Hi All, Based on the score of 21-2, 21-5 for CK against Howard Shu, I crunched some numbers based on the match scores at the BWF World Championships for Howard Shu vs. Chou Tien Chen, then Chou Tien Chen vs Viktor Axelson. By simply doing a points % of all the matches, and extrapolating the data for CK vs Viktor, by approximation, CK would not be able to get a single point on Viktor. (0.798 point in 42 rallies). my $0.02, you're welcome PS. useless approximation mathematics.
It’s always great to hear from players how they think on court and some of the tactics they use. Hope you get the chance to make these videos with other pros!
This was such an interesting video. And I loved how you set it up with the interview camera whilst the game footage was going on. The things I pick up on the most are the precise and composed footwork and the quality of shots toward the back of the court. The camera angle makes it easy to see how accurate those drives and clears to each rear corners are. Very impressive This is definitely the way to learn more about the sport and the intricate details needed to improve. Thanks and thanks to the pro player too 😁
Wow, that was so interesting had to watch twice most of it. Very rarely do we get to listen to the thoughts of professionals and it is inspiring! I would watch hours of that! Thank you 💪
its crazy, U.S #1 and within top 100 global Howard Shu compared to the average player is amazing. But then if you narrow it down to top 50/25/10, the gap in level becomes huge. There are just so many levels to this sport.
Interesting content. Was an amateur myself 35 years ago, could not continue because of my elbow, but love to watch badminton very much… I noticed as well that the round the head shots from Tai or Ratchanok or Akane are absolutely absurd. But they also have a very good backhand, that they hit across the whole court. There are interesting training videos that show how Tai works. Another good example is Tomoka Miyazaki, junior world champion women singles. She is so fast and powerful, yet looks so fragile. You have to begin very young, otherwise there is no way to get to pro level. As I said, great video, looking forward to the next ones…
Great content and useful tips. As a beginner my only focus now is to hit the shuttle. This content makes me understand how important is thinking ahead of the shot. Thank you CK.👍
Hey what he explained was probably the BEST explanation i heard on YT for single play. Can you have someone explain doubles ? I get singles very well and proper , but i cant seem to play doubles at all.
Love this video. Great effort from you and great insights from Howard. Just wondering, are you fully changing to 1000z, testing the waters, or sticking to 88d pro?
Interesting light setup, with the big light overhead in the middle of the court... is common to lose sight of the shuttle briefly for overhead shots as the shuttle passes the wide light?
They’ve always gone into my check in luggage which is padded with clothes. However, if you’re competing, I would maybe recommend having 2 or 3 rackets in a cloth racket bag and carry them on as carry-on in case your check-in doesn’t arrive? 😬
Hey, any news about when Yonex going to release the new 65z colors and if there are significant technology updates other than the color? I’d like to get the C-90 beige model and Kanta Tsuneyama hello model
I didn't fully listen to all the discussions. But one thing I noticed is the difference in physique/stamina. He is moving everywhere (and quickly) without getting tired whereas you struggled to follow his shots because you were not fast enough (probably got tired after a few rallies). In the end the one with the fresher legs will make the better shots
Did u sell your 88d pro? 😅 What is the spec u use for Nanoflare 1000z? 4u or 3u? I have been thinking to change from victor tkf to yonex nanoflare 1000z
When I was a kid around 8 years, I was sparring with Tommy Sugiarto but he was around teenager, not pro yet. I only got 1 point 😂, and he didnt play seriously
Viktor axelsen used to do youtube videos. But ever since the end of the pandemic hes too busy i guess? It would be great if u get a chance to play with him
I feel that when I am playing against a stronger opponent, I feel pressured to try those high-risks, high-reward shots. Otherwise, I lose in a normal rally. I feel like that's what An Se Young's opponents also feel when they have to fight her, we can see a lot more unforced errors than against other players.
all Pro player MUST have excellent quality in ALL aspects, speed stamina strokeplay fastthink drive net smash backhand dropshot every aspect, addition for doubles is the chemistry of the pair one of it if it just a so so, then please "delay" your dream to become Pro CMIIW ✌️
Absolutely for some players, nothing is turning up there. There is a guy he never keep track of scores. You check with him and he always has this dopy look…”I don’t know” he says. “Well, you are only 20 but you got a memory of a fish.” 😂😂😂
as far as i know in the US the amateur levels are A to E, A being the top. but in the pro scene there is a whole different stack within the pro level. long way to go if you tryna be the best of the best.
POV recording of the second game looks slightly worse than filming the game from third person perspevtive at the corner harder to perceive movement of players and shuttle

I will try and get more points next time 😂
You explained singles so well! I’ve watched many YT videos and i think your explanation was one of the best!
Could you explain doubles play as well ?
Can you add me into the equation I want to play….😣 I’m in San Diego
what racket were you using. it looked like the arcsaber 11

😂😂😂 I now need to try and play Viktor!!!! I need that point 😂💪💪
A fun exercise, but badminton scores are intransitives
I see room for improvement. What would we do without it?
@@rezhaadriantanuharja3389 this is for pure entertainment. In fact, no stats or data from any sports are transitive.
i don't think i will even get 1 point when playing CK Yew.
It’s always great to hear from players how they think on court and some of the tactics they use. Hope you get the chance to make these videos with other pros!

i'd like to see him go against Ginting, for his deception tactics
My ankles would break 😂
Preciously insightful to hear this analysis from a pros point of view
Glad you found this useful!

Glad it was helpful! I really enjoyed playing Howard too!
Howards an awesome guy, had the pleasure to play with him once ❤️
Always brings a smile to my face when you upload. Great content, keep it up!

10000%!! It’s incredible 🤯🤯
Not just this sport, in ANY professional sports.
I LOVE THIS SERIES! you learn so much from just playing a pro and seeing how they break you down 😆
Very insightful and humble advice from Howard 👍
He’s good isn’t it!! 😊😊😊💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

This was a absolutely brilliant idea and executed video
Great video, so interesting to hear from Howard, very cool of him to open up so much on the tactics pros use

that's the plan! Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video! Really good feedback from Howard Shu!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video. more of the badminton strategy for both singles and doubles would be awesome! Thank you!
More to come!
Loved it. Always wanted to do one such video 😃 Keep it up CK! 💪
Last point he mentioned was a very helpful tip
Thanks for the video, very entertaining and insightful reviews
Love this video. Great effort from you and great insights from Howard. Just wondering, are you fully changing to 1000z, testing the waters, or sticking to 88d pro?
Haha I’m not fully switching although they’re tempting 😂 the wallet or the wife might not like it 😂
Love your videos as always!
Glad you like them!
love your videos!!!! can i request a video of a budget friendly racket for pre amateur player. thanks
Interesting light setup, with the big light overhead in the middle of the court... is common to lose sight of the shuttle briefly for overhead shots as the shuttle passes the wide light?
It’s a sky light 😂 so not an actual light. We got used to very quickly 👌
This is great!!
7:26 That guy playing barefoot is like Baki Hanma, the real deal you should have played against.
😂😂
He was training his grandkid! 💪🏻💪🏻
Gotta love your content keep working❤
Thank you! Will do!
Hi CK, when you travel on flight, do you bring your racquets on board or check in? If check-in, any tips on safeguarding the frame?
They’ve always gone into my check in luggage which is padded with clothes. However, if you’re competing, I would maybe recommend having 2 or 3 rackets in a cloth racket bag and carry them on as carry-on in case your check-in doesn’t arrive? 😬

Great video

Nahhh i only brought 1 racket to Copenhagen 😂
Interesting video! What level would you say you were CK? A, B+ etc.
Haha, my Badminton England grading is now a G grade.. so yes....A, B, C, D, E, F, G....... 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Nice!!! Well i got 2 points here and yes, Howard was also just cruising in 1st gear 😂
Is there footage of the whole match?
That's every point from both games in the video 👌
Oh ok, thank you! I think you move really well on court, it's crazy to me that you say you're playing such a low league in UK
Ooh my good lord, he said it 😂😃 its like a chest. I normally call singles the physical chest.
Viktor axelsen used to do youtube videos. But ever since the end of the pandemic hes too busy i guess? It would be great if u get a chance to play with him
Never say never! I will try!

changing to 1000z ?
Not really.. it was the only racket I brought to Copenhagen so I played with it 😂
I beat a Thai pro who was top 10 before retirement a few yrs ago. 😊
Nice!!! Boonsak?
@@CKYew He was a Thai double player. lol
Did not know he was #1 us, I watched his Nanoflare 1000Z review when it release and subscribed then 😅
Never heard of howard, d grade talent
CK is quite good. Though Howard give chance.
The go pro POV was really hard to follow and confusing 😅
Howard was moving too fast! 💪💪💪
Howard's racket form has to be up.
Great job !
I feel the head camera distract from your discussion, i find it useless. Sorry bro :)
😂😂 that angle told me Howard was using a lot of his peripheral vision 👀👀
Yew calling himself as an amateur is an understatement. He is way better than a normal player.
I'm certainly an amateur 😂
@@CKYew The way you played against a pro player and having some rally is not easy in singles. You have improvised a lot man keep it up.

Become a pro haha

Yup, literally... as if you've won the lotterry first prize... 👏
usa badminton team is not at the right place as compare to other countries
in my opinion ,no hate to any country
Please don't use a head cam. We want to see the game from the first angle
