fine to me and pretty much all the top players use it so I think it’s pretty good. 8bitdo is just massively overrated imo
Yoo my cousins got me a controller with no motion and back buttons!
@@notfis2241 that’s sick! Hope motion glider works for you!
@@Gnawy hey, while your here, do you mind telling me how to do it both ways, with only two back button?
@@notfis2241 pretty much, just assign the left back button to dpad left and the right one to dpad up. Even though there’s no button mapped to right just hold both back buttons and turn the stick up and right and it will work. I have no idea why but it does.
@@Gnawy thank you very much! What’s crazy is I thought about that, but I was stumped when I realized that I couldn’t vector both ways.
@@notfis2241 no problem! lmk if you have any more trouble
Bro motion glider HAS to be removed in mk9 i despise this cheap strategy.
Anyone can do it on any controller so it's not unfair or cheap. Sure it's 100x easier on some controllers honestly it's just a strategy. Do you also think bagging is cheap?
where can i assign the buttons at the back
on the back of the controller, there should be a button that says "program" hold that until the white light on the front starts blinking. After that press the button you want to assign (ex. D-Pad left) and then press the button you want to assign it to (ex. left back button) and then just do it wit the other one and you're good!
@@Gnawy It is interesting that the extra back buttons work on Switch for the PowerA controller. I have an 8bitdo Pro 2, and the back buttons don't work on Switch there.
@@rbarua3368 Maybe it's because Power A controllers are all licensed by Nintendo but (to my knowledge) no 8bitdo controllers are.
