I did like that in battlefront 1 you can go prone. It’s just something that pulls you in a bit deeper. Still something that ea’s versions haven’t been able to do for me
When it comes to the Conversion Pack, I recommend upgrading your conversion pack to conversion pack 2.0 if you haven't cause it adds so much more to the game, including the KotOR Era, and then the 2.2 patch for it. It's really good

Nah, Marvel4's Pack is better imo. The maps are more accurate and don't crash as often. Conversion Pack is good too don't get me wrong, but it feels... unfinished.

I gave to admit I haven't tried too many different mods for Battlefront II because I used to download things way too much when I was younger and I'd end up putting viruses on my dad's computer, plus the others I've tried would end up crashing the game or wouldn't work right (probably didn't find good mods), so I've stuck with the 2 mods I know are safe and I can reliably get: Conversion pack 2.0 with the 2.2 patch and BFX. I wish Valve would allow Battlefront II mods on steam so that there would a safe reliable way to get them.
I actually found a server earlier this year where we played Rhen Var: Temple online. I couldn't believe my luck--that map is perhaps my favorite standalone mod map (non-era mod). It introduced me to Led Zeppelin before I had any idea who they were. And the heroes and "hunt" modes on that...NUTS!!! In the best way possible!

I am so happy I clicked on your video. I finally have a list of some of the most amazing and noteworthy mods I am so excited to start playing again after this semester once I get my new PC :)
MY OPINIONS DON'T JUDGE ME: #21 Capital Strike: Meh it is alright, not a lot of design and is a visually boring map pack. #20 Capital Down: Same reasoning as #21 but I guess the era support helps it out. #19 Coruscant Droid Invasion: Easily one of my favorite Coruscant maps ever made, I love the realism of the one shot one kill idea. #18 Episode 2 Geonosis: An overall good map with custom sides and space battle, a good map to download. #17 Raxus Prime Factory: A very well put together map but it is severely lacking in custom sides, big turn off for me. #16 1.1.4 Geonosis: Now this map is pretty good visually but gameplay wise could use some more props. #15/#14 Clone Wars Kashyyyk/Kashyyyk Episode 3: No complaints on either of, an excellent map that portrays Episode 3 Kashyyyk and would highly recommend. #13 Hoth The Empire Strikes Back: Anything Bantha55 makes I give a thumbs up too no matter what (like Coruscant Droid Invasion). #12 Marvel4's Conversion Pack: Did not bring too much excitement, rather bland map pack. #11 Christmas In Jinglin Town: DANN_BOEING MAPS ARE GREAT, THIS SHOULD BE IN YOUR TOP 5!!!! #10 Big Battle 1.0: Boring, Basic, Yavin sky, nothing done to the map, no custom sides, easily one of the worst maps I ever played. #9 Suun Ra: Desert City: In my top 3 favorite Urban maps list, has unique custom sides and new spaceships and sky battles. #8 Dev's Side Mod: Not a big fan of side mods but the eras are very fun to play and bring a different gameplay to the game. #7 Star Destroyer: Easily the best made inside map of a Star Destroyer but the sides are rather plain so I rarely played this map. #6 Battlefront Extreme: While I LOVE new sides and maps, I have issues with BIG MODS, not a huge fan of big mod conversions like this. #5 Kothlis Sea Haven: Easily the most visually stunning map I have ever played, plus I love the Beach troopers mode on here. #4 Rhen Var Temple: DANN_BOEING BABY MADE IT IN TO YUOR TOP 5 YEEEEEEEESSSSSSS! #3 Remastered Sides: Not a fan of side mods, never really got into them and most likely never will. #2 Clone Wars Extended: I really love this mod mainly because of the Order 66 modes and a few other features it packs. #1 Battlefront 3 Legacy: I mean... it is a great masterpiece but I am not really "on fire" for it. I love to play it but it is not my cup of tea. DANN_BOEING maps would be all my top 5s!
Bf3 legacy is currently broken on the steam version of the game if I'm not mistaken as every map crashes. It looks like an amazing mod though and i can't wait to play it when it gets fixed. Clone wars extended is very worthy of second place. My top 10 would be something along the lines of: 1: Saga edition. I believe this is a compilation of various visual mods along with some new maps and units thrown in. New models, rezzed maps, new maps, new HD menu with new font... basically a remaster. I'm throwing rezzed maps, the reshade, the new models ect all in number 1 together because they compliment eachother and make the game look much better. The saga edition is one big collection of visual mods but basically number 1 is pretty much every visual enhancement mod. They all go a long way to making vanilla look fresh. 2: The conversion pack. This is included in the saga edition but even on it's own it is an amazing mod. This is a special one for me because the og bf1 from 2004 is one of the first proper video games i ever played when i had an original xbox as a kid and the maps just bring back so many memories. Dune sea, both the rhen var maps and both the bespin maps in particular are so nostalgic and they are also very good maps. Conversion pack takes second place because it allows me to relive my childhood. 3: Battlefront extreme. BFX is basically a remaster of the default sides. It allows you to play as units from SW that never made it into the game and remasters vanilla units and heroes. Magnaguards finally having electrostaffs and jango finally having his dual pistols are just two of the things i like from this mod along with the overhaul of thermal detonators and the addition of melee. Overall a great mod that just brings various parts of the game up to date and adds new cool units for both eras. 4: GCW 1036. This is a must have if you like the units and gear from EA's battlefront or are just a fan of the GCW era in general. Alien species for rebel units, amazing stormtrooper models no matter what map you are on including the new badass evo troopers for dagobah, death troopers, royal guards, shadow troopers, shock troopers with TL-50's and squad shields, impact grenades... i could go on. An excellent mod for GCW. 5: Tatooine at war. Easily my favourite map mod. Think of mos eisley, jabbas palace, various tusken camps, sandcrawlers, large sand dunes, ground to space, millenium falcon and the slave 1 all rolled into one huge map with plenty of space in between each area to make it feel epic. That's tatooine at war. There's a lot of good tatooine maps out there but this is easily the best imo. 6: CW extended. Take the CW era and turn it up to 11. That is essentially CW extended. Tons of new maps, units ect. Easily the biggest mod i have at a whopping 2.5 gb (somewhere around there). Well deserving of the number 2 spot on this video's list. 7: A new frontier. This is the definitive mod for the sequel era. Awesome FO trooper models and weapons, awesome new units like the flame trooper and riot trooper, amazing heroes that have cool abilities, awesome sound FX and great looking blaster bolts all topped off with a fun jakku map that compliments the intense blaster bolt effects. This mod is still a work in progress with crait, two new heroes and what i assume to be an exegol space map still to come. Fantastic era mod. 8: Republic commando mod. Easily the most immersive mod on this list. Awesome HUD taken from the actual game, first person melee animations, first person ADS, badass voice lines from the game, replication of SBD and commando tankiness from the game so you take more but so do SBD's and the piece de resistance: the units. They look badass, sound badass, play badass. Some of the best units I've ever used in a mod. Even the CIS have retextured battle droids and new units like mandos, trandoshans and creepy looking geonosian models based on the game. It's even compatible with galactic conquest and the amazing kothlis map. A must have if you like the CW era and hands down the most immersive mod I've ever played for bf2 as it actually makes first person fun to use. 9: Dark times 2: rising son. New era, new units, new abilities, new heroes/villains, new maps, an entire 13 mission campaign... one of the most content-packed mods to date. If you are a fan of the ise of the empire era then this is a must have and is all around a great mod. 10: Battle of umbara. This is an extremely close second behind tatooine at war for my favourite modded map that isn't in the conversion pack. The atmosphere and accuracy to the show is unbelievable for a game this old and fighting towards the air base in an epic struggle where you have the disadvantage as the republic is one of the most epic things i have ever experienced in bf2. It truly is magnificent. The umbaran units are awesome, the vehicles are fantastic, the map is just gorgeous and pong krell? How they managed to make him i have no idea. They even added ground to space. Awesome mod and one of the best modded maps out there. If you said this is THE best map then i wouldn't argue. My love for tatooine puts TAW in first place but umbara is extremely close. Honourable mentions: kothlis sea haven (my third favourite map mod) Battles of the clone wars Patch 1.3 goes without saying as it is a necessity and although BF3 legacy looks amazing I'm unable to rank it as every map crashes for me so i haven't had chance to try it. Plenty of amazing mods out there but these are my favourite thus far.
What is pisses me up about the game is that the AI are shooting at even if you are in the distance while your teameats are right in their face. They will ignore them and shoot at you.
Is it possible for someone to make a secondary class selection screen, so we aren't restricted to just 8. Like you load into a box and get to choose which class you want to be by walking into a class model? If that's possible? Or weapon pick-ups? Does the code-allow for weapons to be picked up?
@@Savage01st Either that or depending on the limit of "native units" you could just make the basic rebel soldier/sniper or stormtrooper/sniper be a native unit to free up two more slots. I feel like native units are a under utilized class. Civilian soldiers on bespin would be sweet, but you can't think of everything.
This is kinda nostalgic...and I know that's a word the internet loves to overuse, but these are mods that I've played at some point or the other over the years. A few I haven't which are new to me, but most I remember and have fond memories with. My all-time #1 has always been BFX. The graphics are updated subtly, yet remain consistent with the style of the vanilla game and look fantastic with the vanilla maps. The gameplay changes were such an improvement and so well balanced with tons of new units, that for a very long time when I played Instant Action I pretty much only touched BFX, never even went back to vanilla Battlefront. Ah...Capital Down, that longer Tantitive IV, Star Destroyer, Rhen Var: Temple, etc. so many brilliant maps and mods from this community over the years.
12:18 you said that map reminds you of Coruscant, I knew I wasn't the only one, sadly your footage was only on skies but I'm pretty sure that map is pretty similar to a map of Coruscant which idk the name, but had almost the same structure, and had a CP on the senate room, as well as coruscant cars as ships, pretty cool

Ayyeee Rhen Var Temple! I also searched up as many songs as I can and I found that some of the songs are Led Zeppelin and Oasis songs, which is the way I got into Oasis and now I love Oasis! And I still do too!

The saga edition is one big collection of visual mods but basically number 1 is pretty much every visual enhancement mod. They all go a long way to making vanilla look fresh.
2: The conversion pack. This is included in the saga edition but even on it's own it is an amazing mod. This is a special one for me because the og bf1 from 2004 is one of the first proper video games i ever played when i had an original xbox as a kid and the maps just bring back so many memories. Dune sea, both the rhen var maps and both the bespin maps in particular are so nostalgic and they are also very good maps. Conversion pack takes second place because it allows me to relive my childhood.
3: Battlefront extreme. BFX is basically a remaster of the default sides. It allows you to play as units from SW that never made it into the game and remasters vanilla units and heroes. Magnaguards finally having electrostaffs and jango finally having his dual pistols are just two of the things i like from this mod along with the overhaul of thermal detonators and the addition of melee. Overall a great mod that just brings various parts of the game up to date and adds new cool units for both eras.
4: GCW 1036. This is a must have if you like the units and gear from EA's battlefront or are just a fan of the GCW era in general. Alien species for rebel units, amazing stormtrooper models no matter what map you are on including the new badass evo troopers for dagobah, death troopers, royal guards, shadow troopers, shock troopers with TL-50's and squad shields, impact grenades... i could go on. An excellent mod for GCW.
5: Tatooine at war. Easily my favourite map mod. Think of mos eisley, jabbas palace, various tusken camps, sandcrawlers, large sand dunes, ground to space, millenium falcon and the slave 1 all rolled into one huge map with plenty of space in between each area to make it feel epic. That's tatooine at war. There's a lot of good tatooine maps out there but this is easily the best imo.
6: CW extended. Take the CW era and turn it up to 11. That is essentially CW extended. Tons of new maps, units ect. Easily the biggest mod i have at a whopping 2.5 gb (somewhere around there). Well deserving of the number 2 spot on this video's list.
7: A new frontier. This is the definitive mod for the sequel era. Awesome FO trooper models and weapons, awesome new units like the flame trooper and riot trooper, amazing heroes that have cool abilities, awesome sound FX and great looking blaster bolts all topped off with a fun jakku map that compliments the intense blaster bolt effects. This mod is still a work in progress with crait, two new heroes and what i assume to be an exegol space map still to come. Fantastic era mod.
8: Republic commando mod. Easily the most immersive mod on this list. Awesome HUD taken from the actual game, first person melee animations, first person ADS, badass voice lines from the game, replication of SBD and commando tankiness from the game so you take more but so do SBD's and the piece de resistance: the units. They look badass, sound badass, play badass. Some of the best units I've ever used in a mod. Even the CIS have retextured battle droids and new units like mandos, trandoshans and creepy looking geonosian models based on the game. It's even compatible with galactic conquest and the amazing kothlis map. A must have if you like the CW era and hands down the most immersive mod I've ever played for bf2 as it actually makes first person fun to use.
9: Dark times 2: rising son. New era, new units, new abilities, new heroes/villains, new maps, an entire 13 mission campaign... one of the most content-packed mods to date. If you are a fan of the ise of the empire era then this is a must have and is all around a great mod.
10: Battle of umbara. This is an extremely close second behind tatooine at war for my favourite modded map that isn't in the conversion pack. The atmosphere and accuracy to the show is unbelievable for a game this old and fighting towards the air base in an epic struggle where you have the disadvantage as the republic is one of the most epic things i have ever experienced in bf2. It truly is magnificent. The umbaran units are awesome, the vehicles are fantastic, the map is just gorgeous and pong krell? How they managed to make him i have no idea. They even added ground to space. Awesome mod and one of the best modded maps out there. If you said this is THE best map then i wouldn't argue. My love for tatooine puts TAW in first place but umbara is extremely close.

Patch 1.3 goes without saying as it is a necessity and although BF3 legacy looks amazing I'm unable to rank it as every map crashes for me so i haven't had chance to try it.
Plenty of amazing mods out there but these are my favourite thus far.

What is pisses me up about the game is that the AI are shooting at even if you are in the distance while your teameats are right in their face. They will ignore them and shoot at you.

Is it possible for someone to make a secondary class selection screen, so we aren't restricted to just 8. Like you load into a box and get to choose which class you want to be by walking into a class model? If that's possible?

@@Savage01st Either that or depending on the limit of "native units" you could just make the basic rebel soldier/sniper or stormtrooper/sniper be a native unit to free up two more slots. I feel like native units are a under utilized class. Civilian soldiers on bespin would be sweet, but you can't think of everything.

This is kinda nostalgic...and I know that's a word the internet loves to overuse, but these are mods that I've played at some point or the other over the years. A few I haven't which are new to me, but most I remember and have fond memories with. My all-time #1 has always been BFX. The graphics are updated subtly, yet remain consistent with the style of the vanilla game and look fantastic with the vanilla maps. The gameplay changes were such an improvement and so well balanced with tons of new units, that for a very long time when I played Instant Action I pretty much only touched BFX, never even went back to vanilla Battlefront.
Ah...Capital Down, that longer Tantitive IV, Star Destroyer, Rhen Var: Temple, etc. so many brilliant maps and mods from this community over the years.
12:18 you said that map reminds you of Coruscant, I knew I wasn't the only one, sadly your footage was only on skies but I'm pretty sure that map is pretty similar to a map of Coruscant which idk the name, but had almost the same structure, and had a CP on the senate room, as well as coruscant cars as ships, pretty cool

Good choices but I wish you explained each mod a bit more because on most of the mods you just said “yeah, it’s legit amazing, you should definitely download it” so I didn’t get what really made the mod showcased good. No trying to hate just a suggestion. Good video overall!
