Went up there as two "snotkop" school boys in 1971 with two Honda 50cc C110's. Rode them all the way from Thornton in the Western Cape... We got heavily snowed in while at Sani and had to stay in the holding cells for three days... even the toilet's water froze solid! Our epic and never to be repeated trip was covered by Die Burger newspaper... Sweet memories! Thanks for this video!

In most movies and cartoons, good triumphs over evil.
Most people enjoy such movies and cartoons.
It is because people love good.
Study, work, exercise, illness, etc. cause stress.
Stress creates an evil mind and leads to evil actions.
Most people are good, but stress breeds bad thoughts and bad behavior.
Give peace to all people by freeing them from study, work, exercise and disease.

Thanx for hi-jacking our trip. It would not have been remotely as much fun as we had

The X-Pulse is a proper bike. My favourite basic, liitle bike is the Suzuki VanVan 200. More expensive, mind.
Excellent video. Great bike. Very good rider, too.

Great Video . Thank you so much.
This just goes to show that what you think you need, vs what you actually need are often miles apart. I grew up in SA riding a 1979 Yamaha Enduro 175 (DT) for many years including two trips to (then) PE and back form JHB. Never ever let me down.
Last year I hired a GS 850 and ride the Western Cape for a week. Stunning unpaved mountain passes to say the least. Nice bike but I can honestly say there were quite a few occasions where I missed my little 175 .
As your brilliant series is so conclusively proving, you are not going to have less fun on an X-Pulse.

Friend of mine had one of those. He modded it with a YZ pipe, knobby tires, 520 chain and sprockets to match and a little porting work.
He used to trail ride with it. Bike brought him home every single time.

Brings back great memories i did that trip on my Honda XL185. 1st gear only as well near the top. Awesome fun.
Rode from Dbn to Himeville after work on the Friday, slept at the Engen Garage on the forecourt- safe in those days. Not open 24hrs then.
Rode up the pass on Saturday, slept in a tent at the top and rode back down and home to Durban on Sunday.
Great bike. At the time it was my sole transport.
Hero reminds me a lot of my XL185.

Hi Donovan, great & genuine explaination about the xpulse. I am also a proud honour of xpulse 200 4v. In simple sentence I would like to say about is an all-round bike & is very user-friendly in all aspects. Thanks
Here in India , some of the people climbed Himalayas with xpulse without any issue.
Also, I hope you know, hero is also a participant of the world's famous Dakar race. They have 420 cc adventure bike.

This channel continues to impress. So many people and channels are throwing around lots of money and product placements. This one seems a lot more down to earth. Great work.

A very enjoyable video, I’ve watched it 3 times! It also prompted me to rewatch Itchy Boots riding Sani Pass (S5, Ep14) as I didn’t remember it being so rocky when she did it. I was wrong, it was 🇬🇧

when i was just a kid in the mid 80s i lived with my dad in Himeville and he worked at mokhotlong mountain transport which i thin is a hotel or something now on the sani pass road. So the sani road, not the actual pass itself, was my playground and what a playground it was for a 14 year old kid in takkies with a Suzuki ER50....i'd ride and then just go left or right and head up a mountain until the bike wouldn't go anymore.....some of the best times of my life for sure..
you see how there's no rocks at the edge once you get to the top? that's because i threw them all over the edge years ago!

So you were able to ride up the pass but how was riding from Joburg to Underberg? Or did you trail the bikes down? I am sure the Tank Girls rode their DR650s.

In India , "Hero MotoCorp" or in short "Hero" manufactures Petrol run bikes and scooters. And there is another company named "Hero Electric" who manufactures Electric gearless scooters. Both are different companies.
Recently "Hero MotoCorp" introduced electric Scooters under sub brand "Vida" in India.
