Well, a Lamborghini does not compare with the Super Seven on price, does it? You can travel 1000 km in the Lambo, in winter, at bullet train speeds, carrying a supermodel. You can't do that on a seven, or your supermodel will sue you when you arrive at the hotel in Montecarlo and she looks like Bridget Jones after a month in a trench full of mud. The Lotus 7 replica is a 450 kg racing oriented tool without doors, good for one thing only. In a track, it's pretty obvious a 1.900 kg hypercar with air conditioning, leather seats and hi-fi system can't pull away. Actually the Lambo corners very well here, considering what's put against.

The total 5 year ownership cost on a caterham is probably a tenth of what one would spend on a conventional supercar.
Power to weight has more than one implication. I run a 180bhp 700kg Golf 1 with well dialed suspension and brakes. On a short track I can brake after the last brake marker and maintain a high corner speed . One of my most enjoyable track days was an AC Cobra club track day. Loved passing all of them around the outside under braking. I had a train of six Cobras chasing me for most of the day with my best friend riding shotgun and screaming like a girl.

We were passing everything including a number of Lambo's and Ferrari's, and it was clear that in the braking areas and accelerating out of bends that we catching up and passing the seemingly the much faster machines. My driver said that you can rarely cheat physics and it was much easier to stop and accelerate a machine weighing 490/500kg than one weighing over a 1200Kg or more. That, said if on a road or unrestricted motorway where the road was relatively straight the Caterham would not be able to stay with the more powerful machines, but then again how often is it possible to legally use the full potential of these Supercars? and the Caterham could be more fun for more of the time.

At race schools with a variety of cars to test, the pro drivers love the caterhams, really alive, a little edgy, but great fun to get the best out of them - great video 👍

Expected the Lambo smoking the Cat on the straight, but get humiliated in the corners. Nope: the Lambo corners really very well, for a car so big and heavy, and the Caterham is surprisingly fast on the straight too. Main advantage of the lighter car is just in the braking. Quite surprising....
Thanks… yes, its a quaife sequential but it helps to use the clutch on downshifts… no clutch on upshifts, just releasing the throttle for a split second

The lambo will always have more top speed and acceleration at top speed, but you were certaintly able to give it a good work out in braking, cornering and acceleration out of corners - great skills! I don't think they make the CSR anymore. It had a Cosworth 2.3 and different suspension. But they should do a supercharged version of that engine in the CSR.
If I were driving this Caterham ( which you do very well), I would install a window net and wear arm restraints. If this car flips, your left arm will worse for wear.

Lambo was probably doing a break in session or there was an inexperienced driver. Cant tell if its a GT3 car but if it is, it should be able to easily walk away from this Caterham. No disrespect against the POV driver tho.
@@malymato8382 10k dude look in to cheaper optoins as it sequential you could use motorbike electronic gear shift, or a stepper motor and ardunio to control it.
slip the throttle is not a problem in time, bit shifting in corner is not as easy compared with a flatshift. My car definitely needs both Hands at the wheel, it is to direct for a smooth gearchange in cornering an needs a lot of trust in me of what im doing.
That Lambo was smoking the corners; in other words and on the exit too; like maybe too much horsepower. This is typical of racing with stealthy Ninja lightweight 1500 lb vehicles and their tire preserving metrics. That Lambo was a beast though, I would choose it over the non-street legal totally. And financially if I chose one over the other I'd be up like 200,000 dinaros, 200k$ and or tacos.

It seems to have absolutely 0 problem staying well ahead without pushing the car in any meaningful way. It really is a Caterham trying to keep up until finally allowed to pass because the Lambo driver is done racing.
The Lambo definitely looked like it was at race pace 😉 only the driver knows for certain 🤷 , the Lambo will always pull away given a very long straight but get a top spec 220+BHP well built kit car in the tight and twisty and them Lambo,s and alike get in the way sometimes I have to flash my lights so they know I'm coming past 🚀👍 !

If the Caterham driver spends a bit more time developing his driving he could easily overtake the Lambo. He missed a lot of apexes,l and by some distance on right handers.
Funny to see questionable people do foolish things. The Lambo was playing with you, he missed alot of the apexes in the corners. You were working crazy hard to keep up. Second, Safety. If you are going to drive like that where is your racing suit? Great Talent driving but not so smart.

I have never driven the dedion car on limit so I can only speculate
on track the DeDion in comparison is suprisingly good, but on street the independet of the CSR is a real dream.
