    PIN THIS COMMENT AL!!!
This lawn should be bangin' by next year. The current homeowner is very nice. Because of that, I have full control to do whatever I please to the lawn and landscape. I actually plan to prune all the bushes and clean up all the landscape beds just like the good 'ol days.
Your old lawn is in good hands BRUH!!!

I bought my home in Tampa in Dec 2021 and have followed LCNs advice to a T and I have learned a lot while having success. It started out about 90% weeds and is probably about 10% weeds now. My work has also started a lawn maintenance trend in my neighborhood.

Same with me started off 90% dead grass and weeds to now only 10% and now my lawn is the talk of the neighborhood cause of how green it is and how it looks like a turf field my neighbor said my lawn looked like a baseball field from all the reseeding and watering I did and kept it fertilized!

We got him by record breaking high temps here in Oregon too. We got to 115 where we live 3 days straight then high 90’s for a week and high 80’s + since. Our yard is not happy at all. We’ve got a lot of dead spots that just won’t come back and seem to be getting bigger. Normally our lawn is lush and green and it’s killing us to see it like this.
The same thing happened back in August 2015 with a couple days of temps around 110 and we ended up having to reseed in the fall, this year though fall is much further away and we need to do something much sooner.
Also, that roundup for lawns is amazing stuff, I highly recommend it!!

  • @SoCalMisfit712
    @SoCalMisfit712 3 роки тому +2

Here’s the scenario, blue grass Bermuda mix, ball park blend. Consistently in the 90’s from June until august. 100-110 for a week straight sometimes in between. No rain in sight, hasn’t rained for 3 months.
I fertilize three times in spring, and fall. Total of 5# of n a year. I try to water every other day. Hard to do when it’s 105. I also put down humichar and other organic in between. Most say not to fertilize when it’s hot because of stress. In this scenario, how would you handle the lawn?
Lawn looks ok, just would like it a little thicker, and to hold the green better. Thanks Allen.

Lot of places all over the country are in a similar situation, where the lawn looks like it's mid August when it was only late June/early July.
One thing to consider is putting down a fertilizer high in potassium as that helps with summer stress and disease. Try Yard Mastery's Stress Blend or something similar to it.
Also consider some type of lawn moisture support application, like Hydretain. Bioadvanced makes a sort of generic version of Hydretain with the same active ingredients for cheaper. Follow the directions to a T when putting it down, as it's not as simple as spraying and forgetting.
I did both recently and my lawn looks better now after multiple days in 90+ degree temps than it did most of last summer. I think the high K content and lawn moisture support app really helped out a lot.

Do you think the low % in these products is due to making sure the general public doesn’t overdo it or due to epa regs?

So Allyn or anyone else that may know...can you buy Freedom and Stress Blend from their office in Bozeman? Or is online the only way? It seems like shipping would be such a large portion of the cost. It would make sense to run to Bozeman to pick some up if they actually had stock there.

And they say you can't go home again. Myth busted. Was waiting for the ladder to come out and the old GoPro above the picture window view :)

Good Friday mate. It was so hot today that the birds were sweating. No chirps today because their beaks were dry 🤣

so nice to see some throwback stuff. Your old lawn is thrashed. So sad That indeed was 9 days of ignorant, florida type, rain beings I live fairly close to where you were filming. I was thinking that amount of rain would wash away my preemergent, and I should reapply. I figure it is not worth it. The nutsedge at the down spouts is where chemicals need applied.
