- Jack White guitar tech Dan Mancini shows us around the wild mods he and the Fender Custom Shop made to the guitar hero's Low Rider Telecaster, which only got crazier as their tours continued. The Tele was on display at the Third Man Hardware booth at NAMM 2024… and anyone could play it!
Jack went from one extreme to the other with his gear. From budget simplicity to over the top. BTW... I'm not bagging on him, just sharing an observation. I actually like a lot of his music.
Ironically nothing budget now about those fiberglass cheapo guitars tho hah .it's good to see he's finally set his adult mind to something practical ,gear wise ,not purely aesthetic .he's discovered "adjusting the knobs" ,i guess . A guitar that flashy deserves to be one pickup simplicity tho
@@GrievousThaumatin Those old Airline guitars were dirt cheap until Jack started playing them and everybody wanted one.
He needs something solid for touring, but its nothing custom shop, its an off the shelf mexican that he modified himself. Heavily.
@@Ottophil Looks just like his CUSTOM SHOP Tele that had a P-90 in the middle. He has a couple of CUSTOM SHOP Teles.
@@Ottophil On YT... Jack White III shows his new Custom Shop Telecaster
"You won't be able to hear too much on the show floor."
You got that straight, Jack.
His captain howdy triple mic gag 🤢
That potentiometer kill switch is bad ass idea tho
@@GrievousThaumatin Are you talking about his three mics on one stand? If so, that evolved from using three mics in three different stage placements in The White Stripes, and they serve a purpose from a production standpoint. Three different mics would have three distinct sounds for different songs. Also, having gain, effects, and volume control for different songs (while the FOH engineer being able to sort of plan ahead, though Jack doesn't usually use a setlist) is so valuable from a live sound engineering perspective.
@@ShouldHaveBeen meh
@@GrievousThaumatin Your ignorance and apathy speak volumes without a mic. Something doesn't have to be impressive to given the bare minimum amount of respect.
That approach to scallop is awesome
Ritchie Blackmore did it that way as well.
Thank you for this video. Love it.
I can Hear Him !!!!!!! He 's a really cool guy !! and that tele is crazy !!!!!!
Really really cool GitBox!!!
That's a nice piece. 😊
I want this
Beautiful guitar !
Beautiful guitar.
I will buy one depending on price but he's the man & that guitar was orange at 1 point they keep making it better from an article I read
Are they releasing this a limited run?
Yep - you can buy it now for about $4k with taxes
It's nice but I really liked that Astral II he used to use.
I love his Gretsch and his Kay.
So.. is Fender going to issue a custom shop batch for like $5k or are we able to send one to Third Man to have it made because I really want one now.
I pray it becomes a signature model
@@stt5994your prayers have been answered. No b-bender but it's all there.
Someone needs to learn about location sound recording....
This is coverage from the NAMM show.. it’s like being in the middle of 50 guitar centers. It’s actually pretty good.
@@joea9608 The original commenter is pretty ignorant considering context and circumstance.
What is he saying??
Yeah seriously you can barley hear him
just put "follow along with transcript" on there
Thought that was Geddy Lee 😂😂😂😂😂😂
like when homer simpson designs his car 😅
A side of scallops 😂
Love jack but I'm not crazy about non trad teles. But it don't mean jack
Come again?
Ummm scallops! 🤣🤣🤣
Fire your sound guy
For what? For doing their best (with most likely little or no no gear) in an extremely loud environment?
lol that is all.
I dont like this style 🤷🏻 keep it oldschool for me 😅👍
Nice child guitar 😂
How so? It's a quality instrument. Taking into account that he started with a cheap Kay and a cheap Airline and moved onto a Gretsch (and numerous other guitars) he still managed to revolutionize and impact contemporary music "Over and Over and Over" again. A good carpenter doesn't blame their tools.
At some point the color schemz remind me 0f an aging hippi3 .I'm no b00mer ,but metal flake just doesn't work on a tele ,at all .telees are organic hues only .strats etc ,can all be whatever tho ,EXCEPTING wood tones ,beyond buddy Holly kind .les Pauls (&*Vs!) should be whatever suits to match. Jus sayin
Jack White probably the most overrated guitar player on this planet
I think you meant to say most underrated. 😉
There there, you got a little piece of attention

Jack White is a cornball
How so? For revolutionizing music and the industry? For being a showman? For writing some of the most relevant and creative contemporary songs? Though calling him a cornball isn't the worst thing and it may even be meant endearingly, it undermines the indelible impact he has made in music.
@@ShouldHaveBeen he steals 90 percent of his riffs from dead black blues musicians. And upvoting yourself is just as corny bro
@@jadong8989 What do you think blues music is? It is a form of folk music which is traditionally passed down without formal musical training or education. Also, those blues songs he covers are in the public domain. You are trying to belittle me over liking my own comment? You are being outstandingly ignorant, "bro." Troll elsewhere, "bro."
@ShouldHaveBeen did I strike a nerve bro? Just realized that your favorite musician gets cornier by the minute? He hasn't wrote a good song in 20 years and hasn't played a riff well in 10 years
@@jadong8989 In no way did my comment infer that you "struck a nerve." It's idiotic to even assume that it did. Your baseless opinions are laughable and his many Grammy awards say otherwise as he was judged and found wanting by an academy of his peers. I have discredited your opinion and proven you wrong. How can you even take yourself seriously saying the word "bro?" That word is for the unintelligent, ignorant, and lazy. Like I said, troll elsewhere.
