I just rewatched the plant shop documentary, and it reminded me how much I miss Ben in your videos. He's just so cool. So yeah Ben, you should totally get around to do the scammer video! :D
Ben! Ben! Ben! Thank you for the honest both good and bad of being a content creator. You, Summer, other planty peeps that make it look VERY EASY. Keep up great work!
Im glad your around. I had to start all over in my late 40s. And let me tell you, I love you, your tough, your beautiful, and how classy you have been standing up for the little guy 😍. And you've helped me through some tough struggles and stress. So let's give this beautiful lady a hand for being awesome 😎👏
As someone who watches plant videos it gets pretty monotonous when most people do similar videos and have mostly the same plants. I watch about 3 plant UA-cam channels regularly but it’s mainly due to interest in their other areas of their life such as you with your horse, some people with families and relocating, and people who are gardening and expanding every year. It’s hard to be original with plant content so if you start a channel it should include mixed content. Plus the amount of “hacks” people try usually don’t come with follow up videos or admittance to it not working.
Love your perspective on being a UA-camr. I’ve been grinding and grinding for a year and it’s been so hard, even if I am so happy with my small success. I love this channel for the plant info, the fun stories & also bc I’ve learned a lot from you about your struggles and perspective as a UA-camr. I’m a small channel a little less than 10k subs but I can relate to things you talk about and it makes me feel less alone.
Sorry about the queen kaylee. She’s beautiful and it’s such a shame. Will look for props in the future as she’s such a cutie and it will be great for these to be passed around ❤ Thank you for explaining the import process and why the roots are so bad! It’s explains why the roots are normally dead no matter how quickly the shipping has occurred.
Thanks so much for answering the youtube question so honestly! I appreciate your perspective and you did answer it very realistically. Thanks for sharing :)
Thank you for being so honest about the actual reality of being a content creator. To us on this side of the screen it looks glamorous and easy, but it clearly takes a LOT of work to make it look so easy (hopefully that makes sense 🤣). And as someone who career changed into horticulture, it really reasonated the comment about being careful as sometimes it can just become work even when you love what you do.
I’m glad I found online today I have been benging watching several of your videos I’m glad to hear you again you’re very informative I get a lot of information from you. You have been a great teacher not many teachers on UA-cam. I do appreciate you and your videos. I believe I could listen to you all day everyday. I lost track I was getting your videos then not so much, it seems like I’m getting you videos more now like I did several years ago Thanks for you videos I can’t seem to get enough I love it when you ID plants etc and explain about their care and what to look for and price too at times ❤
I always love your repot videos so much, mainly for validating the shared feeling of "Will this work? Will it die? Who knows, guess we'll find out!" while working with our more prized or expensive plants
Gosh the gradient on that leaf was beautiful - you shouldve done a leaf pressing or something like that, that would've been a beautiful thing to frame on your wall in your new home!
I’ve found queens do NOT like to be under watered at all…they like fairly even moisture at all times, but they also need a very well draining substrate. They also prefer temps in the 70s-80s F. They hate inconsistency and change. Basically once you have their conditions right, leave them alone. If you have to mess with them do it quickly and carefully. Only change one thing at a time. They’re big babies and I would say A. Luxurians is easier to care for. Even A. Splendidum…as long as you keep it in 90-100% humidity with relatively stagnant air (terrarium conditions) it’s happy. 😂
I will always prefer UA-cam content instead over something else. Yes, sometimes it’s quite relieving to watch some nonsense 15 seconds videos, but I love to spent my morning or evening with coffee or dinner and watch my favorites. It’s like a ritual. And I can’t get than from short stuff. And by saying that, I really want to thank you for your content. I appreciate the time and effort you spend in it! I Love your honest opinions and statements. That’s what makes someone authentic! Keep going. 2023 will be better 💪🏻💕
The queens do generally enjoy coolish weather. That’s potentially one of the reasons for the leaf yellow. But I think could be a survival type thing. I seem to get issues like that when it gets warmer than they like. Just my two cents worth
I started watching plant videos in fall 2018. The only channels I found at that time were Planterina, Brooklyn Homestead, Kaylee Ellen and Crazy Plant Guy
I love you Kaylee Ellen. I'm starting to have some good luck, I hope things go better for you too. We're super strong women. Yes Ben, get on it, we need the tea.
I got my love of plants from my Grandma, I swear she had, not just a 'Green Thumb' but all 10 fingers, hands & arms. I never knew her 2 loose a plant ever! She encouraged my love of plants. I wish I had Inherited her skills with them as well but .... Where does ur love of plants originate from? Love ur channel❣🤎
I just released a Q&A video and I addressed that my channel has felt a drop lately… thought I was alone in this, or maybe I have done something wrong… wondering if others are experiencing the same.
When you pot up the dragon cuttings do you leave the leaf on? Just wondered because I have a Florida Ghost that needs propagating and I wondered if it was better to leave the older leaf or remove it to give the cuttings a better chance for the growth energy to go into the cutting and not maintaining the older leaf.
Ben..... Get Kaylee the information and documents she needs. Really love the video and have been looking for a blue oil fern in the US. They are so hard to find. ☺
Hi kaylee! I’ve been a subscriber for a long time and had been watchimg your videos since even before then, from here in Turkey. I love your content, love everything you stand for. I know you may not see this but I didn’t know how else I could maybe reach you. I don’t know if you’ve seen, but there have been two massive earthquakes affecting 10 cities here in Turkey, thousands of lives have been lost and/or destroyed. It would be amazing if you could even just give a shoutout for us, because as you know the media forgets easily and we don’t know how much it’s being covered. Any awareness helps. Your videos are always a comfort through tough times. Thank you for all your hard work. I’m sorry for the very long message, if you’ve even seen this 🙏🏼 Lots of love from Turkey ❤️🌈🙏🏼
UA-cam is rough, even if it isn't your job. Sometimes you spend hours upon hours on a video, and it's easy to start thinking "people better watch this!". Our real job also used to be a hobby, and I think it's a matter of managing your expectations. Are you willing to let the thing you love lose some of its luster, but in exchange your job (it will feel like a job, as much as you love it) will always be connected to something you love
People actually do know what the algorithm is on UA-cam - it likes videos that are 10-15 min and will promote up to 3 videos per day for your channel. You also cannot swear in the first few minutes of the video or it will be demonetized. It should be pretty easy to look up algorithm info about it. UA-cam is actually considered one of the easiest ways to grow an online platform. Perhaps not in the plant space but as a general rule (especially in America) UA-cam is king. Yes it takes a lot of hard work and time, but it’s a far better platform than Instagram, Facebook, etc. Many creators actually surpass cable TV views in the US (especially news/commentary channels and sports commentary channels).
Is it possible to help get an id and price estimation for a uncommon sport variegation? I found what appears to be 2 varigated Thaumatophyllum bipinnatifidum , what do those tend to go for these days?
Kaylee k lo e h and your vidos where can I buy your plant i BB want one of the blue plastic it's nog sure of the name it I'm Jeannie from Wisconsin please tell where I fan buy your plants god bless u and love u
That’s the thing tho most of us don’t wanna be RICH UA-camrs. I know if I wanted to do it it would just be cool to have this job rather than work for someone else and spend all my time at work away from my family. I would love to talk about something I love and make it work because at least I’m working hard at something I’m interested in. The problem is putting in the time to get this up and running while still working and being a mom and dog mom.
Ben's too busy buying weird plants for Kaylee to rate 🤣 I really loved that video
Yesss that video was so fun
BEN… GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER! We want all the tea ☕️
I just rewatched the plant shop documentary, and it reminded me how much I miss Ben in your videos. He's just so cool. So yeah Ben, you should totally get around to do the scammer video! :D
I love it when Ben makes an appearance! You two should definitely do the scammer video together!
Can I ask where do I access the plant shop documentary
BEN! GIVE US THE TEA! AND PLEASE BE IN THE VIDEO EXPLAINING IT! MAKE IT INTERVIEW STYLE!

Ooh interview style! Yes, please!!

Ben! We need those screenshots!
Good luck with that queen Kaylee. Hope it works, he's beautiful. I'm determined to have one of my own some day.
Really really love the honesty surrounding making a UA-cam channel. Everything you said makes complete sense!
Gosh the gradient on that leaf was beautiful - you shouldve done a leaf pressing or something like that, that would've been a beautiful thing to frame on your wall in your new home!
Will your feed be available in the US

Ben, you heard the lady. Get going!
I remember when you got that Queen, so beautiful 😍 I’m thinking it may just be root bound. Fingers crossed all three cuts make it! 🤞🏽💚💚💚

Honestly. To sum it all up. Thanks for the real talk. ❤
Where do you get the clear bins that your plants are sitting in? Love your videos!

Watching this vid is the only thing this day that have been able forget about my work anxiety for tomorrow xD

What do you think about good soil microbes? They don't seem to live in leca, does that matter? As a beginner hobbyist, I am thinking about this.
plant wishlist 2023!!

Is it possible to help get an id and price estimation for a uncommon sport variegation? I found what appears to be 2 varigated Thaumatophyllum bipinnatifidum , what do those tend to go for these days?

Chaos and dirt is more relatable than aesthetics. If I started a UA-cam channel, that's what I'd call it. Chaos and Dirt. 🤣
Thoroughly enjoying a UK channel.
