FFS now I need a drop-D switch. Absolutely ridiculous. I love it.
I'm kinda surprised Jack White put that on, as I would imagine it would take him just as long to downtune the string as flip the knob. But it is fun!
Van Halen had the D-tuna on his floyds.
Don’t know much about them but would be fantastic on a floating bridge guitar
Seems like flipping that switch repeatedly would be hell on the E-string. Not a big deal for a pro with gear to spare and guitar techs at the ready.
Same.
This is one of the most versatile guitar setups I've seen. He really modded it like a real hot rod.
☺️
“Hey Jack can you make me a drink while you’re over there?”
*handed an apple*
“Thanks Jack.”
The drink is inside
4th dimensional cider
I think Jack's friends just like pissing him off
it's Jack Lawrence the bass player of the Raconteurs
Unbeknownst to all, the apple seed eventually grew, forming an oasis of tranquility....
In the chaos of UA-cam's usual comment sections 🍻😃
🌴🌴🌴🌊🌴🌴🌴
Jack in The White Stripes: "I am going to go every length to make my guitar hard to use"
Jack in The Raconteurs: *has a switch just for drop d*
Same with his solo stuff as of late. He ditched vintage guitars for EVH Wolfgangs, said they're incredibly easy to play in comparison to vintage gear. Although he wanted to fight with his gear in the past I think he's changed his gear as his music has changed.
I understood about 25% of this. Still a killer video!
Now if you could find one picking right! Love your channel!
It's a guitar player's dream. It costs a couple of grand to have a tele routed this way. The tele costs at least $700 to begin. 🤔 I might router my guitar?
Yeah, I'm going to do it! 🍺!
@@jokingker2553 I build guitars and if someone is charging you a couple grand to route a b bender into an existing guitar they are ripping you off!
@@JBirdCustoms Lol. How much would you charge?
I love how Jack is always evolving as an artist, and always interesting. oh, and the white hardware looks cool AF.
Jack White is low-key one of the funniest dudes
High-key*
Hes about as low key as hot pink and not funny at all.
@@RobertELee420 damn someone got up with the wrong foot- you're lowkey on the wrong vid o.o
@@kociogvint8574 when you’re called Robert Lee, nothing is ever funny
@@RobertELee420 Why are you watching his video then?
"We'll Cut The Dogs Out In Post" looks like that was a lie
I'm ordering 2 shirts that say FIX IT ON SET...
when an editor hears "we'll fix it in post" it goes in one ear and right out the other
im not sure if jack said that jokingly or he actually was angrey
A lie but there is truth of poetry in there
@@IsaacRossMusic1He was joking.
That has to be one of the coolest guitars ever from a technical point of view
Jack White is so funny is this video is testament to that
Like someone said in the original video posted on here, "Did I just watch Jack White get himself an apple to drink?"
🤔...Jack Lawrence fixed him an apple blossom but didn't "Airborne, too much, too soon, too fast" it to him
I thought Jack White was referring to the old joke about the magic apples.
I
Thought it was a pear.
Love listening to Jack talk about guitars and music.
THEY FINALLY POSTED IT !!!
I was the guy who posted that first version on youtube and got striked several months afterwards. When I saw they did this, I wasn't angry, but I wanted to send an email saying "please post this on youtube", but got to lazy to do it. so happy they posted this great video !
Thank you, loved the video!
When did they do this? Were they just randomly live?
You rock dude. Screw the strike. 🤘🏼
The smile on Jack's face when talking about the paint wearing off the B-bender backplate was priceless.
I was born in 61,,jack your music will be timeless,,Thank you

Jack White is a Rock & Roll legend and a Modern Rock hero all in one.
Super cool. I love all of Jack’s inventions. The one that still sticks with me is the hollow body single cut away, that ye made into a double cut and added a ball and biscuit or bullet mic on a retractible spool, within the body. Just wild.
beautiful! can't help watching Jack playing guitar
The sounds he makes come out of a guitar.... mesmerizing.... literally the only person I care to see live.
well now i know what i want for christmas.! i love that Jack keeps innovating technologically and sonically.
I love how he is such a student of the craft and is always reinventing everything.
He sucks. Is the most overrated guitar player and terrible guitar player I’ve ever heard
That's one of the most badass guitars I've ever seen.
Hey Jack, you Renaissance man! This is like the Swiss Army knife of guitars.
Ok mind blown nothing like seeing that, being humbled and dreaming of gadgets and greatness
Wow, the engineering of all that stuff is pretty damn cool. Looks great with the white too! I'd love to see a production version of this!
This guys is a Freaking genius.
When the white stripes came out with a few hit songs I thought to myself , well he’s nothing really special - guitar drums power chords a cool look a chick drummer . I thought he would have to evolve into something special cause that act wouldn’t last very long. There are only so many hit songs you can write and perform on stage with guitar and drums without sounding redundant. And He most certainly did. His gear and his sound ,and his tone and his creations are now so unique. He has his own DNA print now in rock n roll.
You know when Jeff beck is playing you know when Clapton and Hendrix and Van Halen are playing - well you now know when jack white is playing too. Wow I’m floored. His guitar is going to be well sought after axe. I know I want one - very cool mods and all are very useable too.
If you'd heard TWS's first album or their non-single tracks you wouldn't have thought he was "nothing really special." Jack White was an innovative guitarist and songwriter with a unique perspective on both music and the guitar as an instrument from the very first album he put out.
Awesome and fun.
Thanks, Jack.
Love the way Jack constantly mods his guitars
Man that guitar is pretty sick. love the drop d lever.
I barely know a chord or two but I would spend my weekends sitting in the corner of your studios keeping quiet and soaking in all the stuff you guys do. And I would probably practice guitar more once I get home. Please give us more videos, so at least this way we feel a step closer to you. Thanks for all the good music and keeping the rock alive. Bless you!
Learn all chords and chord progressions for starting.Cheers.
@@user-be9ey4jb3c All the chords???
@@FirstnameLastName-mr8lk well i mean all basic chords.
This is crazy hood I love all this bands racounters everthing
Wow, this guitar looks amazing and like it could do it all.
LJ has a really cool voice when singing, just a hint if you’re recording more raconteurs stuff
man the ceiling fan reflected in the guitar is strangely hypnotic
I'm so happy to see Jack, it's been a while!!!
We need more of this !
There's never too much Black, Jack. Other than that love it.
Agreed... looks way cooler with the black hardware throughout!
How a furniture maker became one of the best guitar players and songwriters of our time is beyond me, but I'm not questioning the end result.
the how is simple; practice and passion
I’ll give you the furniture maker...
you need to listen to more guitar players lmao
@@jukeboxfandango he’s definitely a good songwriter tho. Theyre not humming the chorus of 7 nation army around the world for nothing.
Some might say the same about Jesus.
There is it! I was looking for this video all my weekend
He will never stop
the man is insane! and thank god we get to share a planet with him.
This guitar looks like the only guitar you'd ever need, until the next one comes along.
The yellow with black was absolutely stunning with all the black gear on it. This is like the swiss knife od guitars, i love it
Love the guitar and love Jack and Brendan "The Raconteurs"
Narrator: "They did not, in fact, cut the dogs out in post."
Man. This guy has such a deep understanding of guitars ! Not many like that. Eddie Van Halen had that kind of insight as well, if there are not enough frets, bend it a little bit.
I could listen to him ALL DAY
Wow! That is absolutely brilliant!
Jack White is the legend of our era!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏
This blew me away, the drop D switch is genius,I wonder if anyone will attempt a replica
they've been around for a while.
I'm sure I remember a thing in a guitar magazine back in the 90s which was a series of similar switches, one for each string. Each one had three positions (I think - this is one read of a single article at least 25 years ago!) so you'd tune to your tuning of choice, then each string had two extra tunings which could be switched to on the fly.
Although I imagine, if you wanted to regularly bounce back and forth between standard and DADGAD (or whatever), you'd fairly rapidly lose tuning (if not strings) and need to retune normally anyway...
Just been and looked it up: it was the Hipshot Trilogy.
Looks interesting, but I feel like I'd want to fit it to a cheapo guitar - one picked up specifically for such experiments - to get the measure of it before it goes anywhere near an instrument I actually care about.
Pretty sure evh was the one who innovated that
This is awesome.
I love this guy! The pride of southwest Detroit. A legend in the 'hood. Rock on Jack.
His record pressing plant up there is one of the best in the country.
Literally the coolest guitar ever
Huge fan love Wayfairing Stranger from Cold Mountain. Would love to visit your shop in Nashville. I very much respect how much of a musical historian you are. Best wishes
Check out "Never far away", same soundtrack.
Still waiting for a Cold Mountain sequel lol..
I’m obsessed with this guitar
this is one of the most insane guitars I've ever seen and I want one
I have no idea about guitars. I like the d thing and the b thing. Also. Black On the arm rest part. God if I took care of myself like that guitar is taken care of, I'd probably have a boyfriend or two. SICK :)
this guitar is rapidly become the next Frankenstein and Van Halen would be proud af
EVH would have no time for all of these features. He would have ripped out everything but the bridge pickup and volume knob.
@@Hulkhoagie1 yeah I'm sure you know Eddie better than Jack did lol
@@lazylion420 Lol did you ever see any of Van Halen's guitars? He was all about simplicity. This is a crazy cool guitar that works for Jack White. It's not something EVH would use.
Wtf are you talking about? I don't need to know EVH to have watched his videos and see the guitars he played. You go find me a link to a video of EVH rocking out on a 3 pickup B-bender and prove me wrong.
@@Hulkhoagie1 EVH gave Jack White a couple of guitars during his life and they bonded over their shared pursuit of tone and customization. it's pretty well documented. I don't know why you're getting your panties in a bunch...
Fabulous piece of kit.
Nice-perfect video for this evening
"this is a cut off switch"
*Tom Morello has entered the chat*
He's aged so well from the white stripes time to this day
Beautiful
I NEED this Guitar in my life
I saw this guitar on his SNL performance a few weeks ago. Looked like he’s done a few things since
I always loved the work Jimmy Page did with his brown Tele b / bender. Listen to the live 77 tour Ten Years Gone - Sounded amazing. It’s interesting how Jack keeps streamlining it and removing the clutter of what he doesn’t need or use. Personably I’d go for the simple Jimmy Page type one. Cool nonetheless
Page used the b-bender Telecaster on the Stones' "One Hit" solo, too.
That is the ultimate Jack White guitar. A unique and amazing
☺️😊 "It's a work in progress" I wouldn't want to stop working on improving what I love to do 😊 I'm pretty sure Jack White will play & create & with with ideas as long as he lives 😊🙏🌱
They still didn't cut the dogs out in post...
In short, you need a Tele cos it's a real $%^king guitar.
I can even forgive the lace sensor in the bridge (probably great for stage use.) That 70's WRH Fender humbucker in the neck is amazing (popular with Sonic Youth, Keith Richards, Black Crowes, getting hard to find these now.)
I've found that some newer Teles come with a humbucker size route at the neck. I removed the pickguard with factory single coil and popped in a pickguard loaded with a Seymour Duncan Fat Cat (humbucker size P90) and it sounds awesome. As for the WRH Fender humbucker, I have a couple Squiers with them. Very sweet.
I have a tele, strat, g2627t, and a mustang, tele gets played more than the other three combined by a long shot!
This absolutely blew my mind
Beautiful 😻
sounds a little like Tuesday's gone to me.. well, a lottle.
That's what I thought too!
Like exactly...gotta be co writer thing with Skynyrd
I laughed out loud at this. Must be the most outrageous guitar ever. Leave it to Jack. Thanks for posting this. Now I gotta have one. Even if I wouldn’t know how to use it.
jack is fucking awesome. something i wish there would be videos of, addition to this guitar of jacks, is that tom morello has a black and red ibanez semi hollow with effects pedals BUILT INTO IT. he plays it on guerrilla radio, and a song he did with cypress hill several years ago, but other than that he doesn't really play it. i don't understand why, as a guitar having pedals BUILT INTO IT is the most tom morello thing i've ever heard of in my life
Jack your a genius love all of your work/ music 👍
That's one intimidating beautiful instrument
guys being dudes
And dudes being guys
people being human
This should be featured in the next Star Wars movie.
So cool!
That thing probably weighs 48 pounds, but that's freaking awesome. The drop D thing is awesome!
The original color was much better imo.
Probably about as much as your standard Les Paul - ie a fuck ton.
This is the weirdest found footage hostage movie I've ever seen
That is a masterpiece.
What an amazing guitar and setup
That's the sort of guitar that Homer Simpson would design.
So we’re just pretending this “Somedays” song ISN’T “Tuesday’s Gone”??????
More like “Simple Man” in the beginning but it’s very different as the song goes on.
@@theblackheart5727 not really
@@ethanmanning938 it isn't
I thought initially Tuesday's Gone was about to play
That Drop D switch is absolutely killer
Holy hell. That bridge is amazing.
When you spend far more time customising your guitar than composing new songs
"There was too much black on the guitar.." well, THAT was a nonsensical statement.
Awesome watch
Sounds amazing
I love this guitar for the versatility
wow that is a really interesting design/modification process. Wild!! The thing looks fun to play.
I just love him so much 💜
Dude, that´s Insane...
Amazing. What a talent.
His voice has a soothing asmr quality
This is amazing I never even knew about a hipshot with a drop d switch that is wicked
The future is always evolving even if its a guitar inspiring! Love both colors.. understand simplifying the crowding...
Very cool. I really did not need any new ideas... but yet, here I am.
