This is an amazing aircraft that you have created. The back seat panel that shows what the person in training sees, and the ability to correct a maneuver or anything that needs to be done to ensure the error doesn't bring the air craft down is a fantastic addition. Thank you for explaining each part, what it does, and the reasoning behind the change. Awesome!
Proud of my uncle's work because he works as a supplier for Boeing in the old Santa Monica McDonnell Douglas facility. Will the Swedish Air Force get this too because Saab helped Boeing Corporation this design
Cool Fighter Jet Trainer👏 Boeing/Saab should make T-XM Naval version of the T-X to train Naval Fighter Pilots on Aircraft Carriers (both catapult & Ski-Jump type launch), also T-XM would make for a brilliant MLCA (Marine Light Combat Aircraft) a low cost high performance solution for Global Naval Fighter Market!👍
The growth potential designed into this aircraft does make me wonder if a future role as a light attack aircraft was not on some peoples minds from the start, at least for the export market, if not for the US or Sweden.
It is a training aircraft that is meant to bring modern aspects into pilot training, to better prepare them for today's complex 4th and 5th generation fighters. Lots of sophisticated systems stuff, high sustained Gs and high alpha flying in a fast jet. Apparently, it has growth potential for more fuel, more avionics and heavier loads and was designed using an open architecture plan for its software and systems, making future upgrades and additions easier. I believe this aircraft and some others, can generate their own synthetic environment using the on-board systems, which is cheaper and more flexible than flying dedicated mission aitcraft or using complex test ranges. I've read that the ground based training systems have also been designed with the same goal, which is better training, with lower sustainment costs and an optimized use of airframes. Such an approach is meant to prepare pilots to be well beyond the basics before they start burning fuel and putting hours on an airframe. Keep in mind, this is not a basic trainer and the pilots will have already completed quite a bit of training before getting their hands on this aircraft. Saab are a partner of Boeing's on this project and it is now officially the T-7A Red Hawk.
This is my new favorite plane. Give it a f414 engine, a single seat and pylons for gun pods and missiles and it could be an excellent fighter, maybe the best. Pierre Spey would approve I'm sure.
