Thanks for the bit about adjusting the pinlock. Lost my instructions. Had forgotten you could adjust that. My visor was coming up at the bottom and letting in fog. The trick allowed for a seal. Appreciate that detail.
Hi Richie, just to add, the visor is made of a very flexible material. So instead of forcing the pinlock to fit into the other pin, will just degrade it and may deform the gaps where it fits in the pins while trying to install or remove it. Instead, just bend the visor a bit towards the outside, so you only need to put in minimal effort to push the pinlock lens into the correct position.
I honestly didnt know pin loc was adjustable thank u so much for s9me reason my pin loc visor was loose never had that happen in the past 6years ive been using pin loc.
The trouble is, a quick breath on the visor to check for fogging comes nowhere near the real world experience of riding in the pissing down rain. I've owned 4 helmets over the years with pinlock inserts fitted - 2 Shoeis and 2 Arais - and without exception they all fogged up between the insert and visor when riding in the rain. Adjusting the fiddly pins made no difference, and demisting a visor fogged up in this way is a right bastard. Why the hell they can't come factory sealed to the visor I don't know.
The Uvex-Company used to have really efficient antifog coating on their visors. As much as I wonder how hard it is for other manufacturers to get that working, I wonder why the heck Uvex stopped making helmets for motorcyclists at all.
Hello Richie. Thanks for another very informative video. I’m just now looking up information I previously didn’t need to know, as I lived in a hot country. I have a Shoei RAID II, which came with a Pinlock insert which I just recently installed (I’m now living in England). I found 2 problems with this Pinlock. 1. It is not even close to the size of the visor, so the top bead is right in front of my eyes. 2. When I go very slowly, or stop, in cold weather, my visor still fogs up a lot, resulting in having to open the visor. Is this perhaps common only to the older Shoei’s and their Pinlocks? Ive had my Raid II for about 7 years (and don’t know the actual year of manufacture), but it’s not had a great deal of use, about 8000Km over about 4 years in South Africa, and now only a couple of hundred miles over the last few months in England. I realise that I’m replying to an old video posting, so I don’t know if you’ll even see this post, but I hope that you do, and that you’ll reply. Many thanks, in anticipation and hope.
Damn these blasted movie mistakes... showbiz isn't all it's made out to be! On a more serious note, though. The cardboard Pinlock sleeve comes from a sealed plastic bag. I doubt it had become very dusty in the few moments it had been on the counter top. Also, why repeat the cleaning process after it has already been cleaned? Each to their own method, though.
I installed the product on my visor. It went well. Thank-You. Question: Once installed, should/can I leave it on permanently? Or rather, should it be removed when the warm weather returns?
It’s not that simple, when the pin lock moves and you have a little gap in there you whole visor fogs up and trust me to get to fill that little gap so air don’t get inside is a hustle, if you have short fuse and gets very angry easy I recommend you not to try to fix it other wise you end up breaking your whole help, that’s how pissed off I got trying to fix my one, luckily I didn’t break my helmet but I had thoughts 😂
@@quintosh I’ve got 2 helmets with pin locks and 2 without. Yes they are anti fog but they compromise clarity of vision. Think I was having a bad day when I wrote that!

First video I found showing clearly which side should go against the visor. Great content!
straight forward clear cut demo and explanation, good presentation.
I didn't know the pins were inserted from the outer face of the shield. It would be good to mention that in the otherwise stellar instructional video.
Thanks for the vid mate. Very helpful. But, ya might wanna take off the protective film first, before breathing on it to see if it works... 😂 👍🏻

my visor now sits a bit lifted on the edges is this normal?
Just got an AGV k3 and installed the pinlock provided in the box. But i can see 2-3 glares. Any way to fix that?
Could be that it has been set up too tightly. Try removing the lens, adjusting the pins and trying it again.
Good ass tutorial thanks homies
you made it look easy, thanks!
You're welcome! :)
my instructions say this can be removed and cleaned with soap and water?
It worked nicely originally but last year I found that the pin lock lens now has this weird vein like structure on it.
Is pinlock len not recommended to be worn at night? Or it is depends on riders?
As long as your visor is fitted with a clear Pinlock lens (and not a smoke version) there is no problem.

3:08 you put the visor down silicone strip facing down so could collect dust from Pinlock packaging
4:01 you didn't reclean the inside of the visor before again inserting PinLock

You're welcome, glad to hear it went well! You can definitely leave it on, most people do that anyway.
Thanks, mucho appreciado!
How do you remove it?
Thanks, all is easy now!
Thanks, bro!

Hi. I want to buy a thousand of this product. Is there anyone who can bring or send tax free? Location Turkey Istanbul
Thumb up!
👍
Did you say fog up or fuck up ?!! 😅
Who can tell? I'm a strange guy...
Watching this in 2023
Pin lock. Complete waste of time and money.
Why do you think so, Richard?
You've obviously never tried it then. It helps a lot when riding in chilly weather and in rain so the inside doesnt fog up.
