Why you need an aerator

I didn't know what the heck an aerator was until I heard it from a friend. Their energy company went through and replaced each aerator in his house with a higher efficiency aerator to help him conserve water and save money. This is a super simple task that any beginning DIYer can take on.

Technical correction. Faucet attachments like aerator don't increase water pressure. They reduce water pressure whilst increasing water velocity

A bathroom faucet with no aerator on it is the greatest thing ever. Every house should have at least one faucet that doesn't have an aerator. You ever turned on a faucet on the other end of the house from the water heater with an aerator on it and try to get some hot water out of it?

Yes, it takes about 5 minutes for it to warm-up 😫

I remove them. They make the water pressure too low.

There's pluses and minuses to everything!! With the low-flow, now it slows the hot water too, so now it takes longer to it to get 'hot'. ;) EDIT: Therefore not saving water like half (30% maybe?) the time.

My aerator is absolutely destroying my water pressure, i can barely even brush my teeth. I’ve removed it and it’s a huge improvement... for some reason this isn’t common knowledge and you don’t need a plumber.

Aerators are worthless all they do is make it take longer to do anything when I fill a sink I'm filling to a certain level so a minute or 2 without a aerator 5+ minutes with a areator there's no saving water to it all it does is makes anything take longer

There are pieces of toilet paper and small things in the water…That is more to stop all the that from getting in your drink..There are videos on how to fix clogged aerators..
