I had a sinus infection a few weeks ago. I caught a very mild cold from one of our other employees. Normally I just get better within two days. I didn't even feel bad enough to stay home from work. But while at work, where I was delivering feed and hay somewhere, it rained pretty hard and it was cold out. I think that combo gave my immune system a punch because right after I was getting over the cold, I got my sinus infection. The sinus infection was 100x worse than the cold. I had to miss Christmas. My lips got so chapped that they were crusted completely white. Losing sleep was the worst thing. Right now I'm mostly over it but the sinuses in my head are still a little plugged. At least I can sleep now.
Ive had a Sinus infection twice now and my first time was 100x worse than the second time. My first infection lasted over a month and the second lasted maybe 8 days. You should take plenty of steamy showers,plenty of sleep and nasal irrigation with a neti pot.Also take de congestion tablets like sudafed to relax your sinus so the green slime is constantly dripping out of your nose. I think the key to getting rid of the infection is to make sure your sinus are open as much as possible throughout the day and once they are open breathe in some eucalyptus and or tee tree oil,put it on your clothes and on your pillow so you are constantly breathing it in. After doing all of this after about day 5 i could start eating properly and not feeling as lethargic as compared to the first 3 days. Also take ibuprofen for the facial swelling and pain this helps with getting sleep and feeling more comfortable. I think going forward if you feel that one or both of your nostrils are blocked IMMEDIATELY get something to help you get decongested, sudafed nasal spray or tablets help great. The infection starts when your sinsus are blocked and cannot drain so do sinus facial massages also to try drain the sinus these help great.

Every time I lean my head over I smell rotting dead fish and yellow fluid comes out of my right nostril only. 3 out of 4. No loss of smell or a diminished smell. I do have ear pain, feeling that i need to pop my ears and tinnitus. Been almost 2 weeks.. looks like I need to make a doctor's appointment
Noone even touches having a sinus that is completely blocked and prevents you from breathing at all, like... Nothing is getting through there, not even Afrin. i started having really bad anxiety out of nowhere on october 13th and so i found a local mental health place where i live. but they told me that because the anxiety came on very suddenly and also has only happened one other time in my life that its most likely a symptom of a medical condition. they told me it sounds like im having a sinus problem (i did not know that a sinus issue could cause crippling anxiety) but any ways once they said that i told them that i have had a deviated septum sense i was like 8 years old (im 25) and i asked would that be something to worry about and they said yes. so we started looking at sinus infection as a cause. the problem is i only have a few symptoms of sinus infection. im coughing up a ton of clear/white, solid white and sometimes yellow mucus, the bags under my eyes seem to be swollen, im getting headaches that feel like they are behind my left eye and also in between my eyes. it has not come out my nose nearly as much as it has my throat and i have no tenderness in my face. i also have smell and only mild congestion. idk what to think cuz it seems to me that the i dont have a sinus infection but i cant get to the doctor will the 14th of dec

I had facial swelling, teeth hurt, ears too..They say a CT scan would help..without contrast..its been like this for over a month. What are your thoughts on the CT scan, my insurance might not cover this. Sometimes when I rub my itchy eyes the pain shoots to my teeth, frustrating!

Hi, I think I have a sinus infection. It’s causing me to hold something near my cheek bone and near my teeth also varying which nostril is blocked. Sort of feels like a dull ache. But my right eye is really irritated, it’s like dry and quite painful , bad when I blink. I’m not sure what light sensitivity really qualifies as light sensitivity (if that makes sense). I have similar symptoms. Mine all started after a tooth broke off. I presume some bacterial infection started and migrated quickly to the sinus. As dentist washed his hands of me after removing the broken tooth and said you need speak to your doctor. To be honest I got antibiotics as it was just scary having pain in the cheekbones and pain at back of one eye. I can’t recall last time I had a sinus infection. I’m On second round of augmentin ,… not sure if it’s doing much now. Before o thought it nearly got rid of it. I’m gonna try continue taking them couple more days then I’ve done about 10 days augmentin. With a one day break in there. Sinus infections are scary because they can cause a lot of pain and discomfort. We need better antibiotics to be developed going into the future as many are resilient to antibiotics now. At this point I really don’t know what to do. I’ve been battling with mucus, it comes out through my mouth. I had a sore throat but now my left nostril is leaking a little and it literally smells like poo. My wife even smelled my nose. No green coming out just watery. But it’s the smell that’s crazy. Any help?
Hi, I think I have a sinus infection. It’s causing me to hold something near my cheek bone and near my teeth also varying which nostril is blocked. Sort of feels like a dull ache. But my right eye is really irritated, it’s like dry and quite painful , bad when I blink. I’m not sure what light sensitivity really qualifies as light sensitivity (if that makes sense). But I think I have light sensitivity. I have a deviated septum. Which I assume is the main cause in all this. I’ve had these symptoms for 9 days and counting. Pls someone help
I have similar symptoms. Mine all started after a tooth broke off. I presume some bacterial infection started and migrated quickly to the sinus. As dentist washed his hands of me after removing the broken tooth and said you need speak to your doctor.

On second round of augmentin ,… not sure if it’s doing much now. Before o thought it nearly got rid of it. I’m gonna try continue taking them couple more days then I’ve done about 10 days augmentin. With a one day break in there. Sinus infections are scary because they can cause a lot of pain and discomfort. We need better antibiotics to be developed going into the future as many are resilient to antibiotics now. Some days I feel they help then suddenly feels like it’s still there

At this point I really don’t know what to do. I’ve been battling with mucus, it comes out through my mouth. I don’t know if it’s from my the back of my nose or my throat, it comes out in green, yellowish and sometime white and it comes out thick as well. It’s been going on for about two years. The doctor said it allergy but I don’t he’s right this time. I’ve taken different antibiotics but none has been able to work for me. The mucus comes out black/ brown sometimes. No cough, no pains just thick mucus. I notice my nose has one smell. I smell everything the same most especially body odor which wasn’t there before. Do you think I’m suffering from Sinuses? I forgot to mention, I did an X-ray from my face down to my chest but nothing has been found wrong with me. Pls can you assist me?
