- Can low-level badminton players beat high-level badminton players? Players who compete in sanctioned badminton tournaments in England are graded via Badminton England's grading system. However, is the grading system accurate? I've managed to get players from different grades to test this out.
There are 10 grades in Badminton England's grading system, from 'A' to 'J', which impacts your eligibility to compete in certain tournaments. Find out if there are any upsets and if the grading system is accurate.

As someone who have been playing badminton for a long time..but never had any exposure to training, or anyone trained.. apart from watching in tv..I've never realized how much intricate the game is..
Glad you're learning something new 😊
YES! I've been waiting for this series for awhile. Glad to see you on court CK Yew!
Glad you're enjoying it! Thanks for the support 😊
@@CKYew awesome to see familiar faces in UK scene! Esp Chin and Alex from Club Racket Sports YT & Yang's badminton blog!!!!
can we talk about how stephen is only 18 and his voice is deeper than people twice his age lol
Very good video. Thank you for showing the comparison in skill levels.
Great video, was really looking forward to this series :)
Cool to see you guys enjoying your time on court and with each other as thats what sports is about
I'm glad you enjoyed it as much as we did! 🙏
Finally. Nice ! Been waiting for this series
Archit is like: let’s eliminate everyone. While Alex is like: let’s teach them a thing or two.😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
This was really awesome. I loved it! I would love to see this for other countries too.
Maybe one day!
Hi CK, brilliant video as always! Was good to get the players perspectives into the grading system, especially given BE are currently reviewing the system.
I am personally a man of data, and think it would be awesome if they could create local badminton leagues within the BE tournament software, so if youre playing in your local league you can still get grading points based on your opposition, and gives people a greater data set to accurately reflect their grade.
I think this video also shows how footwork is so important in badminton as the grade B players technique can definitely improve, but the footwork and tactics makes up for it significantly.
haha, i can the pros of it as well as the complexity it adds too. 🤣
I enjoyed that, thanks CK Yew! It's nice to see the differences :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video ck! Very fun day playing against so many good singles players as a doubles player was a pleasure 🙏
You did amazing too!!! Thanks for playing with us! 🙏🏻
Nice video. Seems like the grading system is pretty accurate. Maybe you are a grade above your current grade. But lets be honest, I think we all expected a few more upsets than that. People have off days, some people might hit a purple patch of form etc.
Loved this video! 👏🏽
What a banger CK! 🤩
Thank you for the last music at the end of the video. Beautiful
I appreciate that you never give up and let us be part of your tries to get to an B Grade ;)
Gotta be in it to win it! 🤣
I love the video, keep up the good work
👍
This might be underrated. I enjoy the music thoroughly~
Glad you enjoyed it!! It was a big project 😂👌
Great play CK Yew specially your drop shots.
Glad you enjoyed it!! 🤣
Nice… do notice the A grade and B grade looks like they don’t move as much in terms of steps and in terms of racquet head movement it seems very minimal n quick and at the past millisecond making it harder to read… they are calm composed and decide on hitting point n location and target to hit to before hitting… notice also if you read that they are going to do a certain shot, they actually have several options… if they are not in a good position… their shots slow down… to get time on their side… but if they have the upper hand… the shots are intercepted to speed up.. the pace….
They were slightly taller and might have had longer arms as well. 😅
7 singles games in a day? Thats great CK!
As a hobbyist, i’m gassed out after 2 games of singles hahaha
nice video!
Out topic but what can you say on yonex velo 100 shoes I'm planning to buy it as my 1st shoes i have limited budget so im still deciding i just need opinion
Good video. Wud be gd to see A vs B with normal angle
It’ll get uploaded onto the members feed 🙏🏻🙏🏻😊
Very entertaining 😂😂
Wow, new video!
More to come!
i am very confused between astrox 100, arcsaber 11pro, and axforce 80/90 tiger please help
Joe aka the one in cyan is my teacher. Good games Mr dehdashty
Awesome video
Glad you enjoyed it
Great vid, really cool to see. As an F grade myself would have liked to compete!
Glad you enjoyed it! You should join some of the tournaments! 💪🏻💪🏻
@@CKYew I do! Actually sent this to a friend and realised I used to play at that hall when I was at uni, Chin Tze was too! Got thrashed by Alex once myself as well
😂😂 nice!! Hope to one day see you on court 💪🏻
Yo steven got that deep ass voice.... Wtf! 😂😂
Waiting for new episode haha
CK Yew, you play well but you do something I do. You play risky shots (vs Grade A) and while you played them really well the problem is getting back to the centre line and getting to the next shot is very far from you. Then also yes you will feel you can get them for 5 points but then you lose stamina, get a little tired and then you can't make it to the shuttle. Then the rest of your shots become too risky .
I'm gradeless, nice to meet you. lol hahaha🤣
nice video
The audio is not in sync
Are the tournaments played throughout England or only in certain places?
All over the country!
How do you know what grade are you?
you're still using the 2nd gen!!
This video makes me wondering how will it score if we have a match. 😂
Score doesn't matter as long as we enjoy the game :)
ayy ck that copper grade can be a real local athlete in indonesia if yall played double 😂
🤣
Grading seems to be accurate
Im might be grade AB just like in excel😂
What racket were you using ckyew?
Astrox 88D Pro
Alex seems such a great player
He is!!
Hello sir, Is there a way of ordering ur products with cash on delivery?
Not sure where you're based but unfortunately not I'm afraid :(
@@CKYew do you sell the protection tape anywhere besides your store? I've been trying to look for it somewhere else because I unfortunately cannot pay on your store(weixin payment qr code) but haven't been able to find anything.
@@CKYew I purchased once after watching at UA-cam but the products never reach me that's why I am afraid to order pre-paid.
@lamp6909 Certain badminton stores do carry it if you're based in the UK.
@tsapi911 From ckyew.com/shop?
one thing to note tho. level B in the uk is not the same as level B in malaysia. you know that right?
Malaysia has a grading system for players?
Malaysia hv level B? Are we talking about the same Malaysia?
He’s been to my school today
🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🏼
Why do people use the word "cheap points" lol. If it's a direct counter play, i.e. far left shot to short right shot, then I would just call it a punishing point. Nothing cheap about it.
Cheap points often refers to points given away instead of counters. Points where you hit out or in the net or your own mistakes are cheap points.
Why isn't there an international grading system?
I'm from Ireland. Club level has division 1-10 , 10 being begineer and 1 being close to national level.
Then like most European countries and UK we have Grades A-H .
I moved to Canada and they don't have a grading system. It's based off age only.
There is an international system, it’s the world ranking 😬😬😂😂 it’s just we’re not good enough to go on it 😂
@CKYew Yes but for an international club level system.
Interest in finding out more about the Badminton England's grading system, from 'A' to 'J', does that works similar to doubles games?
Able to share or point where to read more about the grading system? So as other country like Ireland. Thanks.

@@CKYew do a south of England version haha. Either way, if u want to have a match up then let me know 👍🏻
@BenBeckmanBadminton true! might have to see if there’s a difference between the Gradings from different parts of the country 😂
@@CKYew 🤣🤣
Ben is ban from such amateur competitions
first time being here early😁
im grade Z
I gave 1 tip to this old chap on rotation. He never spoke to me ever after. I never gave any tip to anyone ever after. People have very fragile ego folks. Be careful✌
Yeah it's best not to bother, unless someone specifically asks for advice. 😐
The only time that I say anything, is when players that think they're good, try to tell where to stand, when they don't know that they're wrong and why they're wrong.
It's usually the people that try to play doubles like singles 🙄 and run backwards from mid court / the net, when the shuttlecock is lifted over them (when on attack).
They always crash into people, or clash rackets, but can't see that it's their fault. 😶
@@1Flyingfist funny how the incident was something similar. I was telling him not to come back from the right hand side after he attacks the net but rather to cover both sides of the front court...
@quicksmash If he's had no coaching and you have, it will make some games difficult. Especially if it's someone stuck in their ways, that wants to "play sides" 😳😅.
grade D smurf
CK smurfing
Yeah in Indonesia, the grading system is mostly a self diagnosed one.
In Indonesia, we diagnose our level based on how frequent we play, e.g., only when there is a big tournament being held, once a week, every day.
🤣
Grade F is absolutely abysmal
You should've been here playing 🤣
What do you expect?
F stands for fail.
Great video. I noticed Ppl are too tired at the end. May not be a true reflection to er true level. A 11 pts set would make sense ?
Well in tournaments, you do go through more sets in a day, albeit in slightly longer gaps in between.
@@CKYewindeed , 2 rubber set will be 6sets
