@@bonjovi1354 Just because of the Impulse's age and the itch to buy something a bit more modern. My other bike is also an older STD 350, so a nicer daily driver would be nice.
xpulse is an highly overrated bike, and impulse is an highly underrated bike. as an impulse owner who has superior suspension and geometry, i always see the xpulse as a serious downgrade IMHO..
The xpulse is softer in design than the softest dual sport motorcycles but that has to do with the fact that most buyers are simply looking for a commuter motorcycle with longer suspension travel to deal with the pot hole plagued roads. Kudos to Hero for trying. I am sure we will see more serious offings as the buyers mature in skill and off roading interest

What about the tight gear shifting of old xpulse and poor headlight? Another problem is false gear, even the vehicle sometimes keeps moving in neutral gear. These are the main issues that I face with my xpulse. Other than these issues, the bike just flows on the tough indian roads. 👍
First of all why you even need gear indicator (if you are beginner then it's ok) you can easily feel the in which gear your bike is so why depending on indicator, talking about headlight yeah it sucks you have to install aux lights so solve this

Off roads/regular roads in india are pritty much filled with nails and sharp objects.. Getting puncture is a serious concern specially when ur on the way for important job.
You can't expect a adventure bike with alloy wheels because spoke wheels are best for off-road and talking about puncture it's not that hard to deal I have ridden 90% of my riding life on tube tyres but It never made me uncomfortable
I hope it is not top heavy as my BS4 xpulse. Stock tyres are horrible when it rains on trails. Rode an impulse from other rider and found it to be more confidence inspiring. Just felt handling and weight of impulse much better
bro are you seeing any vibration in the bike after 90km speed like royal enfield classic? or you didnt see any vibration in the bike after 110 km speed also ?
Actually telling the actual speed is kinda hard but you can just feel it while riding if you feel engine is stressed it's gonna suck your milage so you just have to maintain perfect gear and RPM while riding for best mileage

Given the state of our Indian roads. Only off road bikes are the ideal solution. I wonder what took it so long to people and bike companies to understand 🤔
This is a great bike for off roaders and youngsters. But I have something to say to HeroCorp 1. Need a lengthy seat for pillion comfort 2. Bike looks thin, Silencer looks bulky. Make a sleek silencer 3. Need seat adjustment to lower/increase seat height 4. Bike looks aggressive but not the specs. For performance, bigger capacity should not be the primary concern. What matters is power (@RPM) and torque (@RPM), weight and peak power-to-weight / torque-to-weight ratio, five or six gears depending on gear ratios.. better power can be obtained on lower cc engines with modern, efficient tech if they also want to optimise fuel efficiency. I guess 140 to 150 kg kerb weight is manageable and accordingly 35 bhp / 35 Nm should be good. A parallel twin might also decrease vibration levels at the cost of bulkier packaging. Also good aerodynamic design to improve mileage, ample ground clearance (220 mm+), comfortable seating ergos and seats, luggage carrying capacity. I wonder why bike manufacturers are not willing to optimise and tailor their products a bit more given their engineering experience
@@manoj.baishya True, but what is the maximum that this engine could provide, could it produce 30 BHP and 30 Nm of peak torque without a change in internal components and capacity?
@@krishnamahatre8605 I don't think so, any change in power/torque figures will require either change in internals or a new engine altogether.. I googled Duke 200's figures and they stand at 25 bhp / 19.2 Nm (much better than XPulse at same cc). What I meant by my comment that a desired power target (say 30 bhp) can be obtained by a combination of factors like slightly bigger engine capacity, cooling strategy, lubrication, better cycle parts, better combustion efficiency, maybe improved materials, transmission etc, instead of just bumping up the capacity alone and expecting rise in power output (which is not very intelligent design in my opinion). As an example, I looked at Jawa's Perak engine which is 334 cc and makes 30.6 bhp / 32.7 Nm (which is 70 cc less than a Himalayan yet makes more power + similar torque).. of course all of these improvements will also raise the prices. Like using aircraft grade titanium/aluminium/ carbon fibre/kevlar components will lower mass a lot but dramatically increase cost
