- Testing out some new formats, I realize this feels low energy so whoops! But going forward these will be more varied in topics covered and footage seen. This one is just about anthuriums and repotting them. I hope its not to boring. If you wanna see topics discussed in future iterations please let me know in the comments.

Matt, you’re a joy to watch. I love to hear your random thoughts on each plant. It makes me think we’re learning together. It’s just fun. Also, when you were telling about your baby pulling plants down-I was thinking “this is why we can’t have nice things!” 😂 I stayed to the end to get the best tips! ❤
Awesome and thank you for sticking around and the kind words!
Definitely would hang out and listen to you ramble and do plant chores. I enjoy the lower energy for the evenings and since my partner works an opposite schedule, I always have UA-cam videos on so it's almost like I still have company. I'm usually "plantying" anyway so it would be perfect!
Ditto!
Great vibe as usual, and enjoying the longer videos, it makes nice background. Very chill.
Glad to hear I wasn't sure how this would be precieved
Had no idea that weeds harbored pests, these videos are perfect man. Youre hard on yourself but your content is amazing for those of us actual plant nerds. Some of the info you give is invaluable!
Thanks for the kind words! Yeah I just notice that i find spider mites and aphids on the weeds but not always the plant but they use those weeds as a base to go elsewhere to plants they do love to eat
Totally enjoyed your replants and cleaning. Could you hear me shout, "put it in a bigger pot"?🤣🤣🤣 keep making chore videos, you get stuff done and we get entertainment and learn something.💚
lol, i think i should have because they are in shock right now and it wont be long before i do it again
I love this, no complaints about low energy here. Just calm and easy to relax to!
Awesome thanks!
I liked the repot and ramble! To be honest I'm only watching because I have to do my plant chores too, and I'm looking for anything specific during these videos. If I ever have a specific question about a plant , I would look for a different type of video that is about 5 to 10 minutes and could direct me pretty quickly. These are great because I will always learn something new without the panic of having to know right now. And I feel like you could talk about anything during these, and I will learn something every time 🙂.
glad to know!
Always learn something new from your videos. Giving me the information to do a better job at troubleshooting my problem plants. May your plants grow healthy and happy.
thanks for the kind words! glad i can be helpful!
look forward to more repotting ramblings 👍
glad to hear
I'm a fan of the garden chore videos!
Ill be doing many more!
Handsome fella with a nice voice doing plant chores whats not to loveeeee
Thanks, appreciate the kind words!
I'm on year four of being a plant geek and your bit about plant matter in the soil is something I've always wondered. I like to think any bits of roots or other dried parts just add to the soil so long as they're past the point of being a decay risk. Seeing and hearing about you doing this was reassuring; there's probably data our there suggesting one way or the other but for now I'll keep with it!
Also, have you even entertained the idea of zoom calls or some sort of group video with other viewers sometime? Like a plant hangout where a group of us can work on plants, chat and share our plant BDP's and pro tips. There can be a lot to this type of format, but something worth expressing interest about in case others in the channel have as well!
I am constantly looking for your videos at night, so thank you for this lolol
Hope you enjoy!
I live in Ohio and my winter humidity is 25-40%, my velvet anthuriums wouldn’t win any beauty awards. But they’re robust and healthy, and always give me consistent growth and have at times kept 10+ leaves at once. I’d be happy to give you some tips.
nice im up for tips!
Like you, I'm eagerly anticipating seeing my seedlings grow into their full size, begin to produce inflo, and perhaps even attempt to create some hybrids, even though this would take a very long time.
Also, I totally agree with your predictions on plants! Anthuriums are the focus of 2023, and hybrid Philodendrons will be the focus of 2024. I recently came across some pictures of Philo J.buono crossed with Philo Fat Belly and a Philo F.beauty, crossed with Philo Tortum being offered online on facebook. I believe both plants are from Indonesia.
yeap its going to be big! im excited and maybe by 2024 i can start breeding them too if i get enough mature philos
Matt I love your videos I looked up that hybrid anthurium you were talking about with the curly flower it's called "Pig Tail" Keep making these videos because they are entertaining and educational at the same time. I watch everything you upload so keep em coming fellow plant guy 💚🌿💯
Will do! Thanks for the support!
I really enjoy your videos. I’ve watched every one of them. And I stay awake. I love your anthuriums, the ones with the long skinny leaves. Congratulations on the baby.
Your live was really cool!! I enjoyed watching it.
Thanks so much!!
good video love the spray and pray remark in regards to watering - very funny and if you have a lot of plants it's hard to check each one for moisture content. I also fill my pots too full without space to water I know I shouldn't but I can't stop myself when I repot.
drives me nuts but i do it over and over again
Really enjoyed this! I think plant chore videos are so popular because you can watch while doing your own plant chores (usually puts you in the mood to do it!) or have them in the background while you do other things. Looking forward to more from you; i hope you got a decent sleep!
Yeah I will be making many more as time goes on
Down for the late night rambling and repotting. All us plants folks are going thru the same stuff! I've learned so much from other people so I didn't have to make their mistakes. That information is invaluable! Really appreciate the extra content...thanks
Thanks! Always happy to hear when it's helpful
More of these Matt! great video!
I'm not owed a plant, but I would take one. 😁
"Spray and pray"🤣💚
lol
Great video man! Love the verity of videos you put out. Some suggested topics... 1. How’d you get into plants/ how’d you get so many. 2. Plant community dos & don’ts; like when trading & selling. 3. Plant trends you see for 2023 & 2024. 4. What you wish you knew in the beginning of collecting plants. 5. Top 5 plants on your wishlist. 6. Top 5 plants you think are overrated/ underrated. Keep up the great content. Maybe we can trade plants one day haha 😉
Yes to more plant chore videos. I like the late night chill ramblings vibe too since I seem to opt to watch these at a crisp 12am. Could honestly have watched another hour of you repotting the second half you didn't get to in this video. Maybe with an oiled chair next time around lol.
ill oil it up lmao
Wanna go botanize in the wild in WI this Spring? I've got some plans to explore some peat bogs.
sounds fun, hit me up on isntagram techplant.official
I loved every second of this video, exactly what I need on anxious days like today
That seed pod, I'm not sure if it's the same but when I was a kid, a lot of those grows in my area. we used to throw those into water canals and watch them pop hahah very nostalgic.
I too had some trouble with anthuriums. What worked for me was to use pure sphag as their substrate.
Would you do better/quicker watering the trays that the seedlings are in and bottom watering them all, like people do with vegetable seedlings in a greenhouse? You can use wicking Mat underneath the pots with a reservoir if you didn’t want them to sit in water when you go away too
I agree but some are crooked the way they sit on the grate so they arent level and certain plants would be soaked while others dry im working on a way to level them out
Really enjoying this video. From the ramblings, would love to know how to do a plant trade with you, what if we dont' have fancy plants to trade, you have a shop for plants? Would also love to know more about the medium you're using. Its really re assuring to see your set up and feel good that i get anything to grow at all.
Your channel is pretty cool 😎.
Yeah I myself love to grow plants in really well draining soil, when it comes to "spraying and praying" I don't really worry about that too much just because I grow all my plants in clear planters so I can closely monitor them.
I need to get some cleat pots!
@@TechplantChannel Clear Solo cups get the job done (as starter pots), yes there is a little work to get them to be functional but they work amazing and are cheap.
I use clear cups also for partially rooted cuttings
Hi. I used to fill to the top and learned not to! Good tip. Have you tried putting small pebbles on your trays, setting the pots on top of the pebbles and keeping water in the trays? Good experiment if nothing else.Do you have more anthurium seeds?
Yeah I just got a bunch more
@@TechplantChannel can I order some from you? where do you get them?
Told you, this format is much better.
ill have to start making more lol
@@TechplantChannel yes make more, they love you when you're doing candid reactions about just anything..
i also stopped filling a pot all the way up after wetting entire floor. 😆
Yup I do it on a nightly basis
yes
This is better than the Joe Pera talks you to sleep! Super chill
I love your videos Matt. Keep it up.
Hook it up with an Umbricola! Lol
? It is 3am here and time to do work. The day only has 36hrs, so no time to sleep. But surly enough time to watch the video...WITHOUT ad blocker.
lol i just realized if the FBI came into your house n saw ur basement the first thing theyd think is DRUGS!
Night night sweet dreams
Lol night night
OMG, dont put the weed back again 😬😱 It stressed me out 😆
Thanks for the Anthurium lesson 👌🙏🌿

Would love to own some of your plants 🥲
Lemon tree update !!!

The aphid killing technique needs a patent, rotfl. I like the long format videos
Kill your aphids with the DropAndStomp® technology
Greatly appreciate this type of content! 🌿💚
Also, next time, show the watering after?
Sure!

Should I go full asmr. Also happy to see you in the comments it's been a long time!!! Hope you are doing well
