I stayed overnight at the Corral RV Park in Dalhart on my way from San Antonio to Denver. It was the maiden voyage of our Raptor toy hauler when I picked it up in Texas. VERY small RV world.
So glad you enjoyed your time in our neck of the woods. We love the hot springs and take our camper over for weekends. As I type this we are now three days from taking our show on the road full time. Picked up our Solitude in Oklahoma and brought it back Tuesday and we are loading in…..so excited! We both retired the 30th of June!
I was Pinion Flats campground host at Great Sand Dunes National Park a couple of years ago and will be back there the end of this month. It is a great park. That alien watchtower is a hoot, isn't it? And San Luis Lakes Wildlife Area is a little known gem for free camping - with electric. Up until last year it was completely free for over 60. But then they began the hinting or fishing license requirement. And even though there are no water or sewer hookups, there is a dumpster and a dump station and you can get your water at the national park only 8 miles away. I can't believe you took spot 15. That is my favorite there I always take that one if it is open.
Colorado springs here....yea the sand dunes are definitely something different. When it floods it reminds me of an Egyptian landscape with the Nile. Weird location, scorpions included 👍🦂
Because of the altitude Adams State is known nationally for it's cross country and track teams. The air is definitely thinner than Texas, but after a week or so you acclimate
Another great video. You both provide wonderful video and comments on the places you go and your laid back personality is refreshing. Oh and then there is Ms Daisy.
Thanks for sharing the video My wife and I have a homestead 30 miles north west of the dunes, the San Luis Valley ( Villa Grove ) is where we chose to build our retirement home. There are many other things to see and do in that area, just north about 50 miles you will find the Arkansas River a great rafting experience can be had there as well as gold medal trout fishing.
OMG...I laughed so hard when you were sliding. That was some extreme exercise. 😳I bet your legs needed to rest the next day. Thanks for sharing..the landscapes are amazing
We have visited great sand dune np in early may 2018, wind was blowing so hard felt like sandblasting my whole body specially my face, although I made it to two third way up only one couple front of me. When I come back my mouth was filled with sand even though I was wearing mask. Safe travels.
My family just moved from there last December after spending about seven years just outside Alamosa. So many wonderful memories. 😊 I’m glad y’all had a great time. Dust storms are crazy. One spring storm it was so bad it was like right out of a movie.
That was funny! Glad you're enjoying new places in CO! I didn't even know about the Recreation place with the pools. We usually go to Joyful Journey up at the north end of the valley. Or Mt. Princeton. Another cool short hike in that area (only accessible by a relatively high clearance vehicle) is Zapata Falls. The Sand Hill Cranes migrate through there twice a year too.
When we went there last fall we did the fishing permit online and just show the guy at the campground the receipt on our cell phone , We only stayed a couple of days but we had a good time ,and did you see the size of the Jack rabbits .
My wife and I injoy your videos very much, thanks for the hard work making them. We have traveled some but we have gotten to old to go very much now. But we like to dream.
Love seeing your travel videos. You provide such helpful info such as campgrounds, places to see/eat, etc. You two are hilarious with the sledding adventures!
This was supposed to be the FIRST stop of our full-time RV life. It would've had me just giggling to see you two on our very first stop. Instead, we were waiting on a new engine and started the next week in beautiful Buena Vista, Colorado. We still want to visit the Sand Dunes RV Park. Someday...
The San Luis Valley is about 100 miles long and 60 miles wide. A huge underground aquifer. Often see water coming up from the ground. Hope you spent some time in Alamosa, my son graduated from Adams State a few years ago
That looks fun. When you come to Idaho you have to check out Bruneau Sand dunes State park. Great campground with power water and dump station. Tallest single structure Sand dunes in north America. Easier walk to the dunes. Happy Travels.
Thanks for this video! We're stopping at Great Sand Dunes NP in Aug. on our way to Grand Teton and Yellowstone! Btw, I ordered that same Sun Shade hat, Tara! It fits pretty well and the brim is wide enough to protect my neck when my hair is up. I like it so far.
Yay Daisy !!. Oh yeah hey guys 🤗🤗.I patterned my stimulated shore power system after yours. Really anxious to see the new solar setup. Safe travels 🙏🏿💕
Sorry to hear Daisy isn’t feeling well her neck. I will pray 🙏for her. Tara balky belated birthday! 🎈🎉🤗 Glad you both had fun on the sand dunes. Dying to see the next video.

Great video, the oasis in the desert with the pools was really interesting, sand and more sand, Tara's wipout would have been good to see in slow motion, lolol. Glad Daisy's ok, travel safe.
We were just there today! The dunes kicked my 50 year old butt. We also hike to to Zapata falls just outside the park. Absolutely beautiful. We had a good time on highway 160 coming in from moab. Wolf creek pass is no joke. So glad for the f350 dually! Safe travels!!
Dudette:-) Yoo Robert, I thought I was the only one to use the name Dudette:-) It's approprite for Tara though!. They truly are an amazing couple! -keith
I stumbled upon this video and you 2 are so adorable and funny!!! I was just at the sand dubes natiinal park on June 2nd and the hot springs the same day!!....so cool to see your perspective on it all...and it was quite the workout I wssn't fully prepared for!!..lol....happy travels!!🌞😎😉

I stayed overnight at the Corral RV Park in Dalhart on my way from San Antonio to Denver. It was the maiden voyage of our Raptor toy hauler when I picked it up in Texas. VERY small RV world.
I was born and raised in Wichita Falls. My grandparents use to have a mobile home at this park 50 years ago when it was a trailer park.
The ten years between 29 and 30 are the best of your life! Awesome video. Thank you for taking us along.
Such an awesome area. We were there a couple years ago. We stayed at Great Sand Dunes Oasis. Nice people down there.
Congrats all the way around!! Safe travels.
I'm not sure what I enjoy more. The places you two go to or the way the two of you interact. You are so much fun to watch.
