I been looking in to this bike like everyday every chance I get lol, I do want one and I plan on picking one up in the next 2 weeks, hopefully there will be some warm weather left in the season. Nice video
Hope you waited for the 2025 version lol. The new headlights are just so nice on the new one. Will be looking to see if it's possible to change out the headlight from the 2023 M1000R one to the new ones.
Thanks for a great honest owner review 👍🏼. You're also the first owner to mention the quick shifter issue 14:25. I have experienced the same issues (intermittently), but maybe more regularly, than you. It's like you're suddenly clutchless downshifting, without a quickshifter fitted. Have you experienced any occasional clunk from the gearbox, when you use the clutch? Or any clutch snatch or judder when pulling away? BMW say to they can't find any of these issues I've reported and that nobody else has mentioned/reported them. I don't have any high-speed wobbling issues, others mention. The M1000R is definitely a phenomenal motorbike. Ride safe 🙂
Appreciate it! I occasionally get the clunk if I get a false neutral and pull the clutch to drop back into gear but overall its been really good. No real judder or anything unless I'm not being smooth on the clutch or just not giving it enough throttle pulling away. I've experienced the same issue with the quickshifter on my RR in low revs sometimes not wanting to go from 4 to 3 or 3 to 2 but again its rare. I think its just a quirk of the BMW shifter. A quick fix Ive found is if it doesn't want to go give it a tiny throttle input and then try again. Its gone every time after that.
Great video. I just picked one up last week. I'm looking to get a SC PROJECT CARBON CRT FULL EXHAUST SYSTEM. It says no fuel re mapping required. Thoughts on that?
Congrats! You can definitely run it without the remap/tune but the difference is night and day tuned/not tuned It runs so much happier (and better) once I tuned it. Its not a oh this is sorta better type thing its a oh this is a different bike
@@titus1427 personally I would wait, I did on mine. Warranty wise I’ve tried to do everything by the book, plus if it does have any issue it’ll probably show up in those first 5-600 miles. It’s tough I know haha I wanted to tear into the thing immediately
It is still going to be running lean....get some earplugs because they are LOUD (I have M1kRR with akra and SC Progect CRT and its crazy loud). THe tune is needed and will change the bike completely...but make sure you dont get the rev limiter moved beyond factory setting and get ready to fight if you have any warranty issues with motor/coils....as they will fight you on it.
@@DongYonderhaha thanks for the advice bro. I'm gonna go ahead and wait it out. Does the tune help in first gear? When I'm in parking lots, places where it requires super slow speeds it feels like it wants to stall out.
Have you adjusted your suspension at all? Tire pressures? Just curious, I think these bikes are a little more sensitive to being properly set up than some others. If you have and its still wobbling thats really odd. I truly haven't felt much of anything all the way up to 160mph
I don't want you to think I'm telling you how to ride, we all ride differently. If you ride around in top gear more instead of 3rd and 4th you would get around 40mpg.
Oh I know, I just like being in the power band more. Also gives a little better engine braking if I let off. If I'm cruising down the highway I'll be in 6th. Thanks for watching!
hey so i’ve talked to two dealers that are telling me do not use bt moto as they have about between the two of them about 7 m1000r and m1000rr with blown motors all bt moto stage 1
Interesting, because my local BMW dealer not only recommend the BT Moto tune for my M1000XR but also did the install. I actually went there to get the TOM update
In my research and talking with my dealer I think all the blown motor stuff is being exaggerated. I'm not saying it didn't happen but what I am saying is that a lot of the circumstances of the more high profile failures are very questionable in how the bikes were treated. I had a long conversation with my dealer about the tune and warranty etc. and they were very supportive. They said just don't touch the stock limiter and I shouldn't have any issues with warranty if its ever needed. The tune makes such a difference in the bike that I would do it all again. In fact I'll be adding the BT tune to my RR when its done with it's break in. I think some dealers just have a weird attitude towards modifying a bike at all and I try and steer clear from those
I've had mine since launch and not had a single speed wobble. Mirrors! Pah. Just not enough of an issue to bother me. At all. Fortunately, us Europeans don't suffer that flat spot in the tuning. In the UK, insurance is going to be the downfall of this bike for me. I nearly couldn't get a policy this year after one year of ownership, and now I'm dreading the renewal in April '25. I have also experienced the "no shift" issue. I did a track day on it, though, and it was faultless. The TFT and tech on this bike is monumental but I think that changing the suspension settings from road to race means a lot of screen navigation which has become annoying. It loves going slow AND fast. I can't remain going slow on it for too long, unfortunately. Once you get into to the "zone" of this thing, you cannot think rationally anymore and my right hand just keeps rotating.
Appreciate your thoughts! Amazing machines. I hope you’re able to get the insurance sorted. I have to wonder is that how Europe is trying to crack down on bikes like these?
@@DongYonder That's a good point. It wouldn't surprise me if that were the case. I'm hoping, come April when all my convictions come off my licence, that the insurance cost won't be too bad. Recently, the right hand winglet plastic cracked near the rear mounting bolt. BMW are changing it on warranty as it is a known issue. Bear that in mind if you find a crack on your winglets. Also, the right hand headlamp fairing snapped off during a track day last summer. £60 for the plastic and another £60 for the decal.
My experience riding one of these is how absolutely butter the shifts are. Absolutely no “clunks” it slides in like it’s meant to be there.
Exactly. It's so good!
Haha Cool man, I appreciate the advice. I'll definitely wait it out then. Look fwd to more of your vids. Stay blessed.
Enjoy it! I think you're gonna love that thing

Great insight. I was going to get the M package on the S, now I’m not so sure.
Thanks for watching man! I can't recommend the M1K highly enough, its been such a great bike.
The UK bikes don't have that big flat spot must just be the emissions between different countries😊
Thats interesting. I wish it was that way here, but I'm thankful I can at least fix it!

I feel the wobble on my 24

@ the suspension was adjusted at the dealer. They have a few and got me set up close to what others have had. Tire pressure was correct.
I have a Ducati monster is it worth the switch?
It would definitely be a step up. If this is the sort of bike you're looking for I cant recommend it enough in the 1k naked bike category.
What are those windscreen again and do they make a difference at hwy speed and when tucked in? Thanks
ilmberger carbon. It makes some difference but not like a full on wind screen. Takes the edge off but definitely still a naked bike
@@DongYonder thank you! You got a beautiful machine there
hey bud, thinking about buying the bike. Can you list the mods?
Yeah sure thing. Bt Moto stage 1 tune, Ilmberger windscreen and belly pan, 25mm bar risers, high M seat, and Evo Tech radiator and axle guards

I like it. Helps a bit but still a naked bike either way. Liked how it looks more than anything else
