The F-15 that I crewed back in 1981 pulled 12G's for a second. Pilot was white as a ghost. 74-125. Wings rippled and had puddles on them every time it rained.
Who would of though in 2023 the F-15 is still in production and the F-22 is not.
Even though the F-22 is far superior to the F-15…
There are multiple reasons, one being the f22 was meant to share components with other aircraft like the Comanche which never entered service

To have a successful military industrial complex contracts are divided between the big players:
F-15 Boeing
F-35 LM
Jobs for each state. Votes for each senator.

Not s boeing. The f15 will always be mcdonnel douglas to me.. being can stick with population control via the 737 max as far as im concerned.

I was stationed as a Marine on Okinawa our base was cross the road from Kadena AFB I was their in 79-80 in 79 the Air Force traded their F-4s for F-15s I got to see them fly over all the time like being at an air show 👍🇺🇸

Would you rather have an F-15 protecting you or an A-10? I would go with the F-15. Those things flying over at high speed low altitude will scare you to death.

The F15 is the what results when the US defense industry (and government) throws its weight behind a project meant to counter a threat that didn't really exist (the Foxbat being a super agile fighter) and is *mega* impressive. One of the few good things to come out of McDonnell Douglas basically buying Boeing with Boeing's money (I know that isn't how it worked on paper but that is when Boeing shifted to the accountant and share price lead model that that has created so many problems for them rather than being engineering first) is that this platform has seen continued development. Crazy to see a plane of this age still be so capable.
DARPA specs and guidelines come to life. The F-15 is the realization of misread Mig 25 fears. The F-15 exceeded all expectations. It made the Soviets recalculate and to try to surpass it in turn. Hence the Russian airshow ballerina 4th gen. Now it's BVR.

I still think the F-22 is superior to the F-15. It’s very strange that they stopped making F-22’s but are still developing the F-15.
😆the f15 is cheaper, easier to maintain, and much more versatile than the f22. the f22 was designed as an air superiority fighter to succeed the older variants of the f15 and has very limited ground attack capability, while newer f15s can do it all in exchange for stealth. f22s havent been produced since 2011 but they were made because they were built to fill a very specific role that an f15 cant, but with the ngad coming it looks like itll have some competition.

This newer or upgraded F15 is an embarrassment to what we do in this country. The silent eagle cost more than even an F35 to produce. This one reason why other countries are advancing so much. We overcharge and have so much red tape that we only care about high profits and less about our country staying ahead.

I don't get the hype. F-15's have been pulling 9G since the early 70's.
Unless the 9G flight envelope is larger (allowing 9G to be pulled/sustained at lower airspeeds) and/or the FBW FLCS allows controlled maneuvers that would put a Legacy or Strike Eagle into a departure being demonstrated at the Dubai Air Show, I'm not really all that impressed.
